This is the machine that got me interested in Harley Davidson. I really like the looks, the sound of the engine, and that orange is definitely the best color for it!
This is exactly the model I want - same color, engine, everything. Riding in the mountain twisties and avoiding the interstate, I much prefer the shorter gearing and higher rpm's. I've had long-legged gearing with high horsepower and it just isn't for me. The orange and black combo is exactly right. My short legs love the OEM mid-controls. If you snow-ski, you will understand the physics of why forward controls only make the handling worse in the turns. I've tried controls from rear to mid to forward. I will take mid-controls any day. I've tried cafe, buckhorn and fatboy handlebars. Again, the lower, wider bars like the 883R's give me much better handling. I don't really care if I look cool as much as how much I have in the turns at lower speeds. The 883R rules! My next motorcycle will be exactly like this one. (I don't like the term, "bike", because a bike has pedals.) Don't get me wrong, I like bikes. I like motorcycles. I REALLY like this motorcycle.

It's cool and does everything well but my wife's new Sportster 883 Iron FUN! Been thinking of selling my Dyna and purchasing an 883R!
I am REALLY disappointed that after some length of time a person can no longer post a Like! I liked most of the comments, except for the one that said "mines better, I don't like orange on a Sportster". I LOVE orange on a Sportster! Wrong, it's the Yanks who drive on the wrong side of the street, here in Britain we've been driving on the left hand side since medieval times, long before Europeans first set foot on the North American Continent. As the majority of the population are right handed, knights mounted their horses from the left and when jousting they held their lances with their right hand and approached each other from the left. When the USA was a British colony, they too drove on the left, it was only after the Americans got their independence that they decided to be un-British by driving on the right hand side of the road.
My 883 has been upgraded to 1200. My gearing is for 883 but the engine is 1200. Which means my 883 with 1200cc engine is quicker 0-60 miles than a stock 1200. Stock 1200 has a higher top speed though. Mine topped out at 185. Stock 1200 does 189

Should have got a 1200. Mr "my 883 is better". Too each his own I guess. But you get have upgraded to a bike with a bit more balls.
It depends on where you prefer to ride. The 1200 has taller gears at lower rpm's. It is better for the highway at 70+ mph.
