Oh no! Rip Safetran hybrid bell!
Nice video! RIP hybrid bell, and those new signals were quite a waste.
Not really, because they were reused at 113. The bungalow was a waste though.
Nice Video
It appears the reason why this crossing was closed is whatever there was of Oak Street on the other side of the crossing was ripped out so the crossing really wasn't needed anymore.
i like how they removed the signals just to put it on another road
Fact: The Lincoln Street signal got a US&S Model 95 sometime between July of 2016 and May of 2018
Yep, I mention that in my IL 113 video.
I think the grade was also been taken off as well and every time when you see a BNSF over on Oak Street, he won't honk his horn. And also the new relay bungalow has been removed from Oak Street as well. This year

However The RXR Warning Signs Are Still At The Closed Crossing
Wonder why bnsf closed the crossing for anyway?
The factory on the other side shut down
Why Did They Take The Signals To Route 113?
So how did the townspeople feel about their street being permanently closed? Seems a bit arbitrary, but perhaps there was little impact? Or did BNSF leave the bungalow in the belief the grade crossing would reopen?
Have They Removed The Bungalow Yet?
Nope, the bungalow is still there. I live in Coal City.
