- I want to take a few minutes to say a huge thank you to all of you who have supported this channel in the past and to thank and welcome all the new folks who recently subscribed and /or viewed. Your support and interest has completely overwhelmed me and I send you all a huge heart felt thank you.
Hi, I'm 73 and about 2 years ago I decided that if I couldn't get my partner to go camping or hiking with me that I'd do it by myself. Then unfortunately while hiking on vacation in the Appalachian Mountains I broke my ankle and tore my ATFL 3/4 of the way through. Needless to say, I had to hea, relearn to walk correctly and learn to be comfortable hiking again, which took about 6 months. So, late last spring I started hiking again, starting simple but ended doing up to 6 miles hikes rated as moderately challenging. Interestingly hiking became easier for me not harder, I think because I was determined to do it again when my mobility was taken away. I built my confidence last year and this year I'm going to Sawtooths in Idaho, Tetons in Wyoming and hiking and camping alone for about 2 weeks. I'm a little nervous about the grizzly bears but have bear spray and figure that I will mostly likely run into other people hiking there. I'm so glad I found your channel full of inspiration and good advice. I live in PNW (Oregon).
wow- that is a truly inspiring story. I hope you have an absolutely marvellous time
You are an inspiration.
I have been in a slump for the past couple years. I’ll be 64 this year, nine grandchildren, lots of busy time, but I’m missing something and I feel I’ve lost part of me. Well I’ve decided to rediscover me and do what I want to make me happy and your channel helped me know that I can and will hike and do some solo trips, I feel happy again. Maybe I can convince my hubby to join me. Thank you ❤
Good on you. Time is slipping away before my eyes so that is when I decided that I too would get out there and do the things that bring me joy. Each day is a gift.
My hubby is my camping buddy but never had an interest in backpacking or much hiking. Don't let that stop you if you really want to try it. I found women friends over time who like to go, and I have gone alone too. Learn skills and how to be safe and you will be glad you went. I hear you about something missing as we get older and I think it's often that we are less outdoors, especially in more wild places. Good luck to you.
Some seniors have ZERO grandchildren, partly because of the '60's government school system that told, the few that listened..... (hopefully), that humans were killing this BEAUTIFUL planet...... 😩😭.....
That was exactly my concern: my hubby, and also my dog. But time is running, even if I’m still young (58). I think making choices for myself, like going on a backpacking trip or just camping for a night in the wood near my house is vital for me. I don’t have any friend who wants to come with me, which is quite «normal» for people at my age. But, I can’t convince myself that my retirement life will be to stay at home. No way! So, hopefully, my hubby and my dog will join me in some of those adventures. So thank you for your comment and thank you to Wendy!
Because of you, I DREAM again. Thank you for sharing with us xxx
thanks Monique- hoping your dreams are wonderful
So glad to see a senior camping and hiking with such enjoyment and joy.
I think there are a lot of us!
I have been getting my camping gear ready. I am 76 and very much alive. I loved this in my 40s to 60s and although getting to the ground and up again is a challenge, that is one of the used for hiking sticks. Thanks for showing us the way and may it only rain at night.😊
What a beautiful spot and thank you for inspiring me at 73 to start camping again!😊
Hi Marilyn- Hope it works for you.
I'm 71
You are an inspiration and so authentic. Thank you for making me think.
Watch those ideas that grow out of thinking- they have a sneaky way of growing into reality!!
You are a precious lady and a great inspiration! Thank you for the encouragement!
Very much appreciate your support and comment . thank you
Thank you Wendy for making these inspiring videos. 60+ granny here started hiking in the crown land bordering my back yard. I don’t think I’ve got the nerve to tent out over night, but oh how I would love to. You are inspiring!
You are an Amazing Woman ❣️❣️
too funny Linda- but thank you so very much.
Hi Wendy! I'll be 63 this month. My goal last year was to sleep outside 62 nights being I was 62. I am not a brave person in any stretch of the imagination. I bought an older used wall tent for my b-day present last year and set that up in our hay field. So I made about 7 nights before a storm ripped my rain fly and we took the tent down (my husband and I) and haven't had it set up since. My husband doesn't seem too enthusiastic about camping with me. So it's something I have to learn to do alone as so many of my friends are grandparents and dedicate their time to the children. It is just a little unnerving because our neighbor boys were riding 4 wheelers up on our ridge and they stopped to watch a bear sitting up in our hay field. There have been cougar sightings 3 times within a mile of us....one of them in our horse pasture. Still trying to figure out the best camp setup for my liking. But this year I think I want to find a simple design that is a hot tent that will fit just me and my dog I guess since the hubby won't go. I keep wondering if there is some sort of group or club or something that puts the word out if someone is looking for a hiking/camping partner. Sorry this is so long winded, guess you feel like a friend already! I'm in the Driftless area of Wisconsin (south central). Thank you for starting this channel. I love your goal for it. So cool.
