I see what he did. He made these drum parts so difficult to ensure that he stays in the band because he's the only one who can play them, lol.
Rick Schmidt lmao!! i do the same in my band. i purposely write guitar solos that people cant replicate.
Jay weinberg can play this. 😂
Rick Schmidt 😆😆😆
😂
Ean Albe jay is good, but in my opinion has nothing on alex.
Drum level-
Beginner -> Intermediate - > Advanced - > Master - > Alex Bent
Beginner -> Intermediate - > Advanced - > Master - > God -> Alex Bent
Beginner - > Intermediate - > Advanced - > Master - > God - > Ultimate Life Form - > Alex Bent
Beginner -> Intermediate -> Advanced -> Master -> Asian -> God -> Chuck Norris -> Alex Bent
Me > Poop > Beginner > Intermediate > Advanced > Master > God > Ultimate Life Form > Asian > Chuck Norris > Mike Portnoy > Alex Bent
You obviously don't play drums.
Beginner -> Intermediate - > Alex Bent - > Master - > Super Master
I still don't believe that this is possible without breaking at least three laws of physics
Creamy Underpoon I'd check out some of his work in Arkaik. This shit is good, no doubt, but Alex's ability to (and metal drummers in general) seemingly defy nature increases as the music gets "heavier".
safe to say Alex, Bent the laws of physics on this song
Nick Rabauliman nice pun😂
BurnThePope I got Bent when I heard Alex’s drumming in Brain Drill’s Boundless Obscenity album. The guy’s like a machine gun.
Check Baard Kolstad and his Leprous playthroughs.
I think this dude is incredibly smart. Not just his understanding of how the drums work and his incredible talent, but how he understands what certain parts in these songs need. His fills and accents he puts in their new material just compliments each individual segment so spot on. It's almost like there's a science to it that just clicks in his head. Also he's really smart for promoting the band on his own time. With his North American Tour Diary and with these playthroughs. Even though Trivium has changed drummers so many times I don't see Alex Bent going anywhere. He meshes with the sound and his personality fits the band when you watch his diary's and if you watch his interviews he's like the most humble dude I've ever seen for his level of talent. Great work man, can't wait to see a lot more of you in the catalogue!
I gotta agree his drum parts are really creative without being over-the-top on the more simple parts. Everything serve the song well
couldn't agree more to all of what you said but i prefer the words hard work over talent, there's no way you don't work to being this good it can't just magically happen i'd like to appreciate all the hours he put in rather than just say he's talented and shrug it off
je moeder, I back what you're saying too. As a musician and somebody who has played guitar since I was 10 years old (which I am 25 now). It does take a lot of hard work and countless hours and dedication to elevate your skill level. But also when you're as good as Alex Bent is there has to be a certain level of just raw unfiltered unlocked talent associated with the hard work to get yourself to that height. One could argue that there are a lot of drummers that work just as hard at their craft but don't even touch this guy.
I'm just saying. Every musician gets better as they work hard. But every musician also has their own glass ceiling they can't break through.
I had the opportunity of hanging out with him here in Spain after the show when they came early this year. The guy is just humble and down to earth even though he's quite a beast. Since then I have a high esteem for him, is a really talented hard working person and a really cool dude. I really hope he remains the same in the coming years because he certainly is going to get bigger things in his career.
It's an absolute joy to watch you play. Thank you for these playthroughs! 🤘
Yeah he has a REAL talent !!
One thing I just realized about Alex: I haven't seen him tricking with his drumsticks even once, ever.
That just shows how down-to-earth guy he is, no unnecessary showing off, he doesn't have to do that: everyone sees how unbelievably talented he is already.
I've just seen many drummers in UA-cam to start throwing and spinning their drumsticks right after they think they can drum well enough.
Daniel S i guess when you‘re playing the way he rapes the drums, it is just not possible to trick lol
TheMetal well, that's a really good point...there is still a lot of slower sections in these songs where it could be possible. But yeah, spinning drumsticks while doing blastbeats would be really impressive :P
Like the last drummer, he definitely was about "look at me spin my sticks, even though no one cares about me, I am just the new filler drummer". Alex should be the new permanent member hands down!
he does one in the heart from your hate video
I used to freak out when Trivium had a new drummer like every week, but god damn, they have the best guy for the job now!
