My dad's friend owns a jazz bar, and the music is amazing. This sounds like exactly something the band would play- one time I even got to perform “I’m beginning to see the light”, “fly me to the moon” and many others with a sax player, a trumpet player, a pianist, a drummer, and a bassist. It was probably one of the best experiences in my life. Jazz has a way of making you feel like you're on top of the world. Love the compilation and hope the 1% reading this has a great day (edit: thanks for so many likes!)

You aren't useless, or bad. Life is full of judgement. Sometimes we expect so much of ourselves to a point where the ego feels it needs to be the best, and when you realize you aren't to your potential yet you may find yourself with an even more influenced ego, but this time aimed at yourself with mostly negative thoughts. Try to focus on where you are now, and how you can improve it. Don't let your expectations be your future, let it be a piece of influential motivation. As a landscape is to an artist with a paintbrush.
I will turn 130 years old in a week. Still listening to this jazz in my coffin where my son promised to keep playing these tracks on a gramophone for as long as the world lives. I don't know what's happening to the world but looks like you guys are just managing well. Thank you my son, grandson and great grandson. Please keep the tradition alive. And never stop listening to jazz.
Imagine playing this on a rainy night in your NYC luxury loft just coming back from work and sipping your cocktail watching the view from the window... Life at its best Edit: wow I didn’t know so many people like that same as I do
Owning a luxury loft is already hard enough. Id rather watch the sun burn a few people from my window, while sipping coffe after having lunch, just arrived from work at mid day.
A rainy night, your children are already sleeping and your wife is watching her favourite show. You sit on the sofa and loosen your tie while you are pouring a glass of your favourite whiskey. You light up one of the fine Cuban cigars your best friend gave you and you pause to listen the jazz music that plays on the radio as you watch the drops of rain crash on the glass of your window. Even if for a few minutes, you are the king of the world.
I was in Boston last night. In a cozy, quiet, and dimly lit hotel bar/lounge with a seat right next to a large window. It was raining. Similar music was playing. My wife and i watched the lights and people walk by with their umbrellas. We enjoyed some small plates and put away 4 cocktails each. Vodka martinis and whiskey sours. We didnt want the night to end!

Imagine being at New York, walking through the cold snowy night, watching everyone having a good time and seeing all the lights from the buildings. You get a feeling that this is a wonderland in your body, you keep walking passing the book shops and other stores and finally arrive at a cafe. You sit down take your coat off and enjoy the coffee with this jazz music in the background, and you keep wondering in the amazing New York night
*Rain patter* *Car drives by* *Walks into jazz lounge* *Sets down umbrella at the door* *Takes off hat and coat* *Takes seat at the bar* *Casually orders **________* *Jazz band plays in the corner* *Tobacco smoke fills the room* *Room is dimly lit* *Lovely lady in stunning dress sits down across the bar* *Bartender wipes shot glass* *Lovely lady holds a cigarette holder in her hand* *Bartender walks off to service other patrons* *Camera pans out through window* *To be continued...*

I remember going to a live music event with my grandfather when I was younger. It was a small venue, with maybe 50 people in the audience. But the energy in the room was incredible. The band was playing an old jazz number, and I'll never forget the way the sax player hit those high notes. I was mesmerized. After the set, my grandfather introduced me to the band's piano player. To my surprise, he let me sit down at the piano and play a few notes. I was terrible, but he smiled and encouraged me to keep practicing. From that moment on, I fell in love with jazz music. Over the years, my grandfather and I attended countless jazz shows together, and I even started playing piano in a local big band. Jazz has brought so much joy and connection to my life, and I will always cherish those memories with my grandfather.
OMG this reminds me of when I was younger and played the clarinet. My great grandma took me to a show with a jazz band that had a clarinet. I look back fondly, thinking about how much effort she put into connecting with me and my interests. *sigh* I miss her so much ♥
I live in Morocco and I listen to this everyday when I’m heading home. Everything fades away every time I put my earphones on and walk towards the bus station. The 1 hour trip becomes a wonderful journey that everything around “blossoms” though the harsh reality of my society. It took me some minutes to write this comment because I had to stop several times and just listen to the beauty of Jazz. Am I really Moroccan?? I feel like this music amazingly connects me to another world. Please bring more Jazz concerts to Morocco ♥️☮️
over 80 and ex musician. there was a time when you could take your date out to a movie and dancing and a lounge like this.there was always music even in smaller towns.very little live music today.SAD SAD.
I can only think of thanking GOD for this music. This is relaxing music that makes you appreciate life, love and those who you care for. I remember my dad driving me to school, hearing this music in his new Ford Galaxy 500, the nicest and fanciest car I´ve never seen again. Thank you people for sharing these classics.
To the person reading this, Good Luck! Don't stress, everything will be fine. No matter what difficulty you are facing right now, you can overcome it! You are strong and brave 🥰❤

