The William Shakespeare with 45231 1 September 2021

A Saphos Trains excursion from Holyhead to Stratford upon Avon, diesel hauled by class 47s 47828 and 47805 as far as Crewe then by Black Five No.45231, with 47805 on the rear.
It is filmed here near Mill Meece, between Crewe and Stafford on the outward leg.

Thanks Brian. I used it a while ago for the northbound Midland Pullman, but it's the first time I've filmed anything southbound. As you say, it could have ended badly; a couple of northbound trains of boxes passed beforehand, and a semi fast headed south from Crewe on the up fast soon after 45231 left, but luckily it came though just ahead of it. That stretch south from Crewe towards Stafford has virtually no decent spots for video. Too many high fences and remote or overgrown areas... Cheers, Rob