He's not a drummer, he is a drum.
trololOlla He likes to hang out with other drums, and is always on his way to go do drum, talks about drums.
I like how Alex stares at his symbols like he's communicating with his drums shows really how much time and patience it took to get to this level. He's looking at the drums like it's a part of him.
yes i agree
I was waiting for this! Fucking EPIC!
This is the shortest reaction you have ever done!
This dude is freaking amazing
Could I say that he is the best drummer that Trivium has ever had?
For sure
I love Travis Smith cause of the nostalgic value but this guy is light years beyond Travis' level... This guy is one of the most aesthetically pleasing drummer to watch and listen to and I really think when he joined Trivium the band seemed to be at home... He is the best drummer for Trivium and a healthy addition... I really hope they keep him.
Could honestly say he’s the best drummer, only few could compare
You could say that.
And I thought their previous drummer Paul Wandtke was for trivium. Paul is still good but Alex is a fkn beast
And thats why no one in youtube covers this song.
Ryan Kristoffer actually this one’s easier than The sin and sentence. Would like to ask Alex tho.. which song is the hardest according to him?
LarsUlrich26 Ulrich I might be wrong, but i think he said beyond oblivion was the hardest one. Or maybe not the hardest, but it required concentration.
Sin n d sentence is the hardest
@@dariusz_darson_8968 I’ve learned both, Beyond Oblivion is by far harder.
The indipendence of the limb is unbelievable. Each plays a different melody.
Even though he doesn’t show emotion on his face, I can still see the feeling and passion in his playing and body language. That is so impressive! It’s almost like watching someone who can see things that are moving lighting quick in slow motion.
Downright ungodly. I LOVE IT!
Spot on, not only is he a beast but he can soooooooo freaking good with his grooves meticulous and inspired plus the guys seems like a real down to earth guy!
finally a drummer worth talking about, fucking brillant keep this one, at least with him the guitar wont be the main focus anymore
best nike commercial
Nike Cortez to be exact haha
Favorite song on the album.
No Pe i think is the song with the best performance of alex
Alex Bent is something out of this world. His drumming puts Trivium to their peak more than they ever been. The dude is insane behind the kit!
I can’t be the only one who fast forwarded right away to 2:27🔥 Nonetheless, amazing work 🤘🏼
ebear1454 same
Yeah
that splash action before it kicks in is too fuckin sic! 🤘
But that means you missed 1:15 :)
I wanna get something pregnant after watching this! Fuck!
This is exactly the new blood and creative force Trivium needed. Alex is amazing
Alex Bent is not just a new drummer in Trivium, he is THE ONE AND ONLY Trivium's drummer !
His godlike skills, his unbelievable songs structure understanding, his humbleness behind the kit... every Bent playthrough video is a tropine injection right through the heart !
God bless that ride and that tempo!
I swear yall need to play this in the NEAR future. My favorite song off the allbum!
I agree, they;ve only been playing the same 3 songs on their tour. They need to bust out Sever The Hand and Beyond Oblivion live. Fans will go fucking bonkers.
Beyond Oblivion is on the next tour setlist
They can't go wrong playing any track from that cd, coming up.
I really hope Trivium will keep you in the band as a permanent drummer, Alex.
Keep rocking, you crazy bastard ! Trivium fans love you, man. \m/
Sever The Hand of anyone who dislikes this video.
Still noone
One dislike right now from the previous drummer I guess
4 dislikes. Hmm i guess its from all previous drummers
Guess there are 5 people with one hand now. How can you dislike this?
I think your comment had an effect just a few people feel like loosing their hand right now.
Seriously Alex, you are on your way to being the #1 drummer in the world. Your precision is unmatched. Your the best in my eyes!
THIS IS PERHAPS ONE OF THE BEST DRUM PLAYTHROUGHS I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY 23 YEARS OF LIFE.
You quickly became my favorite drummer once I heard this album. I absolutely love your playing style, and your technicality is incredible.
