  • There were due to be two steam hauled excursions on the West Coast Mainline on Saturday 19th March 2022.
46233 Duchess of Sutherland was taking 'The Cheshireman' from Euston to Chester and Saphos Trains were running a York to Stratford-upon-Avon excursion, steam hauled from Crewe.
Unfortunately, Duchess of Sutherland was unable to run because of Covid cases among the support crew and class 47 No 47804 deputised, with 33025 as tailgunner.
Saphos provided the promised steam haulage on 'The William Shakespeare' with LMS Black Five 45231 'The Sherwood Forester' doing the honours, with class 47 D1944 (47501) on the rear.
Also featured is DRS class 88 with an intermodal service from Mossend to Daventry

An interesting new spot there Rob and three nice captures..... No 6233 but you got a '33' Lol.
Well, they didn't get their covid off me. Just an observation Rob.... Your opening title shot would benefit from being a bit bolder OR it could be my eyes!! Cheers, Brian.

Thanks Brian. I've filmed there before, but had to go lower down the field where the view is not so good as the vegetation was higher. Its apparently been cut back recently making todays viewpoint viable. Agreed about the titles. I meant to put a dark background behind the text, and only realised I'd forgotten it when I watched it back on UA-cam 😡. Cheers, Rob
