I love the originals, once I graduate me and my friend are thinking of visiting there and I actually want to live there. I want to try the beignets there too, I here they are delicious😍🤤. But then there is the jazz, if it wasn't for the originals I probably wouldn't be listening to jazz but here I am listening to jazz and letting my feelings go and feeling the music and once I feel the music I can relax😊. I wonder how it would be if I were to here a live show of jazz playing, I think it will be as delightful as listening to it here on UA-cam but there it is peaceful and relaxing when hearing the jazz music play throughout the day. I really want to to live there so bad, but I'm going to have to wait 2 or 3 years. To which the years are going by slow and I have patience. So New Orleans, I will visit you soon...I hope😅.

Wether it be the fireflies and mosquitoes, the gators, the street lights or the people playing music on their radios in their homes, the place never sleeps.

Hi Patrick, thank you for the feedback. You're right, the African influence on New Orleans music can trace its roots at least back to Congo Square in New Orleans in 1835. African music was played as well as local music, including that of local white composers, such as Louis Moreau Gottschalk. Along with European musical forms that were popular in the city, including the brass band traditions, the cultural mix laid the groundwork for the New Orleans musical art forms to come.
Your answer means that you place on the same level white and black influence in New Orleans music. This is obviously wrong concerning jazz music which was quite exclusively played by black people in its origins. Anyway, even if you’re right, why your picture shows only whites ?
Hi Patrick, I am the composer and recording artist of this album. And I am neither Caucasian nor African decent if you must classify people. I am an Australian recording artist and of an oriental decent. As a musician, I play music as I hear them, there is no race or creed distinction for me. It just so happened when this video was produced, the first thing that popped into my mind was of the influence of Dixieland music. And to be honest, I have no interest nor inclination to further any disputes over how one's race is better than the other in whatever arts I am involved in. I hope this answers your question.

First point, this is not New Orleans music, and secondly, since 'Katrina' there is a vast reduction in Black Americans in New Orleans, possibly due to sending them to Texas, which is difficult to get back from when you have no money to spare for the fare back. These old sepia photo's were taken at a time when Black Americans were treated as low life beings and segregation was the norm. Taking pictures of them would have been frowned on.
