- I'd thought I'd go ahead and end the Tascam trilogy with this vid and give my final thoughts. TLDR, it's a reliable workhorse for home studio work with a couple of quirks.
As of now, I'm retiring this interface to the gear closet because I never play or record drums anymore (thanks Covid!) and have moved on to more straight electronic music on iPad OS.
The Interfaces in this vid are still available and you can buy them from Amazon if you want. I've got affiliate links below if you're so inclined:

Did you found any problem with this 16x08 when you record drum in all inputs...? I mean like some eror while recording or anything else..? Cause i saw another video that review about some bug on drum recording while using all the inputs. Just want to know if that problem is not hapend for all the 16x08 units or it maybe it does hapend to all units. Thankyou very much for your video, anyway i have behringer 404HD for this 4 years and want to upgrade to tascam 16x08 but still looking for the best review first befor buying it. 👌🥂
It took me a while to figure out when I'd subscribed to your channel (it was almost ten years ago). Still glad I did, this was a neat video. I have a UMC404 as well and I love it to death.
Ten years, damn. We're UA-cam OG's.

Do you think that these additional channels without preamps can be used to record drums, or only with the use of an external preamp?
Only the first 8 channel can utilize the built in preamp. The additional 8 cannot.
Been looking for this interface here in the Philippines to use for church but i cant find one!
We have brand new stocks of these audio interfaces for sale in the Philippines 😊
Nice Vid, thanks. But why the vikernes picture?
I had to obscure the video at one point with a picture because I recorded myself entering my passcode on my iPad and used a random pic of Varg.
Mine is making noises and crackling. Its new, using it with my M2 pro MacBook , do you know what could cause this?
Verifica el Buffer, latencia, que Windows usas, los cables, Asio driver ¿Ya resolviste el problema ?.
Quiero y necesito una pero leo muchos malos comentarios.

Hi! Please enlighten me about something: the audio from the line outputs is the one from the computer or from the mic imputs? Thanks
I had 2 Behringer mixers and have had nothing but problems with them. They worked fine for a while but then would develop weird issues like popping/ clicking/ static noises randomly. I was going back and forth with the Tascam US 16x08 and UMC1820 for a while and chose Tascam even though Behringer has ADAT, I just don't trust Behringer anymore.
Como te va con la Tascam?.
I've got the Tascam and the Behringer UMC1820 with additional ADA8200. They all work for me in Linux. I had one issue with pops and clicks with the Behringer but that was due to not using the "Pro Audio" Option for the UMC1820 in my Pulse Audio config. After changing to that it worked flawlessly.
Don't quit playing!
I go in phases. I'll get behind the kit soon enough. This past year I've mostly just been focusing on learning piano and finishing an all electronic album.
nice one thanx for sharing
The thing is
Behringer doesnt support mac m1 or younger... so i had to switch the other way...
Greets from germany
The M1 Mac's do not support usb class compliant hardware? I find that hard to believe. If so that's just awful.
Seems Linux support has been sorted for a while, its in the mainline kernel now. Someone even built a GUI frontend for the onboard DSP: ua-cam.com/video/n6F9Gt7guWw/v-deo.html
Yup, I've got the tascam-gtk package installed on my system. It is a little buggy for me as I have to use the "reset all" option to get Pipewire to fully sync up to the Tascam. But all in all it works. Regardless it's not 100% necessary if using a DAW thanks to the kernel level support. That being said I still prefer my Behringer interfaces as there is really no tinkering or running of GUI front ends to get them to function. They are truly plug and play devices. Also the Mix knob alone on the Behringers is enough for me to always prefer it to the Tascam.
would you consider donating your Tascam?
haha no way. It's still an excellent piece of gear that has a lot of use left. I've also kind of repurposed it as a permanent interface for an electronic music desk that I set up since I made this video. I went ahead and pre-configured it on a mac so that all of the inputs now work with iPad and AUM. My main gripes with it are really just the reliance on Mac/PC software for configuration, no linux support, and the lack of a mix knob. Other than that it's a very versatile and powerful piece of gear that I intend on keeping.
TASCAM is best and brighter. Why do you spread hattread against TASCAM.
What hate? I like Tascam gear and have used them for decades. My only real gripe is no Linux support.
Behringer is king of Crap...Nice move, lol
works on my machine
@@6400ab Sure it works. Take care :)
