Thoughts on Sonic Prime as a whole, and the news about the timeline placement? It was a pleasure to cover all 3 seasons of Sonic Prime for yall! From discussions, to reactions, reviews, and everything in between! Loved Prime, cant wait to see what the future holds for the next Sonic TV show!
I came here to see Nine’s arc resolved, and I did not leave disappointed. As for this “Canon” talk, it was just a buzz word to drive up conversation and get people to watch the show. And if they enjoyed it, all the merrier. I hope we get to see Nine again in some form. Also the three Amy Sisters was also very touching. We often see “brotherly” love and interactions from the Sonic Franchise. This was the first time I saw sisterly love.
@@_NormalEditor NGL, I was shocked when they were taken out so early, and was really worried. But their return was glorious and funny too. I wish they got more screen time and also got to have a direct scene with Nine.
It makes sense shadow got the emerald. When the worlds reset, everyone went back exactly how they were before the prism split. Including body positioning and what was held in their hands. We saw from the flashback that shadow was there for the original breaking with the emerald in his hand and because he used chaos control, it caused him to stay in the rift
True only sonic or maybe shadow knew about the events that happened that's like with Lego ninjagos season 6 nya and jay only knew about the events and the rest just comes back but i wish they could make a last season or episode but oh well
Sad it ended, I'm going to miss the series. I don't even care anymore about this whole "canon" thing. I really enjoyed Sonic Prime as it's own show and I'm happy it happened at all. It gave us Nine, it gave us best portrayal of Shadow since 06 and a wholesome story overall. Hope seeing community's reaction SEGA will do Shadow better justice in their next projects. And I'm kinda glad the Prism arc came to a sorta conclusion, because now I can go and live my life again. These 6 months of waiting were the longest lol
*Let's be honest... this whole show was just about Nine's surprisingly good character development 👏.* Seriously, he needs to show up again, just so prime Tails can meet him
The canon is it's after Advance 3. But Flynn said the whole the adventure was moot making me wonder what exactly was the point of making it canon? The only positive was the other characters being used more prominently and Shadow was the MVP.
@@SonicHubYTthe thing is if it was proper cannon rouge wouldn’t be apart of sonics “team” in the series cos why would she be a main friend of sonics, also I feel like they are trying to revive rouge and have a focus on her recently as in dream team and sonic prime and hopefully sonic 3 so that’s why I think they put her in
@@AussieDragooneh but they wouldn’t of put rouge in the sonic team they could of just made her a character that was affected in the prism shatter instead of making this whole thing about who she’s mates with on Reddit 💀
Overall I really feel like Sega should restate their “everything is canon” ideology, just say everything is canon, but not in the same universe just part of the continuity, Prime already created the idea of a multiverse in Sonic so it wouldn’t be impossible to say each part of Sonic is in a different universe, such as the main games in one universe, Prime in another, IDW in another and so fourth. That way everything technically is canon but not taking place in the same area, creating less confusion
Gonna be honest, I’m happy with how Sonic Prime ended. Yeah there were a lot of filler episodes and some characters didn’t really feel important until near the end. But the important thing to me is I enjoyed watching it. I had a fun time watching it and I’m glad it was able to run its course and not be put on Netflix’s chopping block. If it gets a physical release, I’ll pick it up. As for the ending and where Sonic Prime takes place in the timeline, I’m not really that concerned about it. It’s an animated TV show. I’ve learned a long time ago not to take this stuff too seriously. While I do appreciate any sort of continuity and I’m glad SEGA is trying to do a better job at handling it; I’m not going to lose sleep over trying to figure out where Prime fits. Although I do feel bad for Ian Flynn having to face the brunt of Twitter’s wrath. Hopefully he comes out unscathed. But overall, I had a fun time watching Sonic Prime and that’s all I care about. It was also nice to see Shadow written good again. If Netflix wants to green-light another season, great. If they don’t, I think Prime ended on a fine note. But this is just my thoughts on the matter.
Very well said, I always like an ending that shows a lot more of the aftermath of a plot but I agree with a lot of what you said. But also FYI a physical release will come out in March I think
@@LordTylerBluGunderson Prime Sonic is stated to be Game Sonic, also according to Ian Flynn Sonic doesn’t dwell on his adventures. I see where you are coming from, I have the same problem with generations and forces. If Classic Sonic is a past Sonic why doesn’t he remember Infinite or The Time Eater?
I really enjoyed season 3 and Prime as a whole however I do think the final fight got a bit tiresome and repetitive at points. Don’t get me wrong I liked most of what happened from the nice character moments, the team ups, and some of the specific fights, it did feel like this was just a lot of back and fourth between Sonic’s team and Nine, with one getting the upper hand, then the other, then the other again, and etc. which made the fight a bit exhausting to watch near the end cause it felt like the same thing kept happening just in different ways. Don’t think they needed 3 whole episodes for it and could’ve cut a bit out. Other than that though still had a lot of fun, beginning was great, ending was good, liked seeing Sonic and Nine make up and hug. Ending was a bit confusing feels like they just pulled another 06 with wiping the slate clean. But still I liked it all. 8/10
THIS! Yeah I felt like the fight at the end was dragging on for multiple episodes, while there was nice moments, the actual plot did not really advance much. But overall still a solid show
Totally agree. The final fight the first time I saw it was enjoyable, but it totally became a snooze fest once Nine just kept duplicating the robots. It’s annoying that the writers don’t really think of anything else other than…robotic enemies. Nine is a decent villain, but he shouldn’t have been THE MAIN VILLAIN. An overpowered evil Sonic variant like Exe would’ve way cooler to see than just…Nine. Should’ve gave us that Prism form Sonic had in season 2 as well. I want more overpowered vs overpowered fights than just…smashing robots.
