Thank a for this video it was super helpful. I mixed a really light green in in a nearly empty ivory body using a new ivory and a light green so now I have my mixed super light green and the original two colours. I would have use tossed the old ivory body so it nice to give it a second life

Yes they are. I have refilled my pc 1m from the big 15k when I’ve gotten low on new pens. It’s the same process for mixing as well. Just smaller components on the 1m. Hope this helps!
Amazing!! Love these! If I can offer a little advice, you definitely don’t need to beat the nib of pen against something to prime it. You can gently push it down a few times and it will prime and be much easier on your nib. Thanks for your hard work. It’s appreciated

I have tried twisting in both directions. Did they change the design of their new pens or something? Or is it just stuck on really tight? I even got pliers and now the plastic is slightly damaged 🙃 but still functional I have water brushes that also twist the opposite direction. I'm suspicious It's so that it's not as easy to take off concerning most people in the world are right-handed.
Hey mate just wondering if you have tried refilling them with tube acrylic paint and some water or a medium to mix the paint with I've got heaps of acrylic tube paints. Also do you know roughly what the posca paint consistency is I'd love to do custom colours and try to get as close as i can to poscas paint consistency. Cheers
Gday mate! I haven’t tried using acrylic tube paint but have always thought about it. The posca paint is about as thick as soy milk. Give it a try and let me know. It would be super fun to have the range of colors from tube paint

Posca does make a pretty dark red. I think they make a total of 3 red variants. It’s hard to make a Posca darker without making it to dark. Try 1 small drop of black at a time. If you go to dark you won’t be able to get it brighter without adding a ton of paint. Good luck!

Molotow has empty pens to mix up colors. Doesn’t posca have them? And is it an idea to use the empty molotow with posca ink or are their tips not good enough?
It should be fine to use the molotow empty pens with the posca paint. The only reason I don’t use those is I have so many empty posca I don’t want to waste their cases. Thanks! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Hey! I have a question.. If the posca pens have different default colors, do we need to clean the inside and the outside to mix different colors aside for that default color?
I don’t clean the inside. If I’m making a lighter blue (blue+white) I’ll mix it all up in a white pen. I usually don’t mix more than 2 colors. So just use the pen that will have more of the color in it. Does that make sense? I haven’t had my coffee yet 😆

You can get them individually or in pack online at Amazon. Otherwise your local art store should have them. I sell an art box on my website with my favorite colors as well as some other supplies to make fun Welzie art. There are a couple different acrylic paint pens on the market but I think posca are the best. Sharpie makes a good pen too. In my opinion Montana paint pens are the least opaque. Hope this helps. It depends on the size of artwork you are working on, but the PC-5m is what I would get if I could only have one size. The fine tips are great but I only use black with them. 90% of my posca paint pens are the Pc - 5m

I don't usually comment on anything much, but I just had to say thanks and give you some support. Firstly, great to see someone else trying to mix POSCA pens. So good when you don't have the colour you want. You had some really good ideas - I particularly like the mug idea (ask me how I know!!!) Secondly, a question. I've tried to do the same with the brush pens, cos I really like the brushes but they only come in 4 or 5 colours. Have you ever used the POSCA brushes? Looks like the only way to access the ink reservoir on the brush pens would be though the back of the pen. I’ll have to get a couple and try them out. Don’t be afraid to open a few pens up and experiment on a couple.
@hla97 that’s going to be nearly impossible. Every paint company has a different formula. You can make your own pallet using your paints. That’s a better approach anyway
Hello! I just came accross your youtube videos. You are great! Quick question I use posca pens all the time and whenever I need more where I buy them at it takes like a whole month to get to me. Do you have a special place you buy them from? maybe that delivers quickly?
Aloha Michael! I know how that feels when your POSCA Paint Pens are hard to get. Often times it’s harder to get certain colors or sizes than other ones. It’s a lot harder to get individual pens than it is to get a set. What colors are you having trouble getting? What colors do you need? Don’t get frustrated with having a hard time getting POSCA pens. It happens to all us paint pen people.