If your reading this, it's probably night time or maybe your studying for that upcoming test you have, or you might not be doing anything, you might just want to listen to some calming music. No matter the reason, I hope you know that everything is okay, take a deep breath, pause your studying, stop what your doing, look outside, go outside if possible, just for a minute. Take a minute to take a couple deep breaths outside, get some fresh air. Fill your lungs with the cold air outside, take a minute to look around, look at this beautiful earth we live on, it may be flawed but it's still beautiful. Just like you, I hope you dream, I hope you find yourself, do what you want to do, find your happy place, be around the people you love! Do anything that could help you. I might be a stranger talking to another stranger telling them what to do as if I know them, but I want you to know, you're loved by many. It might not feel like it but I promise things will look up for you. You'll find love, make friends with the greatest people, achieve your dreams. I hope you can live your own life, be the happiest you possible. ❤😍😍😍

Internet is the only way I have access to this amazing music. There are a couple of cafés here in Guatemala where you can go and have a good cup of coffee while you listen to this amazing music. I wish radio stations would play Jazz more often.
Today is my perfect day: I've lived every minute and I wouldn't want to change a thing about this day. It is such a rare feeling.... I feel really lucky. Now I am in bed and this is the right soundtrack. I wish everyone the same.
This makes me want to move to NYC, live in an apartment with an amazing view of city lights, light candles, drink a warm, rich red wine and listen to this amazing collection!
- 7:00am in your New York apartment. - A slight mist in the air from last night's rain. - Drinking a nice cappuccino. -watching over seeing the waking city. - watching the sun rise. - sitting down. - enjoying life. Sorry for this unnecessary comment. This is just what I imagine when I listen to this.
My Dad has been a Jazz musician in Germany playing over 50 years. Growing up as a kid on the farm listening to dad practice and play before going on tour were always fond memories. He's old now and with a smile on his face he says "I've played enough".
Imagine coming home from a long day of school/work and it’s Christmas and you sit down and relax by the fire with a blanket and hot coco and watch the snow fall
I love classic jazz music so much since when I was kid, this music are so lovely, winderful, elegant, fancy, and healing all of my sadness and traumatized mind in my life. ❤❤❤❤❤
Reading this comment section... Makes me realize that this is the gathering of awesome people here ! May you have a wonderful life people, full of experience and great moment!
Excellent! My Dad was a bandman from the 1920s and I have both his King gold-plated saxes...he played in the USS Valley Forge ship's band for Bob Hope during the Korean War...1950. I'm a professional, too...piano, cello, a conductor and was entertainer for Welk Resort in the 1990s. This is GOOD STUFF! Dad lived in NYC during WWII.
If you're reading this, I wish you all the luck! Just know that in the end everything will be fine, and if it is not fine, it means it's not the end! Just hang on and keep on being the strong and brave person that you are, you can overcome anything! ❤🥰
Wow! Eyes closed and dancing around my living room like I’m somewhere else other than my apartment. How important music is during the pandemic. Wishing health and safety to all!
These songs, really made me realize what i wanted to pursue in life. I've never been a person who can socialize or communicate well with others, I never fit in with any groups, and pushed away every person I ever dated. Ive been like this my entire life, id just sit their at night and stare at the ceiling with my headphones on. I often thought about what I could do to help people who are going through a rough time in their life. I wanted to give them something like a ray of hope, something that they could be inspired by, like a mutual understanding of feelings i guess. But i never had any idea as to how i would accomplish this, it took me almost 22 years to figure this out. Its through music, its something we can share with eachother, its like another language that connects people not just with words. It also connects us through specific feelings. A song can bring out the most vulnerable parts of people and also the strongest. Its something that can portray that persons life and their exact feelings, i hope this helped someone, even if its just one person. Please keep your head up and push towards your goal. Dont be afraid to take life head on, life will be a struggle, but in the end all that struggle can pay off. Take care 🖤
My dad was a jazz drummer in the early sixties. He had a band called the JV Trio. I was exposed to this music as a child and listening to this transports me back to the days when my dad would play it on his turntable. Thanks for the memories.
Imagine... ...sitting in an old coffee shop at a window seat with a flufffy ground. It's cold outside because of the daily rain and snow but the stone furnace warms up the local. Your long 80 style's coat is hanging on a wooden hook and you're drinking a black tea with a stick of cinner. ...and a small band is playing jazz music all around the time. You're sitting and reading some Newspapers And then. You see your date coming from out there. As you both meet, you are going to have a bottle of warm keeping rosé wine and you fall in love and sleep. Have a good night, person scrolling through the comments❤
From Texas, its 11:45 PM sipping wine after a hard day. Wife pissed for something I don't even know. Feel like I am in New York. It's so magical. Love you all.

