  • Leon Draisaitl sits third in scoring in the NHL playoffs with 30 points, however the Oilers' star only has two assists in five games in the Stanley Cup Final. Can Edmonton come back to win it all without Draisaitl contributing offensively? TSN Hockey's Martin Biron shares his thoughts.

      Hand injury imo. We've seen a taped finger. His face-off% and hard passes and shots just aren't there. You know he's trying.

      Been like that since about game 4-5 in the cannucks series . Left hand was tapped. He’s trying hard tho it is affecting his performance . First 8 playoff games he had 25 points was on a tear. Now last 15 playoff games only 5 points.

    The most concerning thing here, is how much EDM has pushed back "without" Draisaitl. He looked a little more mobile last game, I think the 3 day breaks between these games, is helping heal a touch. If Draisaitl gets going to any degree, FLA is in big, big trouble.

    The problem is Panthers are very fast skaters (not like McJesus ofcourse) and Draisaitl is very slow, it just doesn't work here, doesn't mather how much of a physical big guy he is. Also I think he's injured, that doesn't help either. With that beeing said, I believe Oilers will take SC in G7

      I can see that he's giving everything he has, that's all that I, as a fan, can ask of a player. He'll explode tonight. And if he doesn't, as long as he's grinding in both directions, he's contributing. He's one of the Oilers that got us here. That's not to be forgotten. Took Conner 3 games to make the adjustments. Took Leon 5..... comparing salaries, I'd say he's still ahead of the curve.

    Yes of course all us Oilers fans would love to see Leon in top form right now. If he's not 100% he's still better than most of the other players on the ice. But with Kane out, and Leon possibly hurt, this just compels every other Oilers player the critical opportunity to step up their individual game in a huge way. In the last two games that's been more than positive, and let's hope so again tonight.

    Kind of a duh question as The Oilers have played the panthers well enough to beat them at home and be where they are in the series. Injured or not, which I don't think he is, won't be an issue. Leon WILL be a major part before this series is over. Every human is unique, handles pressure, situations and circumstances differently and he is no different. He just needs to be patient and work the system they have been working and they will be ok. I believe they can win this series and despite not getting the offensive production from him SO FAR, doesn't mean he's not making an impact. Let's Go Leon and Let's Go OILERS..

    Yes Draisaitl hasn't been playing well. Lots of bad passes. Lots of hesitation. Possible he is hurt, but surely if that were the case the coach would use others on the power play line. Edmonton has players who can step up. If it is just that his head isn't in the right place, hopefully he can straighten that out.

  • @atiyaxa
    @atiyaxa 3 місяці тому

    Leon honestly looks injured out there, not skating or protecting the puck like his usual self. You could see it in the Holloway goal he assisted in Game 4, he peeled away from the play as soon as he made the pass, and in Game 5 he was hurting going over the boards for line changes. If he gets healthy and takes over games like he did in the 2022 run, it'll be Oilers in 7 for sure! It's also wonderful to see everyone else step up, because this is the first Playoffs I've seen where we aren't being carried by McDavid and Draisaitl alone. Also, despite it all, Leon has been a beast in the first three rounds with 30 points.
