Hey, in sri lanka we learn indian english not british english. For an example we call aubergine(british eng) as brinjal. 💀 why is sri lanka like this. I dont understand. I swear our education system sucks. I remember a 65+ years old politician once said kaputas hit the plane. I don't understand how he doesnt know the word 'crow' when he himself looks like a one. No no im just kidding. I was about say why learn freaking 13 years in school if majority of people cant use english properly(including myself).😑
Well! To begin with English is not something that teachers and others can drill and pour into your brain! It’s a skill you have to develop on your own! People can use any English the way they prefer it’s up to them! What matters is how you learn and educate your self for your own future !
If students were taught in a different way maybe through listening coversations,songs etc.. practicing speaking with friends, teaching proper grammar can really help students to get better. Just a textbook can't anything to improve students language skills. There is no argument about it. Isnt it obvious?