@@iamsh0t0 Right! I feel like the animation team really likes to flaunt with these fight scenes cause when they show up they are animated very well and I like a lot of the movements and styles they use but you can only do a fight so many times before people start getting tired or exhausted from it.
@@cyberwolf5896 ALL OF THIS!!! And Also did you feel like Sonic world was empty? Like of course the show is about sonic & his friends so obviously their the main focus but sonic traveling through these different worlds their were only a total of like 8 people. To me it made it feel empty and tbh i got a eerie feeling at certain parts cause I’m like dang it’s just them, eggman, and robots
Honestly I agree with you it feels like they either are leaving it open to do one more season or have just decided to say its canon for the sake of it and move on. Also it feels difficult to work out where after advance 3 it might go based on the characterisations of base amy and knuckles. Base amy seems to be closer to the idw one and knucks also is away from his island just chilling. Maybe im looking into it too far but feels like it'd slot in nicely someplace after forces
They're definitely leaving it open ended on purpose in case they can renew and get more seasons done. But if not it still works as an ending since this arc got wrapped up
This show NEEDS a way better villain than Tails Nine. An overpowered evil Sonic variant like Exe would be really interesting and they could totally go dark with it. Look at Rise of the TMNT Movie. That was rated TV-Y7 and that movie literally had BLOOD in it. The Sonic Prime writers NEED to up their game or I’m over the Sonic franchise as a whole. Can’t take anymore mediocrity.
Wouldn't work after forces since IDW is (as of recently) supposed to be considered cannon and would conflict with Sonic's Characterization there(Maybe Shadows too). It can't take place between IDW and forces either since Eggman is supposed to be missing in that time period, so it would have to slot in before Forces.
@@Sone01TheFirst True I didn't consider that. Between sonic and Amy's characterisation I really do struggle to work out where it could go, maybe around lost world. (Ignoring the fact the actual answer is probably a shrug from sega)
The way how shadow got the emerald is because when they entered the gateway it went back in time to when the fight over the prism happened and shadow still had the emerald then so thats how he got it and sonic was acting "weird" to his friends and he knew tails was gonna say "sonic wait" Edit: and since sonic and shadow discovered the shatterspaces and the void they were doing different things instead of what actually wouldve happend if sonic was gonna shatter the prism Edit 2: i wish there was a full paradox prism sonic form in the season as well with all 5 shards cuz the prismatic sonic in season 2 was 4 shards
This is definitely my favorite Sonic show. Honestly, I’m someone who’s more of a fan of kids stuff than mature stuff for older people. That’s part of why I find a franchise like Sonic to be appealing. It’s not too childish, but it’s also not too mature to the point of boredom. I, of course, have my limits just like anyone else, but this show never went past them. I don’t really mind the characterization of Sonic too much, and the ending was… fine enough. I choose to treat this show as its own thing rather than being stuck to whatever the canon demands. This show does have its problems, but I still found it to be enjoyable.
Yeah the endings the worst we don't know anything what's that for an shadow that's near sonic & friends approaching in my opinion its the eggmans from the new yoke city finding sonics dimension somehow
That’s a total bummer. This show had so much potential and it was kind of wasted imo. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t GREAT either. A more threatening overpowered villain like Evil Exe Sonic or Dark Enerjak could’ve been way cooler than Nine as the villain. The over usage of the robots were annoying too. Kinda sad we aren’t getting that much Sonic content more frequently and what we get is always just mediocrity. I cannot take it anymore. The Sonic franchise and entertainment as a whole is losing me. Guess I’ll just stick to early 2000s movies, Infinity War, No Way Home, and Mario Movie.
I was really excited for this season and I did like it but I’m a little disappointed too. Like everyone already mentioned, the ending was just…not it. I already thought it was gonna be rushed when I got to episode 7 and there was still so much that had to happen. I was really hoping to see a conversation between Sonic and Shadow in Green Hill at the end. Bc the moment Shadow saves Sonic felt a bit underwhelming to me because it was never mentioned anymore. And yeah, just so many questions. I really wanted to see what happens to Nine bc it looked like The Grim was totally destroyed and how it ended with the Chaos Council and all. And it’s kinda sad that we barely got to see the normal main cast. I was really happy with Shadow’s character bc he has always been my favorite character, but I wish he had more to do. He had some awesome moments but he was often just doing the same as everybody else in the fight. I did like Nine as the villain, but I wish he didn’t just copy the robots all the time. Also it looked really cool when he was hurting himself as well but they didn’t really do anything with that. I loved the 3 Amy’s together and Mangey and Sails. I wish the fight didn’t take like 3 episodes or something. But my favorite moment was Nine hugging Sonic. The fact that scene was still so emotional after all that happened was really well done. I am not really an expressive person and even I screamed at that moment😅 So I did really like it, but I think the 2nd season is my favorite. I hope they are still going to make a better ending tho. Since we only had 7 episodes I’m still hoping we get episode 8 at some point
Kinda knew this season was gonna be a little underwhelming. Nine as the villain instead of an evil Sonic variant wasn’t doing it for me. Also, where’s Silver, Blaze, Fang the Sniper, Dark Enerjak, Bark the Polar Bear, Bean the Dynamite??? I want way more fanservice, but it seems like both video games and shows refuse to reward Sonic fans for their dedication and loyalty. Ughh!
