Huge reason for thermal problems in current tensor cpus is lack of vapor chamber. While I'm waiting for the Pixel 10 (owning 8 pro) I hope they finally add it to the 9. Without it the G5 won't be such huge upgrade and will still have thermal issues.

I am using the Pixel 6 Pro, my Display broke once. The repair shop didn't made the fingerprint sensor work again with the new screen. My Backcover broke and I repaired it by myself, but maybe I broke the NFC and Wireless charging while doing so. Also my Battery from the 6 Pro is down to around 85%.

I have a Pixel 7 Pro and will likely upgrade to the 9...not so much because of the chipset but because usually it financially makes more sense to upgrade every two years vs three years. You get more money from trade in or selling a two year old phone vs a three year old phone.
My 7 Pro is still running fairly well and the battery still holds up but the depreciation does play a factor, unless I plan to keep the phone like five years which I've never owned a phone more than three years. Which is when I realized it makes more sense to trade in after two years.

Currently on the Pixel 6 Pro and it`s a tough choice. I will make the choice based on pre-order deal + trade in value for my current phone. If I get down to 600-700€ then I´ll probably upgrade and maybe trade in for the Pixel 10 next year if it´s really such a huge difference switching the manufacturing from Samsung to TSMC.

Power is the product of efficiency when the source of energy is the limiting factor. The more efficient the chip, the more power it can produce per unit of battery. Luckily to scroll Instagram doesn't really change in power requirements year on year and therefore doing it using less power = efficiency.
That's why I'll never understand people like yourself who fail to see that SOC power increases year on year are infact improvments in efficiency and should always be achieved. Otherwise decrease the price for stagnant performance. Google has only those two options.

Samsung has been manufacturing chips for years now, and Google just tinkered the chips a little bit, but that doesn't necessarily mean they can completely design a new chip from scratch and for it to be great?
