Ed, I'm a few years younger than you. I, too, was taken to the Casino in the Forties when I was young, It was was in Manhattan not Brooklyn. What I was remember most was that a pitcher of beer was $1 and my best friend's bohemian parents insisted I drink with them, a habit I resisted, but, I'm happy to say, no longer do. I had an entirely different impression. The evening ended with a lot of white guys playing WHEN THE SAINTS GO WATCHING IN as loudly as they good while a lot of drunken Ivy League guys and their dates screamed and shouted. This put me off Dixieland for years, and it wasn't until twenty years later when a pal played me one of Jack Teagarden's 1960s Roulette recordings that I finally came to appreciate what wonderful music it could be. Still do.

I absolutely LOVE New Orleans and EVERYTHING about it. What a magical place! I never even liked jazz until visiting New Orleans and now it warms my heart.
I'm a Portuguese girl fascinated not only by the music of New Orleans but also with culture/legends etc definitely one day will be walking through your old streets and having a good bourbon while listening to amazing music like the one I'm listening right now 🙏🏼🥰
There is absolutely no reason this place and its culture should be so beautiful and magnificent, and yet it is, and me and my family are blessed enough to be a part of this wonderful community 🙏 Blessed be, to the land I call home and all those who dream of its otherworldly wonder. 💖✨
The first visit to New Orleans, I saw Al Hirt and Pete Fountain. Then I went on active duty with the army. I kept hearing the music while crawling in the dirt.
OMG I LITERALLY ADORE NEW ORLEANS AND WHOLE IRELAND YOU GUYS ARE SO LUCKY. I LIVE HERE IN GERMANY AND WE HAVE ACTUALLY NO OTHER CULTURE THAN 'KARNEVAL' AND THE OKTOBERFEST
Mr. Magoo Really? And Miami is also one of the places I want to visit. Idk but everything is better than Germany. Germany is also great but there are so many trees. I cannot see trees anymore haha. Where do you want to live exactly? I would recommend you either Hamburg or Cologne. Berlin is not as great as many ppl think and Munich is such a great city but there are a lot of people who discriminate foreigners. Mannheim is also great. I live in Mannheim and this is where a lot of foreign ppl and refugees are. We also have one American quarter it is fron the 2nd world war where the americans were here. :)
Miss this so much, grew up in New Orleans, right by the river,we’d take the ferry to the aquarium and the French quarter, eat real amazing food, like ground patty, the most amazing burgers you ever had, listen to all the live music, and then go home at the end of the day, stupid hurricane took all that away and now we’re stuck in Texas, which is nice, but it’s not home. Sadly most of the stuff I grew up with is long gone now, like Ground Patty.
Listening while getting my chemo treatment. Went to Waikiki before I got sick. This brings back great memories. Thank you. I am also a Navy wife so THANK YOU to all for your service. ⚓

Do you though? That's what makes New Orleans unique. New York has plenty unique things going for it. The hustle and bustle of one of the biggest metropolis' on Earth being on of them
I live in Pensacola Fl and for 12 years made the trip to the Big Easy. My reserve unit was on the Westbank, so many weekends in the quarter and beyond. It's another world with the jazz and the smell of Gumbo and cajun food. Nothing like a trip through the French market. Good times.
This is a fabulous melody and gives me inner peace whenever i listen to it.so i can really relate when you say you listen to it while working around the house.😊
My old dad used to play jazz and blues piano by ear. He 'acquired' radio from a Sunderland flying boat at the end of the war and when I was born in '53, he still had it. This thing was so powerful it picked up the entire eastern seaboard of the US. I was raised on jazz, blues, country, bluegrass and folk! I did my pilgrimage to the US as a callow youth in 1975 and worked for a few months in a fairground in Myrtle Beach before buying a rover ticket on the Greyhound and going to, you guessed it, New Orleans and Nashville. Nashville was a disappointment, but New Orleans was most certainly not and I remember to this day just sitting cross legged on the floor in Preservation Hall, enraptured by these old guys tearing my heart out with every precious note!
New Orleans is my favorite city to visit. Walking through the French quarter streets hearing jazz float threw the air by the street musicians is my favorite thing in the world.
I am from Mobile, Alabama but lived in New Orleans for a few years until Katrina. Since I moved away from the South I've missed jazz music, that soulful music, exactly this music!!! It speaks to me and brings me home every time I hear it! 😍😍😍 I'm visiting now and have been playing this since I got in town and love it. Thank you so much for sharing!!! Well done! 🙌🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏

Wowwww....Classic I am from Namibia from the motherland continent of Africa and boy....i had a blast when i visited New Orleans. And the music is super classic I had great time at Café Du Monde. Any how I am back home now hope to visit again.
my 20 month old daughter loves Disney's the Princess and the frog, of course set in new orleans. she's in bed now and here I am making chicken taco ready for my wife to come home to from work, listening to this playlist. wonderful :)
I live an hour away from NOLA. I visit all the time, jazz really showed me my passion for playing music and I couldn't love New Orleans more than I already do.
Loving this playlist. Great for listening to while cooking dinner, while cleaning up after dinner, while eating, while in the shower, while taking sime time out, just winding down after work... well... for any thing really😊
I live in Louisiana and have visited New Orleans several times in my life. It’s definitely somewhere everyone should visit once. Living there is a different story. But definitely lots to do, see, hear, and most importantly eat!
I went to new Orleans in august...I have the urge to go back again and again this brings me back to my trip and reminds me of walking down Frenchmen street where jazz was practically in the air.
I used to listen to this every day while I was a part of my school's jazz band. Then, due to scheduling, I dropped jazz band. Not a day goes by that I don't regret it. I'm trying to get back into the jazz band and play my trumpet after 2 months 😬. This will be my all time favourite musical video
I envy you SB! There are those of us who have to make do with LPs,CD's and snatches from cellfones, I too LOVE N.O and ALL its musicians, I wish the rest of the world would follow this instead of warring.
I'm 15 and born and raised in Mississippi but my mom and her siblings were born and raised in New Orleans and I've heard so many stories its almost like I've lived there my whole life, I just love the place! It's been so long since I've been, I've yet to ride a trolly car or the ferry but I will one day! One of my goals is to get a vacation home there, I also whole-heartedly believe that one of my past lives was a woman from 1900's New Orleans cuz everytime I look at pictures from then I get a nostalgic feeling for a childhood I've never had, it's such a welcoming place where you can be yourself and everyone just embraces it flaws and all! just love it there!♡
I was in NOLA in 2017,walked down Bourbon Street. It was magical, live music every where. I want to go back. It was awesome!! I also saw live butterflies.
I cannot remember the day I felt in love with Jazz but i am glad that when i went to New Orleans i was already a fan and was able to enjoy everything the city has to offer. Dying to go again. Thank you for the music
Every little while, I hear this kind of jazz in a movie or as a ringtone or alarm, and I like it. So I am happy to find out what it's called, and can come back to it and just plain enjoy the lively tunes

Reminds me of all the nights sitting on the balcony at Dat Dog listening to the bands on Frenchman Street. I left New Orleans years ago now but it still pulls at my heart with both hands. On some level it will always be my true home

Someday, even for a week, I will be in New Orleans, feeling very happy because of the jazz, people and the city. It's gonna be fabulous! It's gonna be great! It's gonna be lovely!
I hope you get to visit NOLA soon, Viktoria.
@@lewisluongrelaxation I appreciate that. Thank you! ❤️
My wife and I adore New Orleans. We go whenever we can.
That's wonderful, @schkoopdawhoop7885
I absolutely LOVE New Orleans and EVERYTHING about it. What a magical place! I never even liked jazz until visiting New Orleans and now it warms my heart.
What's just so wonderful, Michele.
I'm getting those Princess and the Frog vibes listening to this.
:-O
I'm a Portuguese girl fascinated not only by the music of New Orleans but also with culture/legends etc definitely one day will be walking through your old streets and having a good bourbon while listening to amazing music like the one I'm listening right now 🙏🏼🥰
I hope you get to visit New Orleans soon, Suellen.
This place and music make me betther, make me fill betther
Awesome
There is absolutely no reason this place and its culture should be so beautiful and magnificent, and yet it is, and me and my family are blessed enough to be a part of this wonderful community 🙏
Blessed be, to the land I call home and all those who dream of its otherworldly wonder. 💖✨
Wonderful.
897 souls unhappy in life. How can they not like this heavenly music. Beats me.
The first visit to New Orleans, I saw Al Hirt and Pete Fountain. Then I went on active duty with the army. I kept hearing the music while crawling in the dirt.
I am a New Orleans boy not only cause I was born there but it will forever be in my heart and soul! :)
im from ireland been to New Orleans once but that was enough for me to get a taste or the big easy and now i want to go back
Ireland is steeped in a history and culture of its own. i reccomend coming here plus we have some absolutely stunning scenery