I can't believe one of the Eggmen called Shadow, "Edgelord" 💀 Also, the reason why Shadow has the Chaos Emerald is because it was before the shatter. I don't think he remembers anything about what happened except for Sonic.
Also yeah, I'm very confused by the ending. I was under the impression one of the biggest points of contention between Sonic's goals and Nine's was that when the Prism was restored, the shatter spaces would cease to exist, along with Nine and all the alt-variations of everyone. And when Sonic and Shadow re-entered the restored Green Hill it did seem like everything resumed where it left off from the point of the prism being shattered. I took that as the explanation for why Shadow had the green emerald again, because he'd had it at that same moment in the past. So none of it ever happened. So Nine is gone, Dread is gone, Rusty Rose, etc, all gone and never existed. Unless the Shatter-spaces were just alt dimensions that had always been there and are only accessible when the Prism breaks? Dunno, they didn't make that clear.
The very first episode was 2 episodes merged together into a 40min one, which gives us total of 24 episodes. I don't think there's any more episodes coming for the 3rd season, but I'm positive Netflix will order another batch for this or another story if it gets enough views
Sonic prime is fire I think the ending of sonic prime when that blast thing happens might be teasing a new show or possibly a sonic prime game and it continues there
This season basically confirms my theory that making the show canon was either an afterthought to drum up hype or something they just added because "It wipes itself out anyway. We can do anything we want because in the end, it doesn't even matter." The final battle reminded me a lot of the third Hobbit movie. The action was good but after a while, you're like "Oh my gosh, END ALREADY!!!" There a bunch of issues I have that I don't have time to get into, but I'm not sure if I want Season 4. If they did it, I'd want them to take full advantage of the Sonic universe. No more sidelining the canon versions of the cast.
i agree!! it doesn't need a 4th season but i wouldn't mind a short film being released just to give a more satisfying conclusion even just like 40 minutes of content like the first ep of season one
here r my honest thoughts on sonic prime s3: SPOILER WARNING !! ⚠ firstly, it was pretty awesome, definitely my favourite sonic show. there was lots of action, and jokes that made me crack up. although, i felt like most of the episodes were about the characters fighting nine's robots in the grim. i did like the variants teaming up with the council though, it was an interesting plot twist i would have never expected, but they did betray everyone in the end. nine was pretty annoying in this season, i felt like he should of fought everyone himself instead of sending out robots to do his dirty work. but i'm glad that he came to his senses in the end, my favourite part was when he hugged sonic it was so cute
Sonic being way too goofy after the Tails variants “died” kinda ruined it a little bit for me. Would’ve been awesome to see most, if not all the variants died just like in the movie Rouge One. Also, Nine was just a secondary villain at most. An evil overpowered Exe Sonic variant would’ve been way cooler to see and be way more threatening. It was a somewhat enjoyable series, but it could’ve been SO much better imo.
When they are about to send Sonic back nine days “we can’t hold the portal open forever” so what I think that meant is that the other shatterspaces still exist, but the shatterspace containing Sonic’s world was cut off from the rest of them. And I guess doing that makes it so it never happened in his world even though Sonic and shadow were there to witness it. It might also explain why Sonic is much more accepting of help later in the series. But that’s just my thoughts.
They pulled a Sonic 2006 reset at the end because when Shadow takes the paradox prism that means that Sonic Prime does not exist and there is a paradox where that blast is from the first episode when sonic destroys Dr Eggman's fake robot so the show starts again.
@@epicfan1598 these events have to happen in a split timeline that loops itself so these events cant happen. they have to happen to not happen like in 06 Solaris isnt really dead but stuck in the fragments of time (Ian said smt like that before he became part of the canon lore team)
Maybe Sonic Prime’s ending is supposed to lead into the upcoming game that’s supposed to feature Sonic & Shadow and will tie up the loose ends of the show’s story.
I’ll be honest I wish they’d have a shadow verse or something. I need a series where shadow is the original and sonic was created from him. Give shadow a universe where he belongs and maybe create new characters for his world. The reason I believe he had chaos control is because the chaos crystals are the prism crystal. I think they need to be brought together in the Grimm to recreate exactly what they made at one time. Because honestly I believe they are fragments from shadows world. But I would seriously love it if they used this Sonic prime ending to bring it back and they realize the moment shadow used chaos on it and he disappeared and now the Grimm isn’t the Grimm but the chaos realm and shadow went home
Bro im gonna miss Sonic Prime.. I was at school and I was SO excited to see season 3.. I almost cried when I THOUGHT Mangey and Sails died.. there were a lot of close call deaths in season 3 and it was pretty cool to see that.. however I was very happy that Sonic got to see his REAL friends again after the trauma he went through in season 1 and 2.. overall the season was great and I can’t wait for Sonic 3 and I hope we get a main line Sonic game this year as well. Season 3 and Sonic Prime in general was 10/10
This is most definitely my favorite sonic show. Sonic's character was annoying at times but for the most part I liked it, he was very fun and energetic. As for the other characters I loved them all especially nine and shadow. The story was great but I didn't like the cliffhanger ending to season 3. Honestly I love sonic prime and I really hope we can get an actual conclusion in the future.