@Joey Robles tbh if you had a perfect life without stress, pressure or anything like that I'd damn sure love it. But whenever I don't feel well I need something heavy (eg Metal), so I get what you're saying. If it was late evening/ night in a big city and if I was under the influence of some Whiskey 24/7 I could easily bare this for the rest of my life
@Joey Robles nobody I suppose. I was just sharing my thoughts on this comment. Btw when I wrote it i felt exactly the way I described it lol. it was evening and I was drinking Whiskey
I did not realize jazz would be this soothing for mental illness o'clock. Like before I'd just blast emo music or something but honestly this works a lot better...I played it once as a joke but now I just end up laying on the sofa with instrumental smooth jazz once in a while and it's therapeutic
My home town, my music... I was born in 1960 and grew up at The West End seeing Frank Wess and Philly Jo Jones and "The Countsmen" Basie Alumni every weekend- the drinking age then was 18 but you got served at 15 or 16 with no ID... my parents knew Bill Evans and Dizzy... my mom made the definitive biography doc of Joe Albany...
Me and my ex used to listen to this mix all the time, we fell in love with this playlist. It brings back wonderful memories and happiness. I really hope the best for her since I’m pretty well myself.
When i was 15years old i encountered jazz for the first time in my life and I found jazz is something that makes me cozy and relax. Until now, my favorite music genre has been jazz!! I While i listening to this jazz, i feel like i'm in the hotel lounge in Newyork. I live in Korea and I really wanted to travel Newyork someday🤩
Honestly I'm 16 years old I just discovered jazz for my self and I could never think its such a good and soft music which just makes me feel different to anything else everything is easy no words can explain it.
Yeah I can understand what you're saying, I kinda feel the same, I'm 18 and listening to some jazz music is for me a privilege because 1% of people of our age are listening some jazz, so it's kinda like a little treasure. But when I'm listening to jazz, I kinda feel ridicously rich, just enjoying the life by the music in the late late night, just before going to bed

The wonderful years will never come back, we just have to remember them and live the present as if it were the past, but for this music will never be again.
its raining outside right now, this is just perfect. I love coziness, and I'd love if everyone here was happy, so have a nice day or night to anyone who sees this!
Holding my four week old daughter in my arms.... she was crying from her injections today. Put this on and she has fallen asleep on my chest. Beautiful music reaches all ages. ☺
It's a cold winter day in downtown New York, and you are just getting off of work around 5 and the sun is slowly starting to set behind the snow clouds. You see people flooding the busy intersections and crosswalks trying to make their way home before the snow starts to fall. As you walk by all of the shops closing for the day you notice something that catches your eye across the street. You quickly make your way over to the quaint little coffee shop that seems to be a hole in the wall. There's an older gentleman maybe around 60 behind the counter and he asks you you order and you give it to him and pay for your coffee. He calls your name and you grab your drink and sit by the window and enjoy the sound of the old man cleaning and the jazz band in the background. You sigh and sip your drink and begin to smile as you realize that you're doing just fine on this cold New York night.
Nothing like listening to jazz in NYC. I used to walk along West 52nd St. past all the music places and hear music as I passed each shop. It was so wonderful.
The absolute best productivity music. This just sets the perfect mood. Coffee in the morning, or a scotch in the evening, this is the perfect accompaniment.
Fairy lights, two scented candles, cold, dark fall weather outside and bundled up in blankets and listening to this while reading, can life get any better?