We’re you rotating it off in the proper direction? Left is tight. Right is loose. It’s possible you rotated it the wrong way and stripped the threads but it still should be able to come off. If you were unscrewing it the correct way it might not be coming off because you need to pull the part off a bit while you unscrew. Hope this helps. Aloha🤙🏼

Can you put paint in these pens when they are empty? ie could I use paint I have in tubes and put it in the pen or do I have to just buy a new one ? How much paint is the pens?
You can add posca paint from another pen to your pen. I have a video on mixing paint pens. I haven’t tried mixing another brand paint into the pen. A pc 5m shoul cover about 2 square feet of solid color. Hope this helps 🤙🏼

Posca does have purple. 2 options. A darker one and a lighter one. If you need a real light purple you can drop some purple into your white pen. You can use wet into wet mixing technique to get purple if you’re not mixing up your own. I have videos on that. I think it’s “coloring in your artwork
Hi just another question: I bought some extra colors just to mix. Only one of them opened. So I choose the right direction (although I tried both ways just for sure). But whatever I and the people that helped me did: it no way opened. What to do? Even with the use of our teeth…no way….
This happens to me sometimes too. The way I open stuck posca pen lids is to use vise grips or plyers to grip the top. It’s the only way to get enough grip on the lid. Good luck!

Posca markers do have a darker red. I don’t see them around very often but they do make them. If that red doesn’t work try to mix up your own to get exactly what you’re looking for. Hope this helps. Aloha

You can use a sneaker box with top and punch ole in and thenvstick pens in so then you can do a few at a time without them falling over plus ur upcycling your sneaker or shoe cardboard box ....if you have double size tape you can also add that to top of box and you can stick tops on the tape to not roll around or get paint on work surface kess ckean up not to get paint every where...mikelle art mom....🎨✍👩🎨
Sometimes the tips just dry out and the paint in the pen is still ok. You can check by taking off the cap, holding your thumb over the opening and flipping the pen upside down. If we’re paint is on your finger you will know it’s just a dried tip. Pull the tip out and rinse and soak in water till the dried ink is out. Then try again. This is a last ditch effort but it might work. If the tip is toast you can always get another unused pen and put it on the dried tip one. Good luck!
I haven’t made one or seen one. My recommendation for posca pens on glass are Make sure glass is clean The pens will scratch off easy so you want to consider a spray acrylic coating Don’t do too much layering work with the pens. The second layer will likely pull off the first. Best try sample on small area first before going into final project. Good luck Aloha
Well...this is pretty much obvious for anyone above 10..well, maybe 12...this video would have made more sense if it was about making the fluid from actual acrylic paint from tubes or bottles...here you just switch fluid from pen to pen....but i'm pretty sure most people would know how to actually make more paint from stuff they already have from more traditional painting i.e tubes..or other acrylic paint containers..to make it more economical..these pens are as you state, quite expensive.

You can refill it… but will it work the same? Getting the consistency of acrylic paint to work in the pen tip may be more trouble than it’s worth.

It’s probably really tight. I use vice grips all the time to get them off. And turning to the right is how to get them loose.

Yes you can replace them! It just takes a little ink through it to make it work as good as new.
Its so hard to get off the ink cap, my hands are always getting sweaty, and when they arent, its still very hard to take it off
I agree! That’s why I use vice grips. Very few pens I can get off with bare hands. Also remember right is loose and left is tight on posca pens

I think you should try that!! Make sure it’s mixed extremely well. Any clumps will clog the tip. Let me know how it goes!

I haven’t made one or seen one. My recommendation for posca pens on glass are
Make sure glass is clean
The pens will scratch off easy so you want to consider a spray acrylic coating
Don’t do too much layering work with the pens. The second layer will likely pull off the first.
Best try sample on small area first before going into final project.

Well...this is pretty much obvious for anyone above 10..well, maybe 12...this video would have made more sense if it was about making the fluid from actual acrylic paint from tubes or bottles...here you just switch fluid from pen to pen....but i'm pretty sure most people would know how to actually make more paint from stuff they already have from more traditional painting i.e tubes..or other acrylic paint containers..to make it more economical..these pens are as you state, quite expensive.
