As such... there were some changes from the original release to the media that came afterwards, and one of such changes was the ages of the characters. In the original webnovel, Kazuma was already of age. BUT someone down the line (editors) came up with the "brilliant" idea of making him be an actual high school student instead of an already graduate neet, with the intention of making the target audience for the show feel more in tune with the characters. Which in turn made all the main cast be deaged by 2-3 years each. This editor did not think at all about how that would affect the youngest in the party. -The show also takes some time in story so the characters actually age a bit through out the show... therefore a lot of people will say lots of variations about the ages... So just remember... at the earlieast point of the story the youngest member of the party is already 16yo (as she has already graduated this world's version of high school and has a few not as young looking ex classmates, which makes her modified age not feasible)... so feel free to disregard all other ages mentioned in the rest of the comments... Oh boy are you guys in for a TREAT I promise you'll love this, KonoSuba is such an amazing funny, Kazuma is the man! that reminds me I need to finish season 3
I believe one of the duib actresses described this show as D&D mixed with always sunny in philadelphia and honestly that's rpetty accurate. Also Aqua does in fact wear panties, but she chooses to make them invisible. I'm not joking lmao, that's straight from the author
after the three seasons, spinoff and movie, the first season is safe to be recommended. the rest of it , to be honest, gets a bit stale. even if it is really funny most times :) After this one, maybe complete what is missing (konosuba, re:zero, ovrelord, saga of tanya the evil) and go for the "isekai quartet".
The show despite how it might seem at first impression, with all the butt shots etc, is genuinely very very funny, and honestly the aspects that seem kinda gross up front actually become incredibly funny as a parody.
The other girl has wings because she’s an angel, while Aqua doesn’t because ahe’s a godess. The light novel says this outright, but it’s a little more difficult to convey in anime format.
You mentioned the similarities between this series & Re:ZERO, BUT there is also a 4-way crossover series called "Isekai Quartet" where Kazuma & Subaru meet each other, where at first they quickly bond with each other over how similar they and their situations are, at least they do at first. I highly recommend checking it out for just a fun time overall, especially if you check out other Isekai-genre series after KonoSuba, namely "Tanya The Evil," "Overlord," & "Rising of the Shield Hero." You don't need to see all of the original series that Isekai Quartet involves, but I'm sure most people would recommend it. At the very least, if you're not sure about any of the series that are involved in this crossover, you could check out I.Q. as a sneak peek into only the characters of each series to see if like them or not.
Aqua doesn't have wings because unlike the other girl, Aqua isn't an angel - she's a goddess. And that an angel is now covering for Aqua is actually a very meaningful event with consequences down the line. This is one of the greatest strengths of this series: that despite only writing it to hit a few climactic scenes the author wanted to write, he ended up doing an extremely good job of worldbuilding where pretty much everything has actual causes behind it and pretty much every single action ends up accumulating a steady stream of consequences. Simply by creating characters with realistic (or not) shortsightedness is enough to generate a steady diet of comedy. Also, Aqua does wear underwear. Unfortunately, she doesn't want people to see it so she makes it invisible. (This is ascended fanon: when the creator heard this explanation he immediately declared it to be so.) And in fact some of Aqua's followers are aware by now - mostly from her incessant begging for money - that she's probably wandering on their world and have a rough idea where she is. They just don't much care, which will start making an uncomfortable amount of sense as you learn more about her religion. It's unclear how good Kazuma's luck was before coming to this world. It might have always been good, but there's something that hasn't been explained yet which could be drastically and artificially raising that stat while he's here.
If you're looking at isekai parodies, I'd recommend Cautious Hero: The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious. Extremely funny, but with a twist. Also a bit of equal opportunity fan service with the (male) main character being shirtless in the beginning.
I really think it needs build up, but be sure its one of the funniest comedys. First episodes are a bid build up, but it really takes speed up in the comedy allready in the next episode. Hope you have much to laugh.
Pretty amusing how the shows with more fanservice than you're used to reacting are the ones getting +30k views on your channel, which is pretty rare if it isn't the new popular battle shounen of the season.
Damn. if there's a fairy out there somewhere that can make me forget Konosuba, so i can watch it for the first time all over like you guys You're in for fun😂
11:28 As with all manga, anime, and any other drawn or non live action media, this always depends on the artist or mangaka’s drawing style. Not all isekai having women who curvy and eye-catching as this. There are plenty where the overall style and everything is more about being cute. Guys are basic because, on average, there really isn’t a great deal of differences to set one of us apart from the next. Then, there’s the trope of making the male MC as “basic” as possible to act as an insert for the male audience that is expected to be watching (specifically in Japan). They’re meant to be average looking by our standards, but in a whole other world, they stand out and are usually the ones who catch the eye of others. They’re exotic… (and I just understood why isekai protagonists are supposed to attract so many women). Anyway, the only exceptions are when it’s a full blown fantasy world where no one, not even the MC, is from our world.