It seemed like Sonic came up with the idea to surrender to Nine at around eps 3 but people kept getting in the way until eps 7. If they just talked it out, Nine could've fixed everything from the start. Funny because it all started with Sonic not listening to his friends but got resolved when other characters started listening to Sonic. Weird.
i liked the entire season, but the ending just made me feel dead it inside. instead of everything just going back to normal and it just ending, i wish sonic still had time for a proper goodbye to all of the counterparts of his friends. the other thing i wanted is to be shown the aftermath of all the shatterspaces, how everyone is doing, what nine is up to, etc. keep everything else the same, but just with the additional scenes i mentioned. i feel like the ending would be more satisfying that way.
My thoughts are that the 24th episode was still in development so maybe in the 24th episode we will get more answers and more plot to what happened with all the characters and who they are fighting(there probably gonna fight the death egg robot and sonic might go super and defeat dr.eggman)
I genuinely confused on why people don’t understand the ending. I expected it as soon as I saw episode 1 of season 1. It’s pretty basic stuff for when your universe splits into multiplies so I’ll explain. Green hills is the husk of the shatterverse, meaning the other realities didn’t really exist and were just fragments of green hills reality. Once the paradox prism got reformed completely it got sent back to its place of origin (its husk in the green hill husk) however everything didn’t return to normal because it was still missing sonic. That’s why we saw green hill as its own shatter space, it was its own until Sonic returned, in which all shatte rspaces and the void reformed into the original world Sonic is apart of. The characters did exist but were just fractured or different versions of their whole.
I got my review up basically the second after I watched it but after I had some time to think about it I basically came to the same conclusion you did lol.
The ending was basically saying that everything is back to the status quo. As Sonic fans we all know that once one threat is thwarted it’s only a matter of time for a new one to emerge. I’m not saying it was a good ending but I get why it ended like that. Timeline wise it’s hard to say where it goes because of how insignificant it is to the overall narrative. The only thing that could gives us a hint is Rouge’s new design but they can be like “oh she just wore different clothes that day”.
I love that they’ve done Shadow’s character justice! seeing more of his personality. Shadow is the main reason I watched this show, I love Sonic and Shadow’s dynamic. I enjoyed this season, good story line and ending, thumbs up 👍
I *want* a 2nd season of Prime I love multiverse stories, character counterparts, ect. my headcanon is that something happened to the Paradox Prism, that caused that final wave and resulted in The Void and the Shatterspaces returning, the Prism acting like a portal to The Void while within The Void, that limited time Green Hill portal, became permanent making it possible for Sonic and friends to visit their counterparts Eggman to take control over the Chaos Council heck maybe even Sonic and Shadow counterparts are now around and/or new shatterspaces have formed
Shadow needed more screen time. Shadow is perfection. Do what you will with these thoughts. But did anyone else want someone to fall into the void that the chaos emerald fell into to see what would happen? They used it just to get rid of the chaos emerald, but I feel like they could have turned it into it's own dilemma, idk.
Hold on that actually makes sense! Since In Sonic Lost World Sonic kinda has a bit of an ignorant characterization such as destroying the conch without thinking and makes matters worse, just like he did with the Paradox Prism in Prime
shadow got the chaos emerald because when sonic and shadow got back to green hills they ended up before sonic destroyed the prism so time travel i guess
Sally was never on the table to come back. If Ian Flynn has to follow the same rules here that he does for the IDW comics, then he can't use any previously established characters that weren't created for the games. He can use the game cast or make up new characters, but that's it.
@@AussieDragoonSally could’ve easily been in there since it was WildBrain that made it. It’s total bs that they can’t ever get the rights to the Archie Comics. Makes ZERO sense!
@@danielwitz35Silver would’ve been totally awesome. I swear. Same with Blaze, Fang the Sniper, Bark the Polar Bear, Bean the Dynamite, and Dark Enerjak.
Im calling ian's bluff, the other shatterverses mostly got cut off from sonics world nine literally says himself "that gateway wont hold up for long" not even saying that their world will be wiped out and if the shatterspaces were really getting wiped out it wouldnt make sense as rebel literally said "we'll return home" so my idea is that since sonic doesn't have prism energy anymore he's not able to actually travel out of green hill OR i think that the gateway to sonic's world completely shut making it impossible for sonic to ever visit his other friends
Takes place either between Generations and Lost World or sometime between Unleashed and Colors. The Advanced 3 reference cuts off a lot. Kind of wish we got a Prismatic Sonic against a Prismatic Nine. That would've been awesome, and yeah, we are one episode short of the officially announced number of episodes. Wonder what that's about. Speaking of their fight, am I the only one who thought of The Fry Cook Games when they charged at each other like that at the start of it? Especially at the "I hate chili dogs" comment?
Episode 1 is double the usual episode length, so it may actually have been two episodes originally that got merged into 1 to leave a better first impression.
