iam still waiting for particles simulation in cinema4d similar to tyflow in 3ds max which is the biggest pluging in 3ds max. and hope there is particles advection with pyro in this release
I see Maxon still has Zero interest in attracting character animators to their eco system. I admit that the program has addressed alot of major shortcomings in the area of native VFX since I left years ago for Blender. However notice you don’t see any dialogue heavy shorts or feature length character ,driven animated films from the C4D community. No human IK control rig for general purpose retargeting for game dev animation. or useful native facial animation & lipsync options. Blender, with about $250 worth of addons (with free lifetime updates), gives me everything I need on the Character animation & VFX side and for serious industry VFX work studios are using Houdini anyway.
Autorig pro ($40) is an absolute must have for both game character rigging /animation ,with mocap retargeting, and correct export to the major game engines. I also recommend the face-it addon for advanced face rigging and auto shape key generation with Iphone ARKIT facial capture support if you plan to doing your own animated films/shorts . both add-ons are on the Blender market.@@HelloFabs
I stopped using anything from GSG after they started that horrendous subscription model. You could no longer buy their Signal plugin outright, only via subscription. Then the fact that if you stopped paying you no longer had access to their materials. I was so disgusted by the lack of options I dont even watch their tutorials anymore. Maybe they've gotten better since then but idk.
This looks like a fantastic update!! 🥳 But guys, pleeeeease, when are we going to get a truly versatile particle and fluids system? Without these two key features, I have to keep turning to X-Particles :(
I hope the licensing for render nodes for Redshift for Cinema 4D is a lot better than needing to buy a seperate license per a node, is not cost effective compared to other 3rd party renderers.

Hm, the most exciting features here are not even in C4D, the lens engine looks great. They are literally trying to become Houdini I think xD I like the better integration with RS but will not go back because of that :)
I'm concerned whether Redshift and especially its integration with Cinema are production ready enough to be the default engine. We'll see. Happy about the introduction of rigid bodies in the new physics system but softbody is still very clunky to use, would love a list of smart presets (capsules? Wink wink) that take care of some of the hard to control variables such as substeps and mesh density. Overall stoked for the performance improvements and the new pyro stuff.
Would be awesome if we could at least define or have a defined range next to the value input of the soft body controls so you know to (generally) not exceed a certain value that could crash Cinema. The value ranges are so different from each other. While you're exploring, you might try a value 50-100 on one parameter and be fine, but test another parameter out at 5 and you're toast.
i really dont understand the node editor, you almost have no tutorials on how to use it, it would be great if maxon could pump out tutorials using the nodes in c4d

How good is Cinema4D for character animation? I'm looking for something that feels more creative and human than f.e. Blender does. I'm old in the game but new in character animation.
bodypaint 3d Was body paint 3d discarded as well? I've been waiting for you to update the Substance Painter properly while updating it. I've been waiting for more updates independently since R11. Bug fixes only create a better environment, but no updates have been made to the features. It's no different from 18 years of leaving the same comment every year and it still doesn't work out
Occasionally, Cinema 4D 2024.0.1 will become unresponsive when clicking on the next frame, and images rendered in the image viewer cannot be zoomed in or out using the mouse wheel.
It's almost 2024 and C4D snapping tools still sucks! Please, do something like 3dsMax or Sketchup! I'm tired of having to press ''L'' every time to keep changing the axis to snap! I just want to join one vertex to another, one face to the other, without having to change the axis all the time.

No improvements on character animation again. Impossible to work with more than 2 fully animated characters without the software becoming super slow. Great release, particle integration with Pyro makes Pyro a hell of a lot more powerful, and Rigid Body integration is SWEET.

You can fairly easily lay out the UVs for them & the Redshift materials support them too. Redshift now being the default render engine.

RS is slower than Octane. Get Octane onboard too.
Octane is unstable. Alot of render farms don't even support it because of that.
Viewport, yes. Render times, no way.
