I'm an immigrant and a veteran of the United States Air Force. I immigrated from the United Kingdom in August 1973. I enlisted in November 1979 and served until November 1990. You guys stand for a lot of why I served. You exemplify what it is to be American. I makes me proud to have served to know that people like you exist. I thank you for your music. I thank you for your patriotism. But mostly, I thank you for being you.

How wonderful!!! Both my grandparents are 1st generation to America from Italy and worked very hard to make their dreams come true!! I really feel this I’m a personal way. My dads side came here in 1680 very poor, even into the 1900’s, but they loved God and Country and that’s where their happiness cam from. Come to find out, I'm much more Irish than my Irish friends, born in Ireland. I knew all of my Great Grandparents were Irish. But one was part German. My DNA is 98.7% Irish! 🤯 So, more people are shocked when they have their DNA actually tested. My friend's parents are from Sweden. She looks very Swiss. Nope. But she's very Norse. 💕🙏🇺🇸

I think, for many, it's not disdain for the "country", but sadness for those who diminish/don't accept others' looks/dreams/differences. It would be boring if everyone looked exactly the same. My husband immigrated here in 1979 from Iran when he was 18. He took all his money and went to school to learn English and worked as a hotel maid while he financed his passion, martial arts. He went on to become US National Taekwondo champion, opened several martial arts schools . He loves the country and all the freedom he has here. He bleeds red, white and blue.