Lol at the end of episode 8 it played me a random clip from the sonic movie 2 so I thought it was saying that the blue light was movies sonics world but nope I found out it just played a clip from the movie lol
I think they left it open enough to end here or continue with another season. It all comes down to the amount of viewers and toy sales and if they think it’s worth it.
I was honestly hoping that the ending would be something along the lines of “hey, the shatter verse is infinite, therefore this might just be an alternate set of shatter spaces from the games.” I think it’s a decent ending, but I really have no clue how the writers can slot this into the timeline.
What's ambiguous or unresolved about the ending? They totally wrapped everything up. Shatterverse closed, Sonic matured as a character, Green Hill saved, and the gang goes on to fight the next big bad of the week.
Shadow: *having good characterizing* *World Resets* Shadow: *Bruh* Shadow: *having good characterization in sonic 06* *Timeline Resets* Shadow: **again💀**
I was exited to see this season. I was expecting to see more of shadow but like the last two season he got barley any screen time witch ticked me off. Over all 6/10
Should’ve been a better more threatening/overpowered villain like Evil Exe Sonic. Would’ve been way cooler to see than just Nine. Also, no Super Sonic, Super Shadow, Silver, Blaze, Bean the Dynamite, Bark the Polar Bear, Fang the Sniper? Can we just PLZ get more fan service???
Actually hold on we just got news that Duncan Rouleau says that There are no plans to make the show at the moment. Notice how he said “AT THE MOMENT!” Basically what he’s saying is that there are no plans at the time being. Which means that there is hope for a Season 4 none of this is confirmed by the way so just please don’t assume just have hope that a Season 4 could be a possibility!
6:56 I would have liked to have a scene where Sonic tells his friends all about the crazy shit that happened on that adventure and if they don't believe him then maybe they could meet the other versions of them from the different shatterspaces for proof but then that random threat came and even though we never got to see what the threat was still I think it was a good ending to the show to just zoom in on Sonic's face and then roll credits
I like to think that, since Green hill is also a shatter space, the other realms also all still exist. The world was reborn at the point where it was destroyed...letting sonic save the day and giving shadow back the chaos emerald [some how] unless the void just spat the emerald back into Green hill.. which is possible as Green hill was Rebuilt.. the chaos emerald could have just been Sucked in during reconstruction. [or respawned like when you drop a key off a cliff in Adventure.] In any case I like this thought because it means all the other worlds are fine and existing as they were before any of the prisms landed or caused trouble... or maybe like sonic and shadow they do remember everything and become better friends as they return to their homes and rebuild things.
Well the time was reversed where sonic clashed with the prism so i think neither the prisms never were merged and the fight against nine didn't happened and the chaos council is ruling over new yoke
@@kendraroth1276 Ghost hill, WAS Green Hill. It is litterally the same location, just devoid of life. You see Ghost Hill break apart. When it is put back together by Sonic and Nine it is restored back to Green Hill... since life was returned to it.
I give it 6/10 Mainly because of not much of shadow just like the other seasons, I wish he did more though with more of his powers, I was thinking like where is his chaos blast also why didn’t he use his full power when he needed it most
Ian Flynn said that the show takes place "sometime after" (not immediately after advance 3) so it's still canon along with Sonic Unleashed,Sonic Colors and almost 20 years of games but we (the fans) don't know where the show takes place as if yet so we might soon or later.
I mean it’s obvious really they are saving the 8th episode because we need to see what happens to shadow and they 24 episodes when they are 23 episodes the final is probably gonna be longest one yet
@@Zatanna_editsUh, no? It's says 23 episodes because the first episode of Season 1 is twice as long as a regular episode, so that counts as two episodes in one
I think ik how Shadow has the Chaos Emerald, So it sort of like goes back to that moment, as seen, It goes back to when they are fighting Eggman in the cave in the timeline yk, So While Sonic and Shadow remember going through the entire show, I think it plays like as if they never went but everyone who seen it may have memory of it idk, Idk if the other ShatterSpace Characters are alive but it is sort of like Shadow never lost the emerald
Whatever happened during the ending is I think what might be the lead-up to a possible 4th Season. I think that Sonic's character improved as the series continued, and it gets better and better. Maybe even hyper if you haven't seen it yet. Nine is also a good and interesting character, and I feel his character also improved. It's cool that it does the same with all the other characters. The only thing that is mid is of course the ending, so which is why half of me is asking for a Season 4. Think Season 2 takes the lead if you ask me. It was an amazing experience to watch, and cool that it's Canon, but they need to do something respectful for the ending. Let's hope we get answers in the future.
I just finished watching it, definitely the finale of all time that its the sole reason that drags the entire season down. It was so abrupt. The only way it make sense that everything got undone like that was that with the prism back in one piece, shadow and sonic need to come back to their own universe as the final piece to restore balance. When that happen, everything just undo'd itself to before the shatter. Since the shatter never happen, the chaos emerald never lost. Effectively this means the other shatterverse also doesnt exist anymore.
A bit late but when Sonic and Shadow came back to green hill, it was before the shatter so shadow not having the emerald instantly means he knew just which rock to smash to get it.
