Just a note tho, the intro you saw with planes and bombing is the real world hence when they first shown the mc afterwards they said it is the present day ( of the real world ) meaning what happened at the intro might be around ww2 when japan was actually bombed. Veldora "sort of" buring down a city was different since that was from his world which is another world. anyway you'll get more info soon and why that intro is relevant, just wanna clarify that up as you might get confuse along the way

On the whole topic of reincarnation… my first memory is of me looking down on my body at around 2 years old. I remember entering my body and seeing a woman in the hallway. I thought “that’s gotta be my mom” so a called out “mom?” And she responded accordingly. I then called for my father and he did the same. Then my coherent thinking kinda just faded. I’ve always wondered why that moment has stuck with me so vividly. Reincarnation? Astral Projection? A Dream? I’ll probs never know… at least not in this lifetime.

Even though you are starting this series, I wanna reiterate my recommendations, just for the chance of you reading them and keeping them in mind: - Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (HUGE recommendation, one of the best written series and animated really well); 64 episodes, finished - Tower Of God; just about everyone watching this series gets intrigued or infatuated, there's just something about it. Highly enjoyable imo, only 1 season out at the moment so it's an easy watch, S2 coming though, and there will probably be a lot of hype around it; would recommend you starting this on UA-cam the moment you free up a spot so you are ready to capitalise on that hype once S2 comes - God Of High School: While the writing may not be as good as with the other series and while action very much shapes the series, it has GORGEOUS animation, one of the best I've seen in the past 5 years. Edit: Quick addition: If you enjoy the Isekai-ish vibe and if you're looking for a lot of laughing with some other emotions in between, Cautious Hero could be for you as well. Also only has like 12 episodes or so.

The girl and her mom was during WWII where towns in Japan was fire bombed. The Slime was killed in 2020 so what happened to the girl was 65 to 70 years earlier. They tell you more later in the season.
Slime is the lowest level on monster I think, usually when starting fight tutorial in a game your first opponent usually are slimes this anime make fun of that trope 😁

If you'd like to see a really good Female lead Isekai, I highly recommend - Ascendance of a Bookworm (11 out of 10) - Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! (9 out of 10) - My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! (11 out of 10) - So i'm a Spider, So What!? (9 out of 10) There are a lot more. All of these have dubs if you want that. They're all done well. A lot of the newest female isekai anime seem to be clones of My Next life as a Villainess where the female lead becomes the villain and she's either the new hero while the hero becomes the bad guy or she becomes friends with the game's hero. As a guy, while I do enjoy fan service and pretty female characters, I find the harem tropes annoying because it's all Frosting and no Cake if that makes sense. So I tend to enjoy the female lead ones more because they avoid the annoying trope of "Male character is loved by every woman ever, but he does nothing about it". This Slime anime is great for that reason too. He's a slime, he's not worried about a harem.
in starting you said about air bombing scene "OH MY GOD THAT'S SCARY" , that's the US dropping bombs on Japan period. You will get a short glimpse in future shows in contrast to this, they will not tell you have to read.
Slime to me as a Light Novel is the Best or top 3 greatest world building Light Novels of all time. If you are into Realist hero LN type world building stuff then this is your thing. I admit when I first started watching I was like eh typical isekai so boring but the more episodes I watched the more I got really into it.
There is a manga about mother whose 16 years old son was killed by a truck. Because her son was big fan of isekay, she started to belive her son reincarnated to diferent world. After that she found her old "otaku" friend and started research ways to reincarnate herself. It is kind of dark themed manga about a mother who tries to cope with sad reality ...