wow- that was indeed a lofty gaol to try to achieve. The impressive thing is that you actually tried to do it so it was a successful idea. Sounds like your "back yard" may not be ideal for a start. I don't know your area so can't advise another area but I do there is a face book site where I live that is open to women who want to camp out. I don't belong to it but I know it exists. They have meet ups once in a while so women can get together to find compatible partners. Would have a really good search , maybe starting with local outdoor clubs and hiking groups. . Keep talking to friends about what you are searching for . Sometimes friends of friends will pass back info. I wish you well and applaud your efforts. You sound very determined. I truly wish you success. thank you for feeling you could reach out.
To actually start a goal and do 7 nights is a win! I don't camp outside but I do love to have a little 'camp' area, light a fire, have a little bbq with just one juicy steak on a tiny cast iron pan with a small kettle to boil water for a cuppa for one. Have my dogs on their hammocks nearby enjoying the night sounds, smell the citronella candles keeping the mozzies at bay. Any you know where I have that? Outside the house under a low bowed tree. I just pull down the kitchen blind if my husband is potting about inside and I enjoy a little time in my own company.
I may even go for a bushwalk in the morning, have a campstove lunch somewhere and reach home by afternoon for a night dinner outside. On the drive I act like a tourist even in my local area, stop and check out things, search the papers and online for little often not talked about walks, dams, anything a little different to make the day a mini-adventure. May sound not much to some but to others it is still as pleasant as a big camp out.
Oh that sounds fabulous!
Subscribed today, you are an inspiration to all us seniors. I am 69
Thanks for subbing!
You Tube actually gave me a great recommendation yesterday...it's you! Single in my 60s and over the last few years, I became too sedentary for my liking. I started picking up a few things here and there that would give me a comfortable day or more away from home. Watching a couple of your videos yesterday really helped get me in the mood. Good weather is on the way and I can hear the waves calling my name. Clear skies 💫
Same here. Wendy came into my feed yesterday! Yeah! I have been planning my first solo overnight backpacking adventure for a couple of months. Perfect timing.
Wonderful!
As an ex Londoner now living in BC I can’t get enough of the outdoors, I take my dog and video our hikes, they get minimal views but the pleasure I get from doing it is all I need. I’m 65, age is just a number, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is everything! I’ll be a subscriber to your channel, good job!
nothing like the friendship of a dog- Enjoy
What is your channel ?
@@triumfant2my channel is called Outdoors with Oz 😊
Hi Wendy, you are so very welcome! Thank you for what you are doing! Keep it up. Love the videos.
Thank you! Will do!
Enjoy your time in the outdoors! Hugs from Puerto Rico.❤🤗
You too. and thanks for watching
We should be thanking you!
I am 57 and just recently came across your channel. What a beautiful inspi action you are! So many women ‘lose themselves’ between the busyness of life and children, and forget who THEY are and you are inspiring us all to carve out time to refresh and re-energize.
your videos are peaceful, and yet invigorating. You don’t pretend to be somebody you’re not, or that you’re never afraid or that you never question, and I appreciate that honesty. We need to share your videos to inspire more women and more men to fully enjoy life in their later years!
Thank you!!
Sorry about the typos. I was using my microphone and you know how that goes sometimes. Lol.
I stumbled across your channel yesterday and commented on your Strathcona trip and it being my friend Wendy's special place. Your videos are very enjoyable and you are a very lovely lady! Thank you for sharing your adventures with the rest of us! Cheers Wendy....Shannon
Awesome! Thank you!
You give encouragement to many people…
thank you very much
Your channel just popped up on my feed and I instantly fell in love with it. Thanks for making and sharing these videos. It’s fun to see a different demographic share their camping experiences. I’m excited to start at the beginning and watch all of your videos!
thank you so very much.
❤❤❤❤
thank you
Thank you! The information you share is encouraging and informational! Love it. Would love to hear some stories about where you've been and some of the things you've seen. Thanks so much for being there for us more mature women who want to do this. I'm planning 60 miles for my 60th next year with my little brother.
what a wonderful way to celebrate , Have fabulous time together.