Hi! I’m newer fan of Sonic in general, and Sonic Prime is what really got me into it (along with the live action movies lol, I was surprised at how much i enjoyed those). I have a few takes on this last season so forgive me for my spitballing, I just like talking haha. First and foremost, I don’t know too much about the video game lore. It dates back before I was even born, so I’ve been picking up pieces of lore here and there. I think the whole “Sonic Prime being canon to the video games” thing is like, a terrible decision on Sega’s part. It’s a sure fire way to make people angry and over analyze everything. Plus, video games don’t really tie into TV shows and movies all that well in general. The live action Sonic movies did so well because they’re set in their own universe and are taking pieces of established lore and fitting it to that universe. Same goes for the FNAF movie. Video games are paced differently, and with a franchise as old as Sonic, it’s literally impossible to make everything perfect. It would be so much better if Prime was set in its own little spinoff universe or something. Goddamn it, why did Shadow get so little screen time?! He was my favorite part of the show by FAR. His interactions with Sonic were the highlight of the whole show. He was so so so interesting and he had SO much potential, especially in this last season where he can FINALLY travel into shatterspaces. But nope, they got rid of him in the first episode, only to bring him back for the finale. Seriously disappointing. DAMMIT GIVE MY BOY SOME SCREENTIME HES LITERALLY THE BEST PART OF THE SHOW Sonic’s characterization, imo, is really good. He’s a goofball and super skilled, but he’s flawed. And we see him mature throughout the series. I think it would have been cool to see a more cocky side to his character (we see most of that when he interacts with Shadow, which is partially why those parts of the show really stick out to me). Overall, Sonic was cool. He’s silly. I love him. I fucking love Nine. His character motive made SO much sense, and seeing him almost destroy himself with the Prism was genuinely heartbreaking. At the beginning of the season i couldn’t really take him seriously because he seemed so cartoonishly evil. But as the season progressed and he got more desperate, god, he was terrifying. Honestly, Nine is probably the only character in the show I genuinely care about besides Shadow and Sonic. This season as a whole was… underwhelming. And disappointing. The whole final fight took like five whole episodes. It was cool at first but it got boring really fast. Like I can only watch a giant metal bird get destroyed a few times before it gets predicable. I liked some of the moments with the shattered versions of Sonic’s friends but like, I don’t really care about them too much. I wanted Shadow and Sonic to actually work together. I don’t know. Overall, i really did enjoy the show. The action and character building was phenomenal (mostly). I wish they took the last season more seriously. Now I really want to write a fanfiction that just makes the ending better (put away your pitchforks I know i’m a huge nerd) but yeah, that’s my take. If you read all of this then wow, you’re insane lmao! Anyways have a great day!
I wouldn't agree with Ian Flynn because he had no part in creating the show Sonic Prime. Also you can't take anything Ian says as if it came from Sega. Sonic's world was restored a few moments before the event that destroyed it. It would be difficult to make it work if it was restored the exact moment Sonic destroyed it. If Sonic and Shadow remember, then it's possible that the others versions of Sonic's friends remember too. They did mention that the gateways would disappear, but it doesn't state that the other worlds would stop existing, so as far as I know only the access points of the worlds are gone. This is my opinion on part of the ending of Sonic Prime. As for the show itself, I enjoyed it.
Apparently. No matter what version of Tails it is, he is good with machines. Because Mangy some how knows how to operate and work high tech machinery, even though he lives in a place with NO technology what so ever!
It’s sad that tails didn’t meet nine because tails’ problem is they he’s too dependent by sonic wile nine it’s too independent so he could had a growth character
The blue blast and looming shadow really didn't mean anything to me. It was just a way to say the adventures keep coming for Sonic and pals. I think it was nothing in particular. Shadow obviously took it somewhere that mere mortals wouldn't find it. Shadow got the emerald back cause the shatter spaces reset back in time to before the shattering. I'm actually very happy the way it ended as a stand alone story that didn't impact anything in the major lore other than an origin for a more mature modern Sonic.
I didn't even know the show was supposed to be canon and I still thought it slacked off in the finale. I'll say that Shadow and all of the fight choreography were awesome and that I don't even mind that a good chunk of the season was a huge battle, but parts of the battle felt like it undid its own progress and the ending just didn't feel like an ending. Maybe it was just me, but I was expecting that the Shatterspaces only existed because the Prism and the world were shattered, so fixing the Prism would get rid of the Shatterspaces and restore everything back to one world...I mean, why else do none of the Shatterspaces have a Sonic or Shadow and why else would Nine feel so betrayed that Sonic only wanted to restore Green Hill if it didn't mean also ensuring his own destruction? When the show kept all of the Shatterspaces and said Green Hill just goes back to status quo with an Underminer Ending, it felt like Prime realized how grim (no pun intended) things were about to get and decided to swerve at the last second to avoid the upsetting realization of un-existing a lot of beloved characters. Maybe I'm crazy, but Sonic being in that kind of dilemma was a huge appeal for me (and explained Shadow's dismissal of the Shatter versions of everyone), so the ending felt like the show gave up on itself even without me expecting it to be canon. I also didn't get the impression that Prime wiped out its own events from what was shown, so that reveal from Ian Flynn is the biggest surprise in the show to me, heh heh! Credit where credit is due, though, Shadow was great, all of the action scenes were amazing, a lot of the Shatter versions of characters really grew on me and Sonic himself improved in the tail-end of the show.
ugh i was hoping a scene of super sonic or something or where sonic's original friends meet the others, i hope sega can clear this out and i dont know if anyone missed this or if its just me but i feel like the expressions on the characters in s3 seem more serious and less cartoony and more of a Unleased style. but overall i give s3 a 9/10

Nine is def one of the highlights of the show and his arc did not disappoint
Sails and mangey were underrated as a duo ngl
@@_NormalEditorSails and Mangey
@@_NormalEditor NGL, I was shocked when they were taken out so early, and was really worried. But their return was glorious and funny too. I wish they got more screen time and also got to have a direct scene with Nine.
