Our Black-New Orléans secondline ancestral footwork dance culture has nothing to do with you!!!
Fat Tuesday the start of a great time for New Orleans!!!
I am from Louisiana and the Mardi Gras Music is always NICE and very UPBEAT!!!!! #FACTS
I'm from Virginia and just moved over to Arkansas, but my dad's from Louisiana so I hope I might get to go to a Mardi Gras celebration at some point. (He says he doesn't want to take my mom, sister, and me to New Orleans for it though. Is it really crowded or something?)
Born & raised in Houma....live in Richmond,Virginia now
and other countries say Americans don't have culture, look at this magic!
SomethingTabz AJ Well it’s actually a festivity originated around 17th century in Europe so i wouldn’t say it’s your culture, but hey if it makes you feel better...
@@agustinandreu1058 ~ I believe Lem was referring to the music, which is indeed all American. Born in New Orleans in the early 1900s. *Dixieland Jazz* at it's finest. :-)
BTW - The roots of Mardi Gras / Fat Tuesday, / Shrove Tuesday / Carnival began waaaay before the 17th century.
Lived down there for 12 years! I miss it! There's no place like Nola.
I think they mean white Americans
Agustin Andreu originated there but was then turned into its own New Orleans tradition when people from all over the world started moving into New Orleans and adding their own culture aswell. It's all a melting pot which today we known as New Orleans culture
Thank you to France for bringing Mardi Gras to America!
VOYEUX MARDI GRAS!
This Dixie Land Jazz with one Mardi Gras song but it is all GREAT. I was born in Louisiana and enjoyed our food , music and culture. Moved to Georgia, miss the food and music. Still go back every year for the great food , music, and family.
😊 okra 🍆🍈
Some of the things I really miss about Louisiana was that King Cake and Mardi Gras.
BEIGNETS! Oh MY how I MISS THEM! (!thank GOODNESS for ZATARAINS permanence in groceries! Incidentally: Just had a Wegmann’s open here in NC...can’t help but wonder if this new chain of grocers is just a shortened version of Schweggmanns
Man, it feels so good to say I'M GOING BACK HOME. NOLA, this lil roguish revolutionary rebel will be home in one week. Roll out the welcome home carpet!
They must never have cometo Louisiana, we have more fun here than anywhere
this is beautiful, I feel like most of these tracks are gospel- well known tunes but they put that jazzy flavor it.
I'd love listening to this any day. thank you guys
Which tracks would you consider gospel?
THats New Orleans Jazz in a nut shell and throw some african chants into the mix and you got it!!
@@my2cents2u oh when the saints go marching in, I want to be in that number Oh when the saints go marching in. That's gospel right?
Great music, and perfect for our work Mardi Gras party - we view it on the big screen during the party and it's colorful, sounds great, and safe for work :)

Sad so sad 😢
I hate deth
So Seth so much
i have vist NEW ORLEANS had the time of my life and had so mach fun
@Knight of talos make sure you say it a little louder so we can prented we care
@Knight of talos Not really. I believe they had carnival around New Years Eve where as New Orleans (which was started by people from Mobile) Started in 1857. Mobile didn't move their celebration to the present time until 1868. I also wouldn't say they are the king because of the magnitude of New Orleans Mardi Gras. Bigger Parades and floats as well as more of them. All the famous songs about Mardi Gras is from New Orleans. Most you probably don't play in Alabama due to the text in which they mention New Orleans. So, you may have had some type of carnival before New Orleans, but it wasn't really Mardi Gras until you moved it to the right season.
@Knight of talos no. New Orleans is way better
@Knight of talos do you rly consider throwing Tootsie rolls off of trucks and platforms Mardi Gras?
@Knight of talos you just admitted we do it bigger. Being first doesn't make you king.
Being homesick prior to this then listening to this made me feel right wyte home 3000 some odd miles away
It's That Time Of Year, Again, Folks!!! Doubloons!!! Mardi Gras Beads!!! Mardi Gras Throws!!! King Cake!!! Cajun And Creole Food!!! Mardi Gras Jazz Music!!! It's Mardi Gras!!! Happy Mardi Gras 2024!!!
Let the good times roll!
Have a happy 2023 Mardi Gras everyone💜💚💛🧚♂️🧚♀️🦚🌶🍹🍤🎠🎉🃏🎭📿👑⚜️

I only experienced this once but in Florida. Wore the beads and ate tasty food. The jazz was loud, people were on the swing of things, a real fun party.

BEST CITY IN THE WHOLE WORLD!
FBA-New Orléans Jazz music culture🎷🎺🎼
Lordy I miss Mardi Gras, They don’t have em up anywhere else in the country, I live in Virginia now. New Orleans crime rate may be bad and it may flood often, but it’s home.
Actually Mobile is the birthplace of Mardi Gras and they are still having it this year. As well as Pensacola. New Orleans just stole the history. Look it up.
"Stole"? "Stole"? If you did proper research on how the American Mardi gras celebration(s) began instead of following the same 'ol delusional misconception many Mobilians seem to espouse, you would see how it was a collaboration between Mobile citizens and New Orleanians who formed those "mystic societies" back and forth MUTUALLY thus you have American Mardi gras, no one "STOLE" anything, READ AND DO PROPER RESEARCH instead of jumping on this "stole" bandwagon that uninformed and misinformed Mobile citizens continue to espouse....STUDY YOUR OWN DOCUMENTED HISTORICAL RECORDS FIRST, no one's disputing the fact that Mobile started the first ORGANIZED Mardi gras celebration(s) except some uninformed and misinformed New Orleanians, but-I repeat-no one STOLE anything, it was a MUTUAL collaboration, not a THEFT, lol, c'est tout. ⚜️ ⚜️ ⚜️

The Demon Deacons of Wake Forest University
love this.
This is great audio like a CD but you tube videos are so much more. Where else can you find audio/video of musicians performing live especially in the streets of New Orleans. The music industry is so far behind in not manufacturing audio/video DVDs on flash drives people can plug into USB ported blue ray players or the latest HD TVs.
Why would they sell them on USB drives when you can download them yourself? Because of the Internet you don't necessarily need a physical copy. I disagree that the music industry is far behind. Chance the Rapper for example won a Grammy this year for an album that was only available online.
Wes Tolson Aren't those paid downloads from iTunes or other platforms audio mp3's and not combination audio/video like one can download for free from you tube? This is an audio/video world now and the paid services and record companies are not reacting to it. I would like to see an audio only recoding go viral like some of these video/audio clips on you tube--not happening
my band just talked about only releasing our next album online and USB jump drives for this exact reason....well...and Vinyl too cuz thats one purity that will not die....
+Phil Craven I agree about the analog sound of vinyl being superior to digital. Maybe you could release a vinyl record with an attached digital audio/ video flash drive. Best of both worlds.
Music goes viral all of the time. There are plenty of sites on the internet where the main focus is actually the music itself. It's also stealing if you download videos from UA-cam. You aren't supposed to be able to "own" copies of UA-cam videos for free. As for the never ending vinyl vs. digital debate. Vinyl has a distinct sonic quality yes, but digital audio has come a very very long way since the invention of vinyl. I could go into the technical reasons why digital can be just as high quality and even higher quality than an analogue recordings, but people's connection to having a physical disk and the process of using a record player plus sentimental value and a retro feel is the reason they are gaining popularity again. Not because they sound "better." All that being said, if you like LPs better than digital audio, nothing is wrong with that, but to say it's because they are better is fairly ignorant, but again, that's okay.