Thank you, Wendy! I am 72 and after a 30 year absence from camping your energy and enthusiasm has gotten me to take it back up and am totally enjoying myself. Keep up the great videos. You are very inspiring to this Geezer.
that is wonderful- I am so happy you are finding enjoyment again in the outdoors. from one Geezer to another !
I’ll be 71 soon and I love seeing other women enjoying the outdoors! I’ll enjoy watching all of your videos!!!❤️🤗🌲🏕️

No, thank YOU! I am new to your channel and love it! I am 63 and solo camp a lot. My favorite thing to do. Happy trails! :)
You go Grandma! You're an inspiration.
Wow, thank you. I think my grandkids get a bit of a kick out of all this!
❤
thanks
Usually I watch your post, feel inspired, wish I could be 'out there' like you, and then go about my business. But today you said something that resonated with me. You mentioned about reading other people's stories or comments and that this channel is about sharing. THAT'S what resonated with me. So from now on, I'm going to read other people's posts too. Thank you every one 🙂
awesome Ronnie- The viewers stories totally inspire me and cause me to be even more grateful for what I can presently do. It is about the people.
Grandma Wendy, thank you for making this channel, thank you for sharing your adventures and most of all, Thank you for being a total and absolute gem of a human being.
Thanks so much
Thank you for sharing your experience! You are inspiring me and many other ppl here. 😊

thank you Ruby- thank you for your advise. It is a challenge at times.
Great Great Great episode Wendy. Your ideas are falling into open ears , thank you !
You are so welcome!
New subscriber. This is my 2nd video to watch. Have been solo camping since 1990 but constantly hear "troubles" from people who don't understand the joy they are missing. I go down a 2track and there are vehicles coming and going while I am there. I had an uneasy time once when people plopped right down next to me. I called the ranger to alert them because they spoke about Ice which I understand is a drug. By the time I got back to camp on the 2nd or 3rd day they were gone and, supprisingly had cleanly picked up the site they chose. Talk about happy! Thanks for your channel it will encourage the same type of activity for those of us in advanced age. I'm 76.
thanks for subbing. Interesting experience. Happy for the good ending.
You are an absolute delight. I'm 57 and love joining you on your adventures.
Love having you
Hi Wendy. I just found your channel and I love it. I am almost 68 and go car camping a few times every year (in a tent). I have been thinking of going solo camping and your videos are inspiring. I just might try this fall or summer
Car camping is great too Linda- I enjoy that as well.
You GO girl! Kindred spirit here.
awesome- thanks
Wendy, hi from the wilds of North Idaho. Just want to tell you how much I appreciate you and your down-to-earth, no nonsense UA-cam channel. I’m 76, and I hunt, fish, forage, and hike in the woods and mountains here, frequently by myself. Moose, black and grizzly bear encounters are not uncommon. Living out here by myself, I’ve learned how to live respectfully with my 4 legged neighbors. I do carry 2 cans of bear spray and a satellite device, "just in case." Despite all of this, I’m still quite reluctant (aka scared) to camp overnight by myself… so I’ll watch your solo camping vid several more times while waiting for the snow to clear, and then maybe start by camping in my back 40. Thank you for both your encouragement and being an inspiration!
Wow, I think I should be watching you!!~ I could learn a lot. Funny how the sleeping part is the scary part for most of us. Guess it's the dark and decreased vision. Id pick a time when the days are really long with clear skies. I like that best. I also like to face the light with my tent Reflective light off water really helps brighten the night sky to say nothing of a full moon. A gentle wind also obscures some of the small creepy sounds. Look for an opening like ,that it may help . Doesn't always work out you get all of them but some is better than none. Wishing you success.
@@wendyoutdoors2230hahaha - well, we all have things to learn from each other!
Glad I came across your channel! I think it was recommended by someone in a FB group for hikers 55+ years of age. Really enjoy it! Thank you, thank you!
thank you. Very much appreciated
We love you, Wendy! Hope I will be as cool as you when I hit your age 🎉
you made me laugh- I remember wanting to be "cool many many years ago and who would have thought some one would call me that this many years later. lol- too funny- thanks, made my day.
I subscribed to your channel for several reasons. #1 You're located in the PNW, which is where I live (a rural location northwest of Olympia, WA), #2 you're a senior woman who, like me, likes to stay active. #3 Your filming doesn't make me get vertigo. #4 You're very personable and likable! I wish you all the best with all of your endeavors.
thank you on all 4 counts. I really appreciate your viewing and sharing. We live in a great part of the world.
I came across your channel recently and really like how you bring nature to us
you are most welcome.
Thank you. I think I can face my fears & try hiking alone now. Just turned 65. I was so brave until I turned 55. I guess if something bad happens in the woods something could have happened even in a shopping mall these days.
