This video is me playing a song I wrote and recorded on a guitar after learning to play guitar for 3 years. So this kind of represents guitar progress I made in the last 3 years of guitar playing. This is the first song I released since I started playing guitar in July 2017. I've been learning to play guitar completely alone, self-taught.
My name is Petar, born in 1991 in Serbia, and I've been playing guitar for 3 years now (video uploaded July 2020). I decided to write a song with my current abilities and skillset so that sometime in the future I can come back to this video and check how much I've progressed since this video. I plan to release at least 1 song like this per year :)
I'm not completely new to music, I've been playing keyboards / synths since I was 10 years old, and I play in progressive metal band Asymmetry from Serbia, but since I moved to Germany beginning 2016 and after releasing the latest album with Asymmetry end of 2016, I somehow lost hope and desire to play music, completely stopped and at one point I quit music altogether. Luckily, 6 months later, things changed when I saw an ad for guitar while browsing the web, and bought my first guitar in July 2017. Since then, I've been playing guitar every day and my drive for making music has never been higher. Music is just my hobby and I try to keep it like that, as I have a profession that I enjoy working in (Senior Software Engineer).
I completely wrote, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered this song alone.
All instruments recorded by me :)
Arrangements by me :)
If you are interested, here is the gear list I used when recording:
Guitar: Caparison TAT II (with Bareknuckle Juggernaut in the bridge, and Dimarzio Liquifire in the neck) and tunned to Drop C
Amp: Laney Ironheart 60 with Torpedo Captor

Strings: D'addario NYXL 11-64
Camera: Fuji X-T3 with kit lens

In this channel, I plan to post videos about learning how to play guitar, guitar progress, music-making, learning to play new instruments, gear reviews related to either guitar or audio production in general, and many other awesome things :)

Hvala Rako :D Trudim se da mi nije dosadno xD
Very nice video! I love the progress!
Thanks! Gave my best :)
Wow, i really like the mellow start of this song. Also, I didn't realize you could reach this level of proficiency with "just 3 years" of practicing. Nice!
Thanks! Glad you liked it. As for 3 years, I think that I was missing consistency in practice, but I was making that up with creating and writing aspect, making songs and recording. That’s why I’m not able to play something like blues and pentatonic scales properly, but know how to play diminished and more exotic scales. But yeah, its possible to push through and improve a lot in short time if you have an goal in mind :)