München ist vor allem teuer. Ich dachte, München wäre eine der toleranteren Städte in Deutschland?
Miss this so much, grew up in New Orleans, right by the river,we’d take the ferry to the aquarium and the French quarter, eat real amazing food, like ground patty, the most amazing burgers you ever had, listen to all the live music, and then go home at the end of the day, stupid hurricane took all that away and now we’re stuck in Texas, which is nice, but it’s not home. Sadly most of the stuff I grew up with is long gone now, like Ground Patty.
Thank you for sharing these great memories.
Listening while getting my chemo treatment. Went to Waikiki before I got sick. This brings back great memories. Thank you. I am also a Navy wife so THANK YOU to all for your service. ⚓
this is absolutely beautiful. I wish more cities could adopt this strong jazz culture like in New Orleans
Hi, I am glad that you enjoyed this New Orleans music collection. I think you may also like this Cafe Society inspired album here: ua-cam.com/video/nQffeSXy-No/v-deo.html
Yep. Only NY could even compete
Good times.
Great memories.
I listen to while working around the house. As I work, I dancing all around! it brings joy to the heart!
Hi Deborah, I am glad that you liked this New Orleans jazz collection. I hope you have a nice day.
This is a fabulous melody and gives me inner peace whenever i listen to it.so i can really relate when you say you listen to it while working around the house.😊
Hello Deborah you have quite a gorgeous smile.
I watched too much disney again and now I couldn't sleep happily without this since the depression always comes when you're not distracted
I hope you have a nice weekend.
Hi John, I am glad that this New Orleans jazz collection brought back great memories for you.
I love it!
I am glad that you liked this New Orleans jazz collection, TheAnaniel
I've been to New Orleans and I want to go back and visit it again. Maybe one day for mardi gras.
I hope you will be able to visit New Orleans again soon.
New Orleans is my favorite city to visit. Walking through the French quarter streets hearing jazz float threw the air by the street musicians is my favorite thing in the world.
Wonderful memories.
Well done! 🙌🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏

Jazz music is so beautiful! It also reminds me of Disneyland because whenever I listen to Jazz music from New Orleans, it feels like I'm walking through Main Street USA and New Orleans Square. Truly a beautiful and magical experience.
Sounds wonderful.
Hearing this makes me miss home I haven't been back to New Orleans scene 2015 when my grandmother passed away.

I live an hour away from NOLA. I visit all the time, jazz really showed me my passion for playing music and I couldn't love New Orleans more than I already do.
Awesome!
Loving this playlist. Great for listening to while cooking dinner, while cleaning up after dinner, while eating, while in the shower, while taking sime time out, just winding down after work... well... for any thing really😊
Sounds great!
I went to NOLA for the first time back in october, was enchanted by the magic of the city. Yearning to return to this beautiful city
Hi Jose, I hope you'll be able to visit Nola again soon.
I live in Louisiana and have visited New Orleans several times in my life. It’s definitely somewhere everyone should visit once. Living there is a different story. But definitely lots to do, see, hear, and most importantly eat!
New Orleans is famous for its music and food indeed.
anyone keeps getting the urge to like every other song before realizing that its all one video. quite a lotta good ones in here
I went to new Orleans in august...I have the urge to go back again and again this brings me back to my trip and reminds me of walking down Frenchmen street where jazz was practically in the air.
Hi, beatthecrowd001. The culture and atmosphere on Frenchman street is awesome.
Frenchman is the “happening” place. Bourbon is way over commercialized.
Just recently took my 1st trip to The Big Easy... and oh how I would love to go back.. listening to this New Orleans jazz is making me so happy.
I hope you get to visit Nola again soon.
I used to listen to this every day while I was a part of my school's jazz band. Then, due to scheduling, I dropped jazz band. Not a day goes by that I don't regret it. I'm trying to get back into the jazz band and play my trumpet after 2 months 😬. This will be my all time favourite musical video
I hope you get to join the jazz band again.
Hutchlogan 11, Keep at it,don't 'loose your lip',hard work but well worth the effort. Good On ya! Best wishes.
This puts me right back in the city. Haven't been able to visit for a few years, but man, it really gets into your soul.
I hope you get to visit NOLA again soon.
NOLA born and raised and still living here! Love My City!
Thank you for this upload!
You're most welcome, Snootches Bootches
+Snootches Bootches Very lucky!
One of my goals is to get a vacation home there, I also whole-heartedly believe that one of my past lives was a woman from 1900's New Orleans cuz everytime I look at pictures from then I get a nostalgic feeling for a childhood I've never had, it's such a welcoming place where you can be yourself and everyone just embraces it flaws and all! just love it there!♡
Hi Sarah, I hope you get to visit New Orleans soon.
Jazz is truly the best I went to New Orleans once and I'm dieing to go back..I LOVE JAZZ!!! What a fire jazz play list love it so much

Every little while, I hear this kind of jazz in a movie or as a ringtone or alarm, and I like it.
So I am happy to find out what it's called, and can come back to it and just plain enjoy the lively tunes

That's wonderful!
Reminds me of all the nights sitting on the balcony at Dat Dog listening to the bands on Frenchman Street. I left New Orleans years ago now but it still pulls at my heart with both hands. On some level it will always be my true home
Hi @jarodarmstrong509, I am glad that this music collection brings back fond memories for you.
I clicked on this as music to do my housework to, and now I can't get enough of it ! I hated jazz but just love this !
