RE masvidal future; not for nothing, but how good has jorge done with his promotion? have you seen the production level going on there? whether it pays off in the end is another matter, but this guy.. has curated something very special. from the lighting, the presenters, interviewers, the recruitment, the match making, promotion methodology, putting the events live on youtube at first, everything. the guy hasnt missed a beat. you can actually feel the true gangster attitude emanating from the screen.
so onto the perry thing, is he gonna invite him to a bareknuckle boxing match in gamebred, or bareknuckle mma match in gamebred, or jump across to bkfc, or maybe cross promotion or what? it's very interesting. there are a lot of moving parts. i love how he played the "unretired" thing as well, perfect timing with ufc300 coming up, get people amped up for a ufc return only to pivot all that interest into a whole other promotion, jorge is a master.
by the way, the pereira 300 30 3 video was a masterpiece chael. and i hope one day you have a youtube clips channel because the amount of genius lines and ideas you've put out there over the years is staggering, it just is. and unfortunately most of the world is unable to digest your greatness is in its rawest form. the modern world has the attention span of a gnat. might as well monetise the darn phenomena

Not wanting to do the intense work anymore is something i can totally relate to just from wrestling. I spent almost everyday of my life wrestling from 1st grade all the way to 12th grade. Always doing open tournaments and going to off season camps and everything, running for an hour before school started everyday. By the time i was a senior in high school i was just so excited to be done and i felt terrible about it. It made me not even want to try at Districts because i didnt wanna prolong my career anymore and keep making weight and destroying my body. It was a long 12yr grind. So glad i did it. But this is me giving the cold hard truth about how it felt as a 17yr old after 12 straight years of wrestling. Its hard to keep putting yourself through that without the proper motivation, love of the sport, as well as the right mix of circumstances in life to allow you to be that person.
Ya, I totally get that, there's part of me that looks back and is glad that I was never good enough to fight past the amateur level because there's definitely a lot of truth to the idea that making something you love your job makes you end up not loving it. At 40 I still train and spar and love it, cuz I never have to take it to the extreme discomfort like I used to to make sure I was fully prepared, I never have to worry about my weight or go through the weight cut process, etc. And I see it in other fields as well. My brother is a musician, got a degree in music and worked as a producer for like ten years and finally quit, and now drives a truck for a living, and when i asked him, that's exactly what he said, he said he couldn't stand music being "work" anymore. Same thing with my friend who is a mechanic, when we were in our teens, early 20s, he was looking for any excuse to look at/fix people's cars, and now that's the last thing he wants to do

BKFC would be a good fit for jorge. That said, I think Perry wins. He’s used to the un-gloved fist, nobody is going bare knuckle in sparring so it will be a shock to jorges system when he gets in there and hit with a big one.
Maybe muscle memory kicks in… people forget he started in “bareknuckle”

This would be a beat down. I love magical and he would do great in mma but not bare knuckle against Mike. Magical should take one bare knuckle fight before Mike just to see how he holds up. It’s a completely different sport and these guys all think they can handle it but some guys aren’t built for it physically or mentally. It’s not even like a street fight. The style is evolving and people are focusing on damage. Super tight fist all the time and all gas no breaks. Hurt the other guy more than you and hurt him first. You can’t be a technical sniper in bare knuckle

I don't see what Perry has to gain by beating Masvidal. It doesn't really prove anything. The Jake route seems more plausible because of their history.

Is he at his peak draw? No but put him in bare knuckle it draws better than anything i can think of for Perry other than Conor