Its not so much "Re:Zero" coded as they both came out about the same time, they play with similar tropes of the genre. Isekai has been a popular genre in Japan for a few decades at least, drawing on the disenfranchisement of the younger generations. The track suit is simply a common clothing type used in anime worn by people are are shut-ins / NEETs. The premise of this, like Re:Zero, is to take the point of view of a young generation who aren't that interested in the real world, and have experienced the Isekai genre, so when they encounter it for real they have all these assumptions, like how Both Subaru and Kazuma expect to be powerful, only to find out their average / out of place in this fantasy world. Re:zero took the direction of more drama while Konosuba is geared towards comedy slapstick.

I love the theory that the other gods accepted Kazuma's wish to bring Aqua along not because it was a valid request but because they just wanted to get rid of Aqua
Oh boy are you guys in for a TREAT I promise you'll love this, KonoSuba is such an amazing funny, Kazuma is the man! that reminds me I need to finish season 3
Never clicked on a video faster lol
Aqua actually wears panties but she turns them invisible so no one sees them, that should tell you what her level of intelligence is
Thats a fan theory.
I hope you guys watch the MOVIE as well!
It's hilarious af xD
Oh man the journey these pals set out on are insane. 😂
This is gonna be a wild ride. Probably the funniest Anime since Ghost Stories
Oh, you are going to have a blast with this one! Konosuba and Osomatsu san are the absolute peak of anime comedy
I hope ya'll would continue this hilarious series. Subscribed!
I believe one of the duib actresses described this show as D&D mixed with always sunny in philadelphia and honestly that's rpetty accurate. Also Aqua does in fact wear panties, but she chooses to make them invisible. I'm not joking lmao, that's straight from the author
peak comedy
aha finally! pleasantly surprised to see this in my yt recommendation lol
after the three seasons, spinoff and movie, the first season is safe to be recommended. the rest of it , to be honest, gets a bit stale. even if it is really funny most times :)
After this one, maybe complete what is missing (konosuba, re:zero, ovrelord, saga of tanya the evil) and go for the "isekai quartet".
"at least we don't have to deal with anymore ass shots"
Oh you sweet summer child.....😂
The show despite how it might seem at first impression, with all the butt shots etc, is genuinely very very funny, and honestly the aspects that seem kinda gross up front actually become incredibly funny as a parody.
well this is going to be a blast, hope you enjoy the series
Konosuba is the best comedy anime, you'll love it
oh boi I can't wait to rewatch this anime with you all, this is the greatest anime of all time!!
The other girl has wings because she’s an angel, while Aqua doesn’t because ahe’s a godess.
The light novel says this outright, but it’s a little more difficult to convey in anime format.
This is my favorite anime. It's so cozy and comedic that I don't even process the fanservice as sexual.
This is one of the best comedies, I hope you enjoy.
You're right about the tracksuit with Subaru. I can't think of any other Isekai that puts the perpetual tracksuit on its mc
got a beer ad before watching. seems appropriate lol
Prepare for one of the most “unique” takes of isekai of all time. Konosuba is legendary
Konosuba is one of the only comedy animes that's actually funny. I hope you enjoy it.
Oh shit, you guys havent watch Konosuba??? lol You're gonna love it!
Fun fact the original authors of this and Re:Zero are actually buddies IRL
Omg!!!!! Feels like an early Xmas gift!!! 😊🥳🥳
着せ恋とこのすばはどちらがファンサービスが多いのだろう?✨
I LOVE It's Always Sunny in Another World! Hope you guys like it half as much as I do.
Oh this is about to be one of y’all favorites 😂
If you believe in equality you will 'love' episode 5, it really pops off with that.
For me this is the both best comedy and isekai series
I really think it needs build up, but be sure its one of the funniest comedys. First episodes are a bid build up, but it really takes speed up in the comedy allready in the next episode. Hope you have much to laugh.
konosuba is easily my favorite comedy anime
Pretty amusing how the shows with more fanservice than you're used to reacting are the ones getting +30k views on your channel, which is pretty rare if it isn't the new popular battle shounen of the season.
konosuba has the best voice acting there is nothing above it
Now you just need to watch Youjo Senki x Overlord and you're ready for isekai quartet..!!😁
The guys aren't basic, just Kazuma.
There's some seriously jacked dudes in this show, from memory a couple of em are half naked too.
Damn. if there's a fairy out there somewhere that can make me forget Konosuba, so i can watch it for the first time all over like you guys
You're in for fun😂
Kazuma is voiced by the same VA as Gabiru from slime
Gabiru! Gabiru! Gabiru!
this anime is great. even in movie it was still hilarious. hope you react all of their episode and movies. lol
Isekai is simply translated "Another world"
Also, Aqua is wearing underwear, but its invisible so no one can peek at it.
She's not a sslf proclaimed she just literally a goddess
LOL that fish was literally me
lol They've found the rabbit hole.
The peak of anime comedy is here. Another peak one might be Gintama.
A few weeks you guys though My Dress up Darling would have too much fan service. This week we get a Konosuba Reaction 😂
Jokes aside glad you guys are watching this one. Definitely one of the most interesting Isekai especially since it is an Isekai parody.
LORD KAZUMA IS FINALLY HERE!