ALEX MOTHERFKIN BENT
Alex you are what Trivium needed, you are what Trivium should have had all along. I believe you fit well with the guys not just personality-wise (how you're mellow, down to earth and got your shit straight) but also playing wise and talent wise! Matt, Corey and Paolo are fking talented musicians and finally they have a drummer that is above and beyond their mark. I truly believe its your playing that got them motivated as well to write such a fking killer of an Album, you woke that in them. Thank you \m/
That face at 3:04 If you do reply I want to know if that was cause of pain or purely the pleasure that this song gives us...cause I make that face too listening to that part
Fawax Ali Thank you man! 🙏 They are very happy with me indeed. That face was just because I was feeling it and it’s a pretty heavy part hahaha ,cheers!
Alex Bent THE GOD REPLIEDDD XD... *fan girling hard*.. I know you guys barely have time, Thank you for the reply. A Trivium fan all the way in Pakistan is very happy today! \m/
I wholeheartedly believe Alex is responsible for breathing new life into Trivium. This guy is a monster!
No face expressions, just pure love, concentration and passion for what you're doing
Man...I love you 😍❤️😂
Seldomly seen a drummer using his whole set so adequate. you're really doing your job so unbelievably good. that's what trivium needed, a drummer that is able to put an impact on their sound.
Alex is hands down the best drummer Trivium has ever had, I hope Alex will post more drum playthroughs even if they aren't Trivium songs, just any song and him just messing around would love to see more videos like this from him.
I've been drumming for about 15 years. Alex is one of the best drummers I've ever seen. This dude seriously impresses me
This. Is. GOLD.
From the Depths NJ do you guys have anything on spotify? I just found out about you guys like 30 seconds ago lol
Jack Jekyl we do actually. We have music Spotify, iTunes and bandcamp, as well as here on UA-cam. Unfortunately, we just ended our run on January 7th. But the music is still available for free.
- Jon \m/,
So you guys are no longer a band then...
Jack Jekyl you are correct... :(
Favorite song on the album! Amazing drumming as always! 🤘
Finally the drum playthrough for my most favorite song on the album... #AlexBent you fucking kill whatever you play and that’s nothing new but hands down to say you are the best drummer in the legacy of #Trivium.. Period !!!! Hope Trivium keeps you forever...Hails support 😎😎😎🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Just watching this makes me stare in awe at his mastery and control over each part of the body and the mindpower that takes to do holy shit
One of the strongest souding drummings of the CD for me...
Missed your updates Alex, I love it thanks a lot !!
Double bass beast \m/ love this song !!! Awesome vid and drums !!!
Amazing the best drummer if ever I see until now.
Alex is a fucking legend. A true professional
Thanks for making Trivium cool again, this is the best album since Ascendancy. Alex Bent, you are the best drummer for this band, i hope you stay un Trivium a very long Time.
Absolute beast! I love the smoothness and ruthlessness at the same time! Amazing!
This man is amazing. Never disappointed with his work. Super clean and with a band that deserves his skill.
You fit in Trivium perfectly. I could watch you playing drums all fckin day
We need more playthroughs from you bro
Can't beat the Aquarian bass drum heads period! Uses remo for everything but everybody uses the Aquarian bass drum heads, they are beast! Alex, you've recently become my favorite drummer, you blew me away in Dallas a couple weeks ago!!!
Alex is the PERFECT fit for Trivium!
Not only has Alex rekindled my appreciation of all things Trivium and kick ass metal drummers but I also think I may install those mini Zildjians where I spend most of my time...office, bedroom, vehicle, shitter, etc. Double bass is respectable but to work in the pie-tins at just the right time is fucking art.
Favorite song on the album. So stoked you did a playthrough of this. This rips man!
I am OBSESSED with learning this song particularly the double kick blastbeat.
Yes my favorite song off the album! Alex you’re the man!
By far the best drummer Trivium has ever had, and one of the best drummers in metal right now, period.
0:53 Best Metal Breakdown Ever
Alex, you are an absolute fucking animal! You and Pete from Havok are my two favorite modern drummers. You both play to a jaw-dropping level. Unreal, brother!
Some say he has 3 legs...