Love your videos Wendy! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I’ve not been camping or hiking much in my adult life… but because of you I feel very inspired to start again so my 2 young children can enjoy it with me. You are great! 😊
Hi Wendy. Greetings from Australia! I have just found your channel. I am also a Grandma who loves hiking. I watch a number of You tubers - they are great but are all much younger. It’s wonderful to find an older person making You tube videos about hiking. Well done learning new skills and sharing them with us.
Hello Angelica- Yes, most are younger for sure and that spurred me on. I hope more older outdoor folks might join in and start channels too. There seems to be an untapped audience out there hungry to share experiences and learn from one another. Thanks for checking the channel.
The thank you goes to you Wendy. If I ever build up the courage to solo hike/camp it will with your help. For years I tried to find women to camp with and got no where. Everything I found was families or for men or I'd go to a meet-up and find I was the lone female with 10 men. Just didn't make me feel comfortable and I'm sure didn't make them feel comfortable either, so I'd bow out. Finding more experienced women (ok, older) just haven't come my way until you. So, whether you wanted it or not, you are my guide and encourager. We have totally different land lay as I live in South Carolina but that's ok. The idea is to take the 1st step and just get out. So many 1st steps since my husband passed. My sons are not helping because they want mama to be home safe where they know where she is. So, I ordered one of those tracking devices you mentioned in the "afraid to go alone" video. I think that will help because my sons can know where I am and I can text for help if I need it or if they can't get me to answer a text they will have my co-ordinates to know where to start looking for me. They won't like it but they are big boys and they'll get used to it. I think it will be useful to me also because I do have rural land but like I said in another comment - we do have poisonous snakes, a boat load of coyotes and other potential dangers on the land. However, I can't live my life in fear . I'm trying real hard to build up my courage and stop telling myself I'm to old or what if I forget my medicine. And I'm not going to tell my aunts - yes, I still have aunts in their 80 and 90's, at least until I get a little experience under my belt to counter their cries of how dangerous it is! Strange how life throws us twists and curves. All my siblings are gone (I am the oldest) as are my parents, 1 of my sons (39 when he passed) and my husband but I still have aunts and cousins older than me alive. I'm tired of being sad and afraid. I think now is the time for me to start living again. So, thank you, Ms. Wendy. You are an inspiration.
Well I am surely impressed Sherri- You are a strong and determined woman . Living in fear is very wearing and hard on us. I wish you the very best as you venture down your path. I hope you find the peace and happiness I think most of us crave. Best wishes.
Hi from St. Louis!
Just subscribed. I love listening to the wisdom of older than me men and women. And I love camping.
sounds like a good fit for you. Lots of valuable comments lately on the channel. thanks for subbing
Thank you, Wendy, for making and sharing your lovely videos.
Glad you like them! and thanks for watching and sharing.
You are an inspiration and I know this family appreciates you!
Thank you so much
I see you wearing denim pants. The backpackers tell us "cotton kills" because it gets damp from sweat or rain... and when temps drop can contribute to hypothermia, etc.
Thumbs up # 612. Your geniuses self shines and that what people like plus your adventures..it refreshing for sure. Bama B.
thank you so very much.
I'm always looking for outdoor videos with the grounded pace of wisdom, curiosity, and humanity. I really love your channel, which I've only recently found.
thank you very much Christopher. I hope you find something for yourself here.
Wendy I've just discovered your channel today & really enjoying your content!! I look forward to following your adventures ❤
thanks so much and welcome aboard this little boat!
Thank you! :-) I moved away from Vancouver Island last Autumn and now am living in Arkansas USA for a few years. I love seeing you enjoying Van Isle and learning from you. I am 67, physically disabled, widowed, and preparing things to camp and travel once again in my SUV. There are oodles of beautiful places to camp for hundreds of miles around where I now live, or thousands, even. But I look forward to getting back to the Island too. Your videos are excellent and inspiring. Enjoy.
thank you very much- I am so happy for you that you are continuing to prepare for more camping trips and making the effort to get out. It is always worth the expense of energy once we're out, isn't it? Great that you have lots of great places to go. The world is full of them when we open our eyes.
I love your channel. Keep posting. I feel so relaxed when I watch your channel. Please stay safe and happy. You are amazing and doing great things! What a great woman you are!
Hi Louisa- I am still quite overwhelmed and humbled. thanks you so much.
Really love your videos, please keep them coming! Who are your favorite UA-camrs to watch?
