- In today's super mario theory video we are going to look at the origin, secrets, timeline, story, lore, mysteries and history of the magic paint brush seen in the #supermario games made by nintendo. Throughout the years there have been a lot mario games like super mario world, super mario 64, super mario sunshine, new super mario bros, new super mario galaxy, super mario 3d land, super mario 3d world, super mario run, super mario bros 3 and not too long ago they released the new super Mario odyssey for the nintendo switch which has all kinds of new characters like cappy and locations like the sand kingdom, new donk city and bowsers kingdom. In these games we have seen power ups like the fire flower, ice flower, super mushroom, mega mushroom, super star, hammer suit, spring mushroom and way more. But there were power ups that helped mario, luigi, toad, princess peach, rosalina and the others to escape bowser, the broodals, koopalings and bowser jr. But today, we will look at this weird brush. The magic paint brush is mysteriously the one thing that’s backstory that isn’t flash out or colorful.
My theory: The brush is a prototype that Bowser Jr stole.
Dr. Elvin Gladd.... Dr. Evil Glad... Glad do evil?
He wasn't controlling the ghosts in Dark moon. Dark Moon has this moon that pacifies the ghosts, and Egad asked for their help, which is why the ghosts are seen helping out egad in the beginning of the game.
Also, Color Splash isn't bad. It gave the Koopalings personality, something that was never seen in a mainline Mario game, so people should be praising that Nintendo decided to give them a unique personality.

I kinda like how reckless and chaotic neutral E Gadd’s character is. He really feels like that kinda guy you can only really trust because, in the moment, helping you is convenient for him and you pretty much have no choice. Like, I bet he doesn’t exactly have downright evil intentions, but he’s definitely more dangerous than he looks.
I like that he barely cares about saving Mario, Peach and the toads in Luigi’s mansion 3 and cares more about Luigi retrieving his lost gadgets. He also tells Luigi to give him ALL of his money you collect in the game!

The theory I always had was that it was never intended to be a weapon. One of the Piantas you save in the plaza says that the goop was 'sweet, like candy.' I believed that this brush was actually supposed to creat fun candy and snacks by just drawing whatever you'd like. This also explained to me why Gadd would give it to Bowser Jr. He was a child, probably exactly the audience Gadd had in mind for a brush that could make candy like this. Also, at the point he gave the brush away, no one knew Jr was a villain as his first (known) criminal acts happened after he got the brush and tried to frame Mario. At least that's how I always believed it happened but that's just my theory on it.
Cool. Buy why is everyone upset about the goo.? Why is it fire and electric? It wasn't really meant to be a snack but you never know. And yes, Bowser Jr hat no stain before sunshine and sunshine started with him having the paintbrush.
@@theschnozzler I think everyone's just upset about the mess. I like candy but I wouldn't like chocolate smeared all over my walls and floor. As for the fire and electric, they could just be flavors of candy

I was playing Sunshine literally yesterday and wondered what the paintbrush even is. Seeing this video today was the weirdest coincidence that's happened to me in a while.

6:32 the book was never opened until after paper jam I don't think he could have gone there because portprisma is in the paper mario world which is in a book that was never opened until paper jam which I think is way after sunshine

@@thesmilingman7576 Furthermore, even though the book is a portal to paper universe, only paper beings can use it. We can tell this is true because we've seen paper characters going in and out of it, but when it first opened it didn't suck Luigi and Toad into the paper world, and when it was used during the credits, it absorbed every paper character, but nothing else. And even if E Gadd could use the portal, the book was closed after Paper Jam and it was either destroyed or hidden forever.

I came up with a similar theory: Magic Brush Paint is made by the SAME Big Paint Stars from Prism Island, and that Prism Island paint is traded in the Mushroom Kingdom in buckets, E Gadd bought it at the store and put the brush on it, and there it is created

i’m halfway through the video and I’ll just say this.
Knowing the Koopa King, either
1. Bowser threatened the mad scientist to give Junior the brush
or
2. Junior(or even Bowser for that matter) stole the brush.
It’s probably one, or the other
or even neither, but I do say that out of every item in the Mario franchise
the Brush and F.L.U.D.D are the ones I would love to have irl.