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
He has the legs Pewdiepie doesn’t have
Sounds weird. :-D
THE best thing that happened to Trivium is Alex! Groove, feel, speed, techninque, taste, Zildjians (haha) and just a down to fucking earth dude that lets his drumming do ALL the talking!
Such a musical, dynamic drummer. Dude plays SONGS on the drums. Love it...
Simply perfect. ♥ I envy a lot who plays drums with such mastery.
Man Alex is the BEST Trivium drummer so far hands down...
The sound quality is pure eargasm. Flawless !
Finally! The track I've been waiting to see!
This man is a beast! Never seen drums played like that before! Finally trivium gets the right drummer!
Dude, you REALLY put some fucking life back into this band, you're a hero.
A death metal drummer that can put in quite a bit of grooves. From the start, Trivium seemed to have a great groove base. Love it, and he is sooooo fucking relaxed looking!!! God it pisses me off(in a good way)
5 minutes and 42 seconds of Alex being an absoulte hell of a drummer
Alex!!! You're the Best!!! Quédate en Trivium siempre!.
Simply amazing.
2:27 - 4:07 is absolutely the best fucking part of this album which is a masterpiece btw...Trivium better keep this drummer!!!
pinoymetalhead absofuckinglutely.
Alex, you are fucking amazing! I am so fucking happy that you are in my favorite band in the entire world! This was, just as the rest of your work on, The Sin and The Sentence, SICK!!!!
LIIIIIIIIIIIFE BUUUURNS ME ALIIIIIIIVE! Esse cara é uma máquina, o melhor baterista que já passou pelo Trivium. Espero que ele nunca saia da banda!!!
Hell yeh man you are fuckin killing it!!
That was pure controlled chaos at its best! The composure...
Thank you man. Thank you 🙏🙏
Alex you a beast man!! Your chanel deserve much more followers! Hope see you guys next year here in Brazil!
I love the kind of cymbal work Alex has
This is so amazing. I'm not a musician, but I thought this video to be really inspiring, for no matter what we do in life. Keep being awesome, Alex.
Of course his drum work is incredible but his use of cymbals has given me such a new appreciation of their importance in writing tracks
Legend has it that Alex Bent has three legs and three arms.
Alex Alex, awesome! technical 10/10. perfect...
One of my favorites off the album!!!! Alex is badass
Damn you are such a machine!!!! Im already so hyped to see Trivium live again with you as their new and absolute awesome drummer🤘
hadn't listened to trivium in a while last album i heard was with the song black this particular song is what makes trivium good when they show out like this is what i like about them the most and when they play their songs live they add a little extra sauce to em so i can imagine this live
So much variation in the cymbals and so talented!
i can never get enough of 2:26. damn this man is a beast.
I love your work with the splashes! That's how to use 'em right👍👍👍
not such a fan of the music genre but the drumming is as good as it gets. my jaw is on the floor watching this.
Really can't wait anymore for the playthrough of "The Revanchist"!!!
Alex is just on fire on this album!!
Alex, thanks for this video. Incredible song and your drum part is extraordinary!!! Greetings from Germany!
I knew the breakdown was nasty but WHOO BOY seeing it in a drum playthrough is pure filth
1:37 Every time I watch this or listen to this chorus, I get chills. I love his use of cymbal accents. And his movements are so smooth, fluid, and effortless that its ridiculous.
You, my good sir, are a godly beast of the drum! Hope you'll stay in Trivium, they now NEED you! =P
Yeaah! My favorite song from this album! Drum parts are amazing Alex! \m/
Such a great player, now we NEED The Revanchist!
Feel power💪 Greetings from Poland!
How much more you got up your sleeve Mr.Bent these drum playthroughs are so satisfying to watch and makes me want to pick up the drums as well! Keep rocking out man! \m/
My new favorite drummer!!..I'm a guitarist and I've watched all your vids a bunch dude. Love your style, keep the vids coming.
Holy shit! Alex is the best drummer I’ve seen play and I’ve seen a shit ton. Not to mention the songs he plays are long and his technique is amazing
I felt like the band had new energy when I first heard the album - it’s so obvious where that comes from once you watch this man play!
He's so in control of what he's doing! It's amazing!