I am 23 years old, quarantined, but I have memories, my pen and paper, some nice red wine and you. what can go wrong?
Imagine playing this on a rainy night in your NYC luxury loft just coming back from work and sipping your cocktail watching the view from the window... Life at its best
Edit: wow I didn’t know so many people like that same as I do
That's how I'm trying to be. Someday...
You just described Harvey Specter
Before or after bill accidentally killed that hooker at the batchelor party?
Owning a luxury loft is already hard enough. Id rather watch the sun burn a few people from my window, while sipping coffe after having lunch, just arrived from work at mid day.
Minus the cocktail, yes. Sub a cup of mint tea and a bowl of popcorn and heck yeah, "life at its best" 💯

Poetry.
the vibe given man! :awesome:
Ahh yeah, I don't know why, but I would like that to be a Friday night...
May I have the same but without rain ?....
Then your wife tells you your cigar stinks and take it outside.
Thanks for sharing such a heart warming experience

Jazz has brought so much joy and connection to my life, and I will always cherish those memories with my grandfather.
now that’s awesome
Beautiful story :)

You were so fortunate to have a grandfather like that. He left you with wonderful memories and a great love of jazz. I'm so happy for you!
OMG this reminds me of when I was younger and played the clarinet. My great grandma took me to a show with a jazz band that had a clarinet. I look back fondly, thinking about how much effort she put into connecting with me and my interests. *sigh* I miss her so much ♥

Music brings people together
Lol yes
Take care 🖤
I hope that you'll reach your goals in life and thanks for warming my hearth.

same bro ! im 16 yo too :D
Eu tenho 13 anos, adoro jazz é uma coisa que significa, paz, calma, ritmo, emoção, sentimentos! Isto sim é musica!!!

The sunset is really beautiful.
The wonderful years will never come back, we just have to remember them and live the present as if it were the past, but for this music will never be again.
For some big reason, It make me feel like its Christmas in New York
true.
It’s coming.....
Christmas music and jazz are based on similar concepts and sometimes even identical concepts.

Holding my four week old daughter in my arms.... she was crying from her injections today. Put this on and she has fallen asleep on my chest. Beautiful music reaches all ages. ☺

I'm italian and i wanna know the meaning of "cozy". Thank you for the answer :))
@@pasqualelamboglia8246, Cozy as in its comforting, relaxing, pleasant. All those words in one is how I would describe it.
Amazing description 👌 😊 good for movie scenes
Don't drink coffee after 3pm!
Beautiful
Nothing like listening to jazz in NYC. I used to walk along West 52nd St. past all the music places and hear music as I passed each shop. It was so wonderful.
The absolute best productivity music. This just sets the perfect mood. Coffee in the morning, or a scotch in the evening, this is the perfect accompaniment.
Good for reading and writing...
Fairy lights, two scented candles, cold, dark fall weather outside and bundled up in blankets and listening to this while reading, can life get any better?
Ada Olivia Aarlot Yeah it can, with Harry Potter 😍 lol
My home town, my music... I was born in 1960 and grew up at The West End seeing Frank Wess and Philly Jo Jones and "The Countsmen" Basie Alumni every weekend- the drinking age then was 18 but you got served at 15 or 16 with no ID... my parents knew Bill Evans and Dizzy... my mom made the definitive biography doc of Joe Albany...
ditto
For me it's enjoying a family reunion with this music perfectly accompanying the conversation
Totally agree!
So relaxing, I listen to it so much :)
