Super pumped you loved Slowly We Rot! It’s one of my favorite books of all time. Can’t wait to check out Devils creek, I have heard nothing but good things and the good reads rating is insane.

That's great to hear! Slowly We Rot is one of those books I sincerely hope more people check out because it was exceptionally well done. It deserves more hype for sure! I hope you do get a chance to check out Devil's Creek. I had pretty high expectations going in, but it managed to exceed even those. I'll be doing a full length review on it when I get back from a backpacking trip I'm going on starting tomorrow morning. If you get a physical copy of Devil's Creek, it is put together really well. There's some artwork and design inside that's a nice touch to the book.

omg 20 books!!! 😱 queen of dark books. So many good books...guess I am ordering books today hahaha I have heard only amazing things about Devil's Creek so that book is definitely coming home

Thank you so much Kasha! Let me know which books you end up getting. Oh yes, Devil's Creek was fantastic. I had pretty high expectations going in, and somehow it exceeded those. I'm really hoping it blows up here on BookTube and elsewhere. If you buy the physical copy, there's some neat artwork included in the book that I think is a really nice touch. I'm getting ready to go on a trip, but when I get back I'm going to do a full length book review on it.

@@taylortalkstales8106 I put all the ones I didn't have already, on my wishlist hahaha but I think one of the first ones I need to read is Devil's Creek because I have seen many people that love horror talking about how good this is and I need to know. I will get the physical copy of it I think 💀🔪
      Enjoy the holidays!!!!

Thanks for another great video, I'll have to add a lot of new books to my TBR especially Devil's Creek. I just finished reading Twilight for the first time (I know, so random) And now I'm reading Kill River part 1 and I'm loving it. Thanks for the trigger warning on animal cruelty (I already forgot which book....The Listener?). I'm so sensitive to that topic that I need trigger warnings that there's going to be a trigger warning! Haha. I see you have another video up YAY! And I'm so sorry about your loss❤.

Thank you so much Kristine! Glad you're enjoying Kill River. I'm going to start Kill River 3 in August. You're welcome. Sometimes things slips by me, but when I can I do try to do content warnings/trigger warnings (especially for abuse, assault, and animal cruelty). Thank you! I'm just happy I was able to see her before she passed and it was a peaceful as it could be.

Thank you so much! We were able to be there for each other. It was tough because of COVID times (can't have a funeral right now and some other challenges), but I'm very thankful she was able to pass at home with family, knowing that she was loved. You're welcome and I'm so glad you enjoyed it :D

So sorry for your loss :-( I hope reading will give you some time to just relax. People always say that Horror disturbs everyone but for my part, dark movies and books helped me out of so many holes.

Thank you so much Phillip! I appreciate it. I feel the same way! Horror and dark fiction gives me comfort in a way that more upbeat work doesn't and I'm the same way with music. If I'm feeling down I like listening to sad stuff because I feel more understood than pop music.

Very sorry to hear about your Grandma,it's been a bad season for a lot of us and our older relatives. I'm reading Mexican Gothic by Silvia Morena-Garcia. This seems right up your alley. I instantly thought of you when I started reading it.

Thank you so much! I know it's been a tough few months. One of my neighbors just lost her stepbrother and a woman I pet sit for lost two relatives in one week to COVID. My grandmother passed because of something else but it's challenging during this pandemic no matter what. Ooooo thank you for the great recommendation! I caught a glimpse of the cover a little bit ago and it looked interesting. Just looked it up and I'm definitely going to get a copy when I get back from the trip. It sounds great! Hope you're doing well :)

Wow how can you read that much....this is crazy. I read around 6-7 books. I usually read 50 to 60 pages per day. Thanks for the short story summary btw,it helps.

You're welcome! I'm glad it helps. I normally don't read 28 books in a month, but since I'm an elementary paraeducator who has been furloughed since March due to COVID, I've had more free time to read. Normally I read between 12-15 a month when I'm working/having a normal life schedule. I'm a fairly fast reader which does help but I also limit social media time and don't watch TV anymore which gives me more reading time. 6-7 books a month is still very good! I heard that the average person reads 12 books a year or something like that so you're way ahead of the average person.

20 books?! I need a video on how to read more and faster! Please! I’ve read 18 so far I’m 2020 and that’s pretty good for me considering I read 12 in 2019 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

    • @taylortalkstales8106

Hi Freya! Lucky for you I have a video up already on reading more :) . Here's the link:

BTW when I am working full time I normally read 12-15 books a month (I don't include rereads which are usually one or two a month). I work in public education and have been furloughed since mid-March due to COVID so I have more time on my hands right now. We'll have to see what happens to my schedule in the fall.

How can you read so fast? Twenty books in a month is quite a lot! After reading so many books, I would like to know which three authors are your favorites. Thanks for your video!

    • @taylortalkstales8106
      @taylortalkstales8106  4 роки тому

Hey Juan! Thank you so much for watching! So I normally read between 12-15 books when I'm working full time. I work in public education as a paraeducator, and I've been furloughed since mid March due to COVID so I have more free time currently which is why I've been reading so much more than I normally do. I'm pretty lucky that over the years of reading a lot I've gotten to be a fairly fast reader. I actually made a video not to long ago about my reading habits/tips if you'd like to check it out.
      ua-cam.com/video/r7M8dj0x_lg/v-deo.html
It's super tricky to pick, but I would say my three favorite authors are:
      1). Stephen King
      2). Robert McCammon
3). A tie between Neal Shusterman and Neil Gaiman (though if I had to pick I would say Neal Shusterman since he's my favorite author of young adult fiction)
Hope you're having a great night!