I feel like the canon aspect is like between classic sonic and moder sonic saga. sonic prime having 2d artstyle of classic with green eyes.
I was bout to say that lol
*Let's be honest... this whole show was just about Nine's surprisingly good character development 👏.* Seriously, he needs to show up again, just so prime Tails can meet him
Maybe they can retcon Sonic Forces Tails while they're at it.
Tails meets Tails with clothes
The canon is it's after Advance 3. But Flynn said the whole the adventure was moot making me wonder what exactly was the point of making it canon? The only positive was the other characters being used more prominently and Shadow was the MVP.
Yeah there’s a lot of interesting discussion about this so I wanna hear everyone’s thoughts on it.
@@SonicHubYTthe thing is if it was proper cannon rouge wouldn’t be apart of sonics “team” in the series cos why would she be a main friend of sonics, also I feel like they are trying to revive rouge and have a focus on her recently as in dream team and sonic prime and hopefully sonic 3 so that’s why I think they put her in
@@Emziii1 They probably just want there to be another Girl in the main crew besides Amy and Rouge is more popular than Cream.
We can pretty maximize that the show can take place anytime after or around sonic colors since Orbot and Cubot exist

@@axiom6000 Makes zero sense, honestly. Ian Flynn just made Prime Sonic canon to the Sonic games because…why not I guess?
I agree so much! I honestly felt this same way in season 2 … like the fight scene are amazing but get tiresome because it becomes so repetitive
@@LordTylerBluGundersonNine was a pretty refreshing villain imo. And I would not want some fan-creation-like villain
The way how shadow got the emerald is because when they entered the gateway it went back in time to when the fight over the prism happened and shadow still had the emerald then so thats how he got it and sonic was acting "weird" to his friends and he knew tails was gonna say "sonic wait"
Edit: and since sonic and shadow discovered the shatterspaces and the void they were doing different things instead of what actually wouldve happend if sonic was gonna shatter the prism
Edit 2: i wish there was a full paradox prism sonic form in the season as well with all 5 shards cuz the prismatic sonic in season 2 was 4 shards
I'd love a final episode or frankly a season to be honest. Been loving this series. That cliff hanger did nothing but make me hungry for more.

Their lying, the DVD version says there are 4 chapters to this story. They just don't want to give it away.
Ughh!
@@LordTylerBluGunderson honestly, nine was a great villain, but that's ur opinion.
I can't believe one of the Eggmen called Shadow, "Edgelord" 💀
Also, the reason why Shadow has the Chaos Emerald is because it was before the shatter.
No more sidelining the canon versions of the cast.
i agree!! it doesn't need a 4th season but i wouldn't mind a short film being released just to give a more satisfying conclusion even just like 40 minutes of content like the first ep of season one
here r my honest thoughts on sonic prime s3:
SPOILER WARNING !! ⚠
firstly, it was pretty awesome, definitely my favourite sonic show. there was lots of action, and jokes that made me crack up. although, i felt like most of the episodes were about the characters fighting nine's robots in the grim. i did like the variants teaming up with the council though, it was an interesting plot twist i would have never expected, but they did betray everyone in the end. nine was pretty annoying in this season, i felt like he should of fought everyone himself instead of sending out robots to do his dirty work. but i'm glad that he came to his senses in the end, my favourite part was when he hugged sonic it was so cute
U wrote the same comment on masonparkinson's post 😅
Yea i found it pretty good too. Loved the ending.
@@radmilastupar4235you talking about mine?
@@radmilastupar4235 yea i did lol!!
It was a somewhat enjoyable series, but it could’ve been SO much better imo.
true, it would have been cool if we got sonic exe as a villain too!! but nine was a decent villain, he just overused his power.
I loved the post-credit scene in which Shadow used the Chaos Prism to finally get Latinas
It does exist bc sonic and shadow still remember
It can’t be the blast as we saw the shadow of something

Maybe Sonic Prime’s ending is supposed to lead into the upcoming game that’s supposed to feature Sonic & Shadow and will tie up the loose ends of the show’s story.
Hope so
I’ll be honest I wish they’d have a shadow verse or something.
Season 3 and Sonic Prime in general was 10/10
Maybe it could be a sonic prime game that could be amazing for it but its alr if we get another classic sonic game
I like to think the cliffhanger is eggman coming up to fight Sonic and his friends
It takes place after sonic colours, that at least I'm sure of because of orbot and cubot existing
Weird.
Yeah I felt most of the episodes leading up to the last were literally filler and unnecessary
We all have to agree that renegade knuckles punching nine is the most wholesome part of the whole series.
i liked the entire season, but the ending just made me feel dead it inside.
instead of everything just going back to normal and it just ending, i wish sonic still had time for a proper goodbye to all of the counterparts of his friends. the other thing i wanted is to be shown the aftermath of all the shatterspaces, how everyone is doing, what nine is up to, etc. keep everything else the same, but just with the additional scenes i mentioned. i feel like the ending would be more satisfying that way.
