Really enjoyed this issue. Always love the brotherly bonding moments, but even beyond that I just like the chill tone of this issue. I feel like people don't appreciate the slice of life moments in stories enough. Anyway, I have a feeling once the Fang issues end were in for something exciting.
Because they are written without meaning. There are plenty of stories with Slice of Life, that add to the themes of the story. Naoki Urasawa’s Monster, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Avatar the Last Airbender, Archie Sonic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, come to mind. Why can’t IDW Sonic be written on those levels?
Sure, but I don't think every slice of life story needs to have some underlying meaning to it. We can do things just because they're fun too. That's just my opinion of course. @@whaleping

This feels like one of the adventures I'd imagine Sonic and Tails to be on when I first became a real fan back in the mid 2000s. There's just something about chill adventures (where Eggman would occasionally show up in Sonic Advance 2 tier mechs) that appeals to me in my imagination.
Josh Burcham's colors were something I was definitely excited to see in this issue. He's one of my favorite comic colorists and to see him work on this book legit made my day when I found out lmao. Sadly his colors weren't as great as I know they could've been except for the last 2 pages, mostly cause he's in that period of adjusting to working for a Sonic book. I really hope he becomes a regular colorist cause I want to see him flex his full skill.

Nice to see Natural obstacles to gathering emeralds too. Like if things outside of Sonic/Eggman would get in the way of Eggman/Sonic getting the emeralds they need or want.
Plus, it is cool to see how beautiful Sonic’s world can be.
See you in the Fang story. (I’m excited to see Bean. I missed him.)
All the more to enforce the importance of Sonic having LEARNED that giving too much freedom to scumbags, and a certain soulless killing machine, is dangerous. Eggman and Metal Sonic don't respect the beauty of Sonic's World; they'll destroy it as they see fit if allowed to.
Perhaps Issue #69 will include updated lore from the more recent games.

Hm, I see, yeah, I can agree that was supposed to be the Final Main Issue of 2023 and I do think this is a quite fitting Finale for something called the Misadventures Arc.
Anyway, i guess we’ll be going into a Different Kind of Misadventures before going back into the Main Series, i wonder how this Fang Mini-Series will turn out and be about?
Though, I do wonder why they decided to go with Fang’s Group of all Characters to be the once to get the Spotlight during the Hiatus?
So I read this issue yesterday and when you brought up the instance of Sonic being pushed out of his super form, it really made me think “we haven’t seen that in the comics form”. I would love a gag of Sonic getting accidentally or intentionally kicked out of his form in the mainline books.
I think I'm seeing the real reason why Tails created the "Yellow Tail Turbo". By the time of this comment, Issue 69's plot summary reveals we're getting Sonic Riders in comic form. Someone needs to fire the person who chose to make it a comic story rather than a video game

There isn’t much to review though there was the series reviewing the games
I'm also confused why they're making such a big gap in releases for the main series, they ended on a frustrating note of the restoration all written exceptionally poorly to make a sabotage plot work so we will have that bad taste in our mouth until May.
It’s the problems with Archie’s “Endgame” all over again.
