    Nice look. I'll take the P99 all day. It's trigger in SA is better than my PPQ and the DA is good to have. I prefer the P30 over this HK for comparison here and I'd still pick the P99.

      Agreed the P30 wouldve been a better comparison

      Agree, I ordered the P99 over all the under 1k plastic guns. They all are similar though its not like one is 10x better than another.

    Nice comparison. Both fantastic guns. If I had to choose , I'd pick the P99

    Got the P2000 in .40 with a V2 LEM (7.5-ish lb pull) very awesome trigger and to my knowledge it's the only one that operates the way it does, as it is NOT Double-action only, like SIG's DAK or DAO triggers.
    Anyway, will be my 2nd HK, am really becoming a nut for 'em, wasn't looking to, normally I'm a SIG or Beretta (or Colt 1991 1911 man) but sometimes you get a gun that just hits all the marks and for me the P2000 really does it well, plus the easy conversion to .357 sig is a huge bonus.

    Walther's are great. I just can't find any parts for them. So I go with HK.

    Excellent video. I do have one question. At around 3:50 minute mark you talk about a modification you did on the Walther P99 where you replaced the striker spring with a GLock striker spring and it reduced the initial DA trigger pull. Please excuse my ignorance, but are you talking about the spring that goes in the slide around the firing pin or one of the springs on the frame. I would like to try this with mine as, although I love my P99C, it's DA trigger is fairly heavy. Thanks in advance.
    (I did try looking this up on waltherforums.com, UA-cam, etc. but could find any specific explanation)

    Nice comparison! I'm thinking about selling my Magnum Research MR9 Eagle 4.5" (standard slide is 4.0") and getting a 9mm HK P2000sk V3 for use as an AIWB carry option. The MR9 is a P99 clone that I really like, but honestly, I bought it more to "have" than for a "need" (I have a couple other "G" word pistols in it's same class that I'd prefer to keep). While I think it's a great choice as a home defense or truck gun, it's maybe a bit too large for carry use. Anyway, I've always liked the V3 (DA/SA) P2000/P2000sk design, and the sub compact frame is a nice small size for AIWB CCW use.

    • @flatheadfletch

      Walther has the best track record and the P99 IS the best hand gun ever made for all of its intended uses ! Period. VP 9 my other choice in SK version

      trickyhattrick I just sold my last week on GunBroker. it was the only one listed on there and I got a healthy amount for it within one day of listing it. the H&K is a better gun for me. It is smaller by a bit and better for me to conceal. I thought it was time to capitalize on the shortage of the P99 out there and I did just that. plus I had to pay off a refrigerator I just bought hahaha

    Love that P99 AS. The best mag release in all of christendom! Stellar trigger reset. Such a shame that it seems to be lost in the hype of all the johnny-come-lately striker fired pistols of the past decade, it's bro the PPQ included. I own two, just in case Walther gets it into their fool head to discontinue it or to placate the 'murican market and screw up that peerless magazine release it has with some new refresh model like they did the PPQ M2.

    The P99 is a great gun, tough too. Do you any problems with the slide on the P99 not going into battery when you do a brass check?
    Also does the slide/take down lever on the P2000 pop off if you push it while the slide is back? I've seen that happen on Nakorelli's video on the P2000. It seems to pop off real easy on his.

    • @DCopp
      @DCopp  8 років тому +1

      f11122 i haven't experienced either issue

      Snake Doc
      Thanks for the response.
      The P99 is known to have that slight slide issue when there's a round in the chamber. If you pull the slide back slightly to do a brass check the slide will stay out of battery by a slight amount. I saw this on Do it Right's channel with his P99, but it doesn't seem to affect function. It's pretty common from what I hear.
      The P2000 from what I've seen on YT, the slide/takedown lever comes off easy, like popping off when the slide is back. Nakorelli was complaining about that in his "Why no love" video.

    • @bbqaustin9606
      @bbqaustin9606 7 років тому +1

      No. It does not "pop-off". Thousands of rounds later the P2000 behaves flawlessly and accurately.

    • @drawfirst
      @drawfirst 5 років тому

      Yes the p99 does have a glitch if you do a brass check, but you do know the chambered round is visible to the naked eye from the side plus it has a loaded chamber indicator.

    PS: I do think the P2000 LEM v the striker-fired Walter would make for a more interesting comparison as they both have consistent trigger pulls and no thumb safety.

    I’ll take a S&W m&p 40 cal over any HK non striker fired pistol. I own one and XDm 40 cal 4.5” Walther PPQ and P99 as. My VP9 is sweet. My next will be the VP9sk and I’ll be done. Striker fired is the way to go. Simpler more reliable faster and less expensive !