My thoughts are that the 24th episode was still in development so maybe in the 24th episode we will get more answers and more plot to what happened with all the characters and who they are fighting(there probably gonna fight the death egg robot and sonic might go super and defeat dr.eggman)
When one of the episodes was like warning photo sensitivity I was like HYPER SONIC?
Also, Ian being ambiguous about the timeline is hella annoying. There’s no way he doesn’t know how the new properties fit in with IDW.
I love that they’ve done Shadow’s character justice! seeing more of his personality. Shadow is the main reason I watched this show, I love Sonic and Shadow’s dynamic. I enjoyed this season, good story line and ending, thumbs up 👍
So basically. It's another sonic 06
Y'all need o remember that Orbot and Cubot were there for like a few seconds of the first two episodes
I *want* a 2nd season of Prime
I love multiverse stories, character counterparts, ect.
my headcanon is that something happened to the Paradox Prism, that caused that final wave
and resulted in The Void and the Shatterspaces returning, the Prism acting like a portal to The Void
while within The Void, that limited time Green Hill portal, became permanent
making it possible for Sonic and friends to visit their counterparts
Eggman to take control over the Chaos Council
heck maybe even Sonic and Shadow counterparts are now around and/or new shatterspaces have formed
There is a season 2, you mean 4?
@@kendraroth1276Oh, I wouldn’t have guessed that based off the way you worded it originally.

We need a new series with action as fast paced as this one with a legendary plot
I think they left it open enough to end here or continue with another season. It all comes down to the amount of viewers and toy sales and if they think it’s worth it.
I'm just sad we didn't get any more scenes of Prism Sonic
I was honestly hoping that the ending would be something along the lines of “hey, the shatter verse is infinite, therefore this might just be an alternate set of shatter spaces from the games.” I think it’s a decent ending, but I really have no clue how the writers can slot this into the timeline.
What's ambiguous or unresolved about the ending? They totally wrapped everything up. Shatterverse closed, Sonic matured as a character, Green Hill saved, and the gang goes on to fight the next big bad of the week.
I think the shockwave at the end wiped everyone’s memory
You are so right Sonic Prime Season 3 was awesome.
Fun fact, we might get more sonic prime soon, but the creator doesn't have plans in doing more
Maybe they will do a comic book of sonic prime which serves as a continuation
I wonder if the other Shatterverse realities still exist or were they just erased from existence
I watched season 3 and I loved it! Definitely better than season 1 and 2!

Shadow: **again💀**
I don’t think season 3 is done yet, we were supposed to get 24 episodes but we have only got 23, will we get the 24th episode?
I hope so, but it seems like the official accounts are saying it’s over now
I was exited to see this season.
It technically was 24 episodes still since the first episode in season 1 was 43 minutes
Don't you love it when the final episode of something boils down to. "It doesn't matter" sounds fun
[or respawned like when you drop a key off a cliff in Adventure.]
In any case I like this thought because it means all the other worlds are fine and existing as they were before any of the prisms landed or caused trouble... or maybe like sonic and shadow they do remember everything and become better friends as they return to their homes and rebuild things.
There will be 8th episode soon
Source?
6:10 Shadow truly is the Edge Lord 😎
Excited for Season 4!! (Hopefully)
If I’m not mistaken, episode four or five was two episodes so that would make eight episodes
Any one remember that few months ago there was a leak for s3 they said the season will have 24 episodes
Sonic Prime can't be right after Sonic Advance 3 because of Orbot and Cubot in the show.
DAMMIT GIVE MY BOY SOME SCREENTIME HES LITERALLY THE BEST PART OF THE SHOW
Sonic’s characterization, imo, is really good.
So like
Are we gonna talk about Nine's hideous animation error in episode 4 season 3-
Having thought about it, it would be cool if the Chaos Council returned at the end and the base forms have to meet their shatterverse forms.
It’s sad that tails didn’t meet nine because tails’ problem is they he’s too dependent by sonic wile nine it’s too independent so he could had a growth character
they really did a sonic 06 on sonic prime
Sonic X is my favorite sonic show to date
The blue blast and looming shadow really didn't mean anything to me. It was just a way to say the adventures keep coming for Sonic and pals. I think it was nothing in particular. Shadow obviously took it somewhere that mere mortals wouldn't find it. Shadow got the emerald back cause the shatter spaces reset back in time to before the shattering. I'm actually very happy the way it ended as a stand alone story that didn't impact anything in the major lore other than an origin for a more mature modern Sonic.
What if the ending to sonic prime is setting up the leaked sonic and shadow game for 2024?
Credit where credit is due, though, Shadow was great, all of the action scenes were amazing, a lot of the Shatter versions of characters really grew on me and Sonic himself improved in the tail-end of the show.
ugh i was hoping a scene of super sonic or something or where sonic's original friends meet the others, i hope sega can clear this out and i dont know if anyone missed this or if its just me but i feel like the expressions on the characters in s3 seem more serious and less cartoony and more of a Unleased style. but overall i give s3 a 9/10
I really kinda have a theory that the giant Big robot in that fight scene... DID SEGA STEAL THE PROWLER'S FACE (Marvel is gonna sue SEGA)
