Some great decision making there. I was trying to work out where you were flying from. I was stationed at both Church Fenton, Leeds East Airport and Finningley, Doncaster Airport. When I was in the RAF.
Enjoyed the video Matt. i'm a good few hours behind you,on the same journey, so there are a few good tips in there. in the meantime back to circuits ( when the wind drops....:-) )
Similar, I'm just about to put a solo video up tomorrow, so I guess about 10 hours behind. I Know you say for entertainment only but - These videos are great revision - with a view from a different Instructor & Student. But also secondly, it's interesting to see what other planes are out there as well as strips. Watching whilst making breakfast!
Good videos to watch but if this really was a practice GST then Brian didn't do it properly. He should be sat there telling you what maneuver to perform in a real exam situation and nothing else. He shouldn't be having to explain how to do it or taking control of the aircraft unless absolutely necessary. He would then tell you at the end of the practice test if he feels you would have passed or failed. As he kept having to explain things to you, it's clear you wouldn't have passed and need to perfect a few things. One being to cut the throttle earlier to save having to sideslip all the time and you need to get out the habit of saying "flaps away". I look forward to more videos and it's good to see you're almost their 🙂
Hi Lee. Thanks for the comments. It was a practice of the things that would come up. It wasn’t a ‘mock’ GST, where Brian would as you say, give no advice.
Very helpful and good learning points for me. Very useful PFL TALK through and commentary. Keep the vids coming very watchable-- thanks Matt.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Many thanks Gordon!
It's interesting to see the differences between the GST for 3 Axis and Flexwing. Thanks Matt.

Hi Simon, I was flying from Sherburn at the time, next door to Church Fenton as you will know 👍

In the PFL remember to select field and approach before going through restart and mayday.
