Electronic beat with a sweet melody. This is my favorite Robert Palmer song. It's one of those short songs you can listen to over and over and it never gets tired!
First song to teach me about the power of music and how it can help keep you sane sometimes. I'll always have a soft spot for this. Such a great voice-definitely missed.
Oh how I miss this beautiful man. For years I did not know who sang this great song & was pleasantly surprized to find out it was Robert Palmer. Lost all my CDs when our home flooded from Hurricane Katrina. Palmer's voice is excellent in this recording, the way he drops his voice so low and is mirrored by the base, yummy.
this is great. I think i might be falling in love with this robert palmer. he's great. where has be been my whole life? why did i not know of his brillance sooner? i always just thought of him as that simply irrisistible guy. man had serious talent.
Nice flashback! I loved the song but never saw the video. The words "pillocks" "pretentious" and "posing" spring to mind having seen it. The song should live for ever though - Nice one :-D)
Well, it caught on with some of us...one of my top ten ever (Nowhere girl, Golden Brown, Still Ill, It's my life, Dance Away, etc..) and it was in the movie "Summer Lovers" I think.
Born and raised in Sheffield England, lived in Bermuda... Died way too young, a great loss a great singer and entertainer. Check out Simply Irresistable. Sleep peacefully Robert, you are missed
i saw robert live many years ago when he was in a band called "vinegar joe" his co lead singer was elkie brookes, anybody remember them?. i followed his music ever since. i'm not a great lover of covers, but i do like placebo and their version of this song is pretty good
It's D,D,D,A(8x's) At The Intro And Before The First Verse It's D,D,D,A(4x's)B,B,B,F#(4x's) D,D,D,A(4x's) F#,F#,F#,C#(4x's) G,G,G,D(4x's) A,A,A,E(4x's) Then Just Repeat It From The First Verse Until The End Of The Song. Also There's A Organ Part That Is Played After The First Verse That Is Over The Bassline And It's G,G(An Octave Lower Than The First G.) I Hope This Helps You Out A Bit.

The man created some kickin music over his career. Very much under-rated IMO.
Fell in love to this song when I was 14. Brings back such memories.

He took the brand new genre of New Wave music, and shaped it into something different - The man was always ahead of the curve.
