I remember towards the end of his career going to a hershey bears game and seeing him play there, kinda surprised they sent him down. Think he's a capitals broadcast guy now though.

It’s easy to forget that even the worst player in the league is still good enough to land a spot. In the right moment, every one of them can pull a McDavid-like highlight reel goal out of nowhere! It’s why I love professional sports in general, but hockey is like this especially in my opinion

Does Goodrow and Motte count? They’ve both been incredible bottom 6 guys for over half a decade. I wouldn’t exactly say they’re “unexpected” players but tbf the criteria is very blurry
