I was watching a video of yours on sewing square corners and noticed that you needle was moving forward with each stitch. I don't think my Sailrite walking foot does that - the needle only goes up and down - the bottom dog moves backwards and so does the presser foot - I'm going to take a look at that tomorrow AND be watching more of your videos - thank you
The machine I show in this video is a 'triple transport machine' designed for thick materials. Three mechanisms take part in to drag the material backwards or forwards: needle bar, feed dog and small presser foot. The Sailrite you mentioned is a 'double transport sewing machine' also designed for thick materials. Two mechanism take part dragging the material: feed dog and rear presser foot. Hello colleague, a question how can I make to lengthen the stitch of my consew 206rb-1 triple feed machine is very short, it only gives me 4.5 mm. I await your answer, thank you.
Your machine is supposed to give a 6 mm stitch length at least. One cause could be when the feed dog is too low and does not drag properly heavy materials. If the stitch length is larger with thin materials, then the solution would be to lift a little bit the feed dog. The second common issue happens when the 'small foot' does not 'touch' on time the 'feed dog'. Do a test with a piece of paper and no thread on the machine. The stitch length should be the same forwards and backwards. The needle should meet the same needle hole. The solution would be to adjust the alternating foot.
