Thank you so much for this. I was getting a little confused on which one to get for my son. He just recently taken up an interest in posca pens, and I had no idea where to start. Thanks to your video, i will get him the 5m.
Thank you!!! This was driving me insane. I wanted to order some because I can't go to my local art store (a family member is in the hospital) but I had no idea what sizes to get. This helped a lot!
This is the video i was looking for because they don’t give examples of the pens on Amazon this video is really great and helpful you immediately get a subscription and like from me
Thsnk I just got some for my son's birthday. The size is a medium I was interested in a finer tip. So thank you for showing the difference in the tips.
Great reference for my future purchase! There seem to be So Many! 😂 thank you! I don’t know if you can or not, but a close up of the paper (or close overhead view) would be very helpful in getting a good look at how they lay the lines etc. thanks so much for this video. Very helpful
Wow very interesting to know maybe different colours need different sizes! For example a huge black for like a space background or a thinner one for outlining my Artwork 🖼! 😄😃😀😁😆🤷♂️😍👍
Super useful, thanks a lot!! I also doodle on top of watercolour and acrylic paintings. I've got a white 1M which works well but is sometimes a bit thick, so I was wondering if the 1MR would work on top of watercolour or acrylic paint...?
Great question! When using POSCA markers, it's important to choose the right paper to achieve the best results. For the best experience with POSCA markers, we recommend using a smooth, heavyweight paper or cardstock. This type of paper allows the markers to glide smoothly and minimizes any bleeding or feathering of the ink. You can also try using specific art papers designed for markers or illustration boards, which are often coated to prevent ink from soaking in too quickly. This helps to maintain vibrant colours and sharp lines. Experimenting with different papers is a good way to find what works best for your specific project and style, so don't be afraid to try a few options and see which one suits your needs. Happy creating!
Thank you. The problem is you never know when it runs out of paint, right? So in the middle of a work you may be stuck. Also if you forget the cap, it dries solid and unusable?
Thank you so much, I was searching for this soooo long and this is endlessly helpful! I was thinking, what is the MAIN difference between the small bullet tip and the pin tip? Meaning 0.7 ~ 1 mm and 0.7?
Hello just watched your video but still not sure which Posca pens to purchase! I want to draw a white Christmas village scene in my bay window. I also want to decorate some glass jars the same. thanks
can you varnish over posca pens without them running I have a sculture to try doing that will be outdoors and am using acrylic then posca pen then varnish:) just wondering it they would work or i ahve to try something else:)
Are the 1mrs good for stippling? Recently been absolutely obsessed with stippling and pointilism and ive wanted to work with colour for the longest time. Problem is, i find myself upset with the limited amount of choices you can get colour-wise. Is the mark of the 1mr relatively consistent, similar to fineliner pens? Ive used technical pens for the longest time which are insanely precise, but honestly at the scale i work at thats not entirely necessary. Bonus if anyone can provide me an example of stippling / pointilism with the 1mr. 😅
Yes , you can get tiny dots and if you press a lil bit hard you can get slightly bigger dot it’s still tiny tho but it’s got for variation , as for examples I don’t have any but you can use them like ink pens they are just colored paint instead of black ink
What size would you recommend to get autographs on posters? I've got a glossy photo paper poster and normal sharpies smear and can come off. So looking at a Posca and either the 5M or 3M . Would I be able to let it dry and roll up my poster? No flaking when dry or smearing?
They are great, nothing to mock about. Buuuut there is another brand that has much more colours and that sells refills. But Posca does what it promises and it does it good.
Hi there! All uni POSCA Paint Markers use water-based pigment ink, unlike the uni-ball Paint Markers (not featured in this video) which are oil based. Hope this helps (:
@@fri0 Pleasure to help you😊. Make sure it is smooth rather than rough. The paper may scrape a little because they are actually made to work on surfaces like wood cardboard metal or plastic but you can still use on paper.
@@rosey9509 Oh thanks! I always thought that those little things around the tip were parts of the tip peeling off, but it turns out they were paper hehehehe

Very helpful. Thanks! :)
You can vary the line weights, they don't have to be one unvarying size. Different pressures and speeds will help
Thank i really needed The 5 M POSCA paint pen ❤️
Hey I just wanted to ask, are UNI posca markers different than posca markers?
Very useful. Thank you!
What would be best for everything in general but I would still like to be able to write with it nothing too thin either
You should probably plump for a 3m - great for colour coverage and good for writing.
Glad I found this before I invested in some sets! 🙏
Thank you! Im into doodling and 7M is definitely what I needed.
Thank you, extremely helpful! :D
Very good guide. Helped me a lot, thx
Very helpful indeed.
Very useful review, thank you so much! :)
Very helpful . You inspired me to buy some poscas

They are quite flexible once dried, so no flaking should occur. Probably the 5M would work best, but the 3M is nice also
Good markers 🎉
Thank you!
thank you VERY USEFUL!!!!!
Thanks si much for this video!!so helpful❤️
this is a huge help for me tnx btw

What is the other brand which has more colours?
i ordered a set from amazon and the size is extra fine point. which one would that be?
Either 1M or 1MR
@@uniballuk Mine says "extra fine tip 1 mm
Good to knoww
17k marker can you get it in orange ?
Thanks!!
1.23 in what world is that a satisfying sound XDDD
Should I use 3M or 5M to customize things and for streetart
You can use both
ty for this
I just ordered a set of 16 1MRs/
Good choice!
may i ask what notebook/sketchbook you used?
Does the 1M POSCA pen use shake and press down on the paper?
yes
What would be best for customizing for example a shoe or water bottle. Would it be the 1.8 - 2.5?
Either will be fine.
Love your video but just wanted to say that only the regular posca markers are water based. The uni ones your are using are oil based.
Hi there! All uni POSCA Paint Markers use water-based pigment ink, unlike the uni-ball Paint Markers (not featured in this video) which are oil based. Hope this helps (:

Very helpful thank you. Do you need to seal these of drawing on shoes for example?
Thank youuu
What kind of paper is good for poscas?
Many artists recommend smooth watercolor paper
@@rosey9509 thank you very much!

@@fri0 lol yes
Where is the 2.5mm?
If I use the 1M, would I be able to write text with it?
Yes, the 1m is essentially a fineliner (like an ultrafine sharpie)
Thanks
are they used for paper only?
No they are acrylic paint, so you can use them on a variety of surfaces including cardboard, wood, glass etc.
The posca site says they are alcohol based
Are these pens oil based ?
No, they are water-based.
TAKE MY MONEY
Street artist like writing on the street or just like a street artist meaning they’re out on the street..lol
are the 7m and 8k same body? could you replace a 8k tip with a 7m tip?
Team 3m 👇
FYI the 1m has a PLASTIC tip! It is NOT like the other nibs
I am Costa
NIB!?!?!?
I wish I could tell the fakes from the real thing. I feel like some of the sets they sell.on Amazon are knock-off's.
grrrrrr💩
I hate when people hold the pen like that
Thanks
