This reminds me of the late sixties/early seventies when my wife and I would go to smokey little coffee houses or jazz nightclubs and dance away the night. We so enjoyed the music and I cherish the memories. She's gone now but will never be forgotten. Thank you for the music and the memories.

Excellent selections! I have played harmonica 48 years and was full-time pro by age 20. I play many gigs/sessions as a "hired gun", side person guest and/or studio sessions but in my last band of 10 years we were primarily known as a Swing Dance, Jazz & Blues Band and we featured female vocalist material but even without a singer we could hold an audience on a 3 hour gig doing all instrumentals.....that would include 6 of the 12 songs on this play list. Plus, we had many more along these lines, going from Swinging Jazz & Blues, with other standards and some originals mixed in. There is a space for these kind of grooves even though so much music is far in another place! We people are in a live setting and you bring them this material they love it! Thanks for posting this cool collection.

The melody that makes some songs so endearing to begin with should never be completely lost in extended pyrotechnics; at least that's what I tell myself as a longtime popular music organist.

been listenin' six years next month. you seem to have done much more over the past eight or ten months than the five or so years before &thanx for that. i find i recommend it much more to anyone slightly interested in jazz & blues... such a cross section. how any one could think the genre is even in decline is beyond me. there is not yet one musician, soloist or group that hasn't recorded blues or jazz in the last 50-60 years. the music & the performers are both the better for it. it will live on in many forms as ray charles aluded to just before he released a c&w albumn. thanx for your work
