$40 is so low. How do you afford a 10k mower, maintenance, gas, insurance, etc.? Everything has gone up. You are leaving $30 a yard on the table. Nothing stays the same. They will pay it

Doing 12-15 yards a day. Done by 3pm. Averaging 500-700 daily solo with low overhang. Also, these mowers aren’t 10k lol

Great video.. keep ‘em coming!! Only in my 2nd season but I picked up a tip from Mike Andes for those Bi-weekly customers.. I set the price 50% higher for bi weekly with a disclaimer that If the lawn gets to overgrown in that time or had to be pushed even further due to weather it will be an UPCHARGE!! Still have a few that chose that bi weekly option but it definitely steered most towards that weekly price that they know won’t change on them!!

Yes that’s a great way to push them towards weekly will def be trying that out!

I’m in Houston too… we charge 50% more if we do biweekly but we’ve also gotten away from the per cut price… We’ve created packages for people to choose from with monthly prices year round… weekly, combo weekly/biweekly, and weekly/biweekly/monthly…
We also charge them at the beginning of the month with the card on file

Yeah, I am in my 2nd season, and I am solo. I charge $50 / $70 and if it is overgrown it starts at $100 for initial mow and this is for small to medium yards.

You’re making a great point man! I have to tell several customers that I am going to have to put them down weekly in the spring. I’m near Austin. So around June/July growth starts to slow so it’s ok and realistic to go biweekly and then Aug/September 1 time per month. But that’s only on certain lawns. Not all of them.

    • @floreslawnservice7509
      @floreslawnservice7509  Рік тому +1

Most definitely! Some ppl know they need it weekly but won’t do it to save $$.. Totally understandable but it hurts us sometimes. I love Austin btw!!

You don’t make enough money off each customer when it’s just biweekly mowing. That’s like 20 services a year. Waste of time.

I feel like this is a simple concept, lawns have to qualify for bi weekly and it should benefit you by going with bi weekly. If the lawn isn’t irrigated or fertilized and when I show up for the 2nd cut it really doesn’t need to be cut yet and keep in mind this is prime growing season I will than offer bi weekly 50% more than the weekly price. So now I’m making let’s say $60 for a small property and only spending slightly more time than if I came weekly, now I can take on more customers and get more add ons like cleanups mulch, etc.

This is what I run into when bidding yards or lawn maintenance,,, I roll up on a job walk the property with the owner or the client and they dictate to me how much they are willing to pay me for their lawn maintenance

Customer should never dictate pricing. And you should never quote a project based on weather you think that customer can or can’t afford it.

Sharp blades on your mowers make your lawns look better. Dull blades make the lawn look hazy with frayed edge grass and it may take longer to mow.

If you charge 50% more bi weekly, you will actually make more money per customer per year. And that even before you add in fuel, labor ect

I offer Bi weekly but its at a marked up rate, if a 40 dollar weekly wants bi weekly I charge 55 to 60 depending on if its a open clear and open yard, or if its a mess with tons of decorations and nonsense. They also have to sign a waiver that states if I double cut and its still heavy with clippings im not responsible for the mess or dmg to the lawn. One lady moved to weekly after she saw just how messy the yard could get.

you are way underpriced. Especially in Houston. My minimum is $50 per cut. I have some customers that pay $60 and $70 weekly small medium yards. Most businesses fail because they do not charge enough.

Good for you. Most of my homes are very small averaging 25-35 minutes each. I average 80-90 hourly. I have very low overhang and keep busy 5 days a week so I am very happy charging this rate 👍🏼

      I mow 85 lawns a week in 5 days.
That's an average of 17 lawns a day.
The key to that is route density.
Certain areas I have 10--15 lawns within 10 minutes of each other.
Driving is what kills your time.
I still have 5 lawns I mow for $40 weekly, but I'm off them in 20 minutes.
My minimum is $50, weekly only, it gets dry I adjust to every 2 weeks.
I still have every 2 week lawns, I offer them 10% off their every 2 week price if they go weekly.