I know the common theory that Bowser Jr. had used his Shadow Mario disguise to trick E. Gadd into giving the Magic Paintbrush to him, E. Gadd thinking he is Mario. It's not explicitly stated that the Magic Paintbrush is the source or reason behind the Shadow Mario disguise, it could just be that weird blue colour with the Mario mustache on it.

Bowser Jr. doesn’t turn into Dark Mario with the paintbrush, he does it by putting that bandana over his face and he can change forms at will.
I think it's a combination of the two, actually.
The proof being that long ghostly tongue he sticks out at Mario when you first encounter him - that's not something either he or Mario can do, and his pseudo-liquid body seems more paint-like, or ectoplasm-slime-like.
My guess is that the mask is more for the voice modulation, though there could be some magic to change his body shape...
Perhaps E Gad is simply a sadist and gave it to Bowser Jr, simply because he was bored and wanted to see what chaos would follow.
Let me tell you my theory about Professor E. Gadd...
What do we really know about E. Gadd? He's an eccentric (possibly mad) scientist who used to be the Understudy of Doctor Vincent Van Gore. He continues his mentors' studies in the field of the Paranormal, majoring in Spectrology - the study of Ghosts. And he is _constantly_ in need of Financial Resources to fund his research!
He also has some special interest in Luigi specifically, and provides him with Technology when required. Now we know that not many characters in the Mario Series recognizes Luigi's contributions to his brother's achievements, so E. Gadd's fascination with him must have deeper significance. But this brings me to his actions in Super Mario Sunshine...
Professor Gadd acts like some sort of Arms Dealer, giving Bowser Jr. a weapon to cause havoc with, and sells another weapon to the Piantas to combat it. He seemed to know that Mario was arriving soon and set this whole scenario up, so I doubt E. Gadd has any fondness for Luigi's Brother, as he just threw Mario into the crossfire of a War!
And he has never directly helped Bowser or other characters in the Mario Series, so providing the Magic Paintbrush to Bowser Jr. for free must have some significance as well! I do believe your deduction that the paintbrush was given to be tested, however the specific design on the handle with the spikes leads me to believe that it *was especially built to be given to Bowser Jr.!*
So, why Luigi and Bowser Jr.? What's the connection between the two that might relate to the professor?
The Answer: All Three of them have struggled with their superior potential being Undermined and Overshadowed by their more well-known and popular family member - Bowser Jr. is _literally_ being molded into his father's image, and Luigi is only ever identified within proximity to the other half of the *MARIO Brothers!*
"How does this relate to E. Gadd", you may ask? My conclusion is that Prof. Elvin Gadd _was originally_ Assistant *E. L. VAN GORE!* Vincent Van Gore's son E. Gore (as in Igor, get it?) was unpaid labour and unappreciated by his father, so when the old man was gone, he changed his name, and set out to become renowned under his own merits!
And he sees a lot of himself in Luigi and Bowser Jr, so he has been trying to help them come into their own - as he prepares them to join him when *E. GADD CONQUERS THE UNIVERSE TO GET BACK AT ALL WHO ABUSED AND MOCKED HIM!*

Sunshine's English dialogue was written and recorded first for some reason. You can tell if you listen closely in the opening cutscene of the Japanese version. Toadsworth and Mario randomly discuss pasta.

I'am very sure Colour Splash will become relevant again as soon as Black Colour possess and corrupts either Bowser or someone else for a third time.
I'am also sure E. Gad is just creating the problem and than selling the solution, with cash being the main goal.

The only reason people say it’s a bad game is because it’s a newer paper Mario game that isn’t like the original to. The majority of people on the planet haven’t even played it because it was on the Wii U. It’s not like the original games but I still think it’s a good game and it gave the koopalings Personalities. Any game that does that must be doing something right

Tiago Mendes ya Nintendo is very unpredictable. I’ve played origami king and color splash And they are both great games but origami king is better in almost every single way except for the writing. Color splash has the best writing out of all the paper Mario games in my opinion. The closest we will ever get probably to Color splash on switch is the references in Origami king to it