I love @Lost Lakes, @Jim Baird Adventurer, @girlinthe woods. plus many otheres
This is your third video I listen to and I just love it. I am 71 now, and I am from Québec. Don't pay attention to my photo! it was taken a few years ago.😆 I have been doing solo camping and hiking, just about all my life. It is very refreshing to listen to your comments and to view your videos. I plan a trip out Ouest in the middle of may in my small mini-van to join a friend for a bit, whose been living out West for 3 or 4 years now, and I just may be become a nomad full time, that is why videos like yours are so helpful to me and also I love to see grand-mas like me still active and who love the wilderness as much as I do. THANK YOU FOR SHARING!
Hi Frances- I do hope you have a wonderful trip out this way in your van. It is great you have someone to meet up with for a while. You sound like a very knowledgeable outdoors person. Who knows, you too may want to seat a You tube channel. It will be interesting to see how you like full time van life. Many love it. Safe travels to you.
I'm 50 years old and I love nature. I like hiking and camping at Rainier National Park in Seattle. Some of the trails are paved for kids and elderly people. I like it.
Thank you Wendy, it is great to hear of good people like yourself in this world. Have fun! May Mother Nature continue to fullfill you and nourrish you
OMG. A video about camping ,hiking and just enjoying your self. Without a load out bag for when shtf or how to set up your perimeter much less how much amo and how many mre you will need to survive. Thank you. I’m 72 but love camping and canoeing but after 3 back surgeries can’t do the backpacking any more but still love winter camping. You give me hope. You get the thumbs up and I subscribed too keep it up we’re pulling for you 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
I have found you some days ago and have enjoyed your videos. I will walk the northern route to Santiago de Compostela in Span, 870 km long, its my first pilgrimage at almost 69 years. With your assistance I will sleep in my tent and stay entirely autonomous.
Thank you indeed, and God bless you! With Love, Monika
Thank you Monika. What an amazing trip for you. That is one long hike. Never done anything like that myself but who knows,--- It just may happen . I have been secretly wondering about it. Don't tell. All things start with an idea.
How delightful. Just sat down to eat supper and up pops your video. Thank you Wendy for taking all of us on your outings with you. Much appreciated and inspiring.
Blessings
thank so much
Hi Wendy! I'd like to thank you for inspiring others to get out and enjoy the gift of nature. You've shared so many beautiful places and honest reflection. You are a joy.

Glad you like them! thank you very much. It is my pleasure for sure.
Thank you for making videos. Just found your channel. I'm excited to watch them all. I'm in my mid 50s. I did a few backpacking trips with my kids. They are grown now and I have thought about backpacking solo. Maybe I'll go back and do the entire Pinhoti Trail one day.
You never know where an idea will lead you. thanks for watching
Hi Wendy. Having just gone through 2 full knee replacements the first exactly a year ago today I have had a lot of spare time an sought boardroom therapy from channels like yours I started to wonder if at 56 it was to late to start wild camping as knees been a huge deterrent up to now. Then I found your channel ( sub added ) and I must say what a inspiration you are! I’m now starting to learn stuff like lighting fires wit ferro rods ect an fat wood I have a long way to go but now I know I’m going to succeed! I think your starting out video is the best I’ve seen and advice is great! Putting fantasy against reality was the biggest bit of knowledge for me an getting it into perspective! I been invited out for a day an overnighter which I’m going to do when I’m a bit stronger! Sorry to waffel but am enjoying the episodes to. Thank you
That is wonderful Robert. I think we all benefit from learning new skills and challenging ourselves. We don't have to climb Everest , just biting off a small chuck at a time is totally wonderful. I hope your healing and recovery continue to go well.
Thank YOU!
I am so grateful that your "3 Fears" video popped up in my feed, your videos are just what we older gals need for inspiration. I especially liked your recommendation of the Zoleo, it is so much more affordable than the Garmin.
Your videos are a great resource for those of us who need a little encouragement to get back out into nature in our twilight years, after all, twilight is a beautiful time to enjoy the outdoors! Thank you again!
Absolutely love that- morning Twilight is the dawn of another beginning. The birds always are ecstatic about it. ??Lesson to be learned-- I think so.
I lived briefly on Vancouver Island in Uclulelet in the late '70's and am enjoying the scenery in your videos!
It is indeed a beautiful area- I am visiting there again in a couple of weeks.
You're welcome! I found your channel only recently, and I love that an older person is out hiking. I'm in my early seventies and I need to get out more. Thank you. 🌲

I'm one of these new subscribers from your last video. I will have to look up your previous ones!
thank you Sheri and welcome. I hope you find something either entertaining and /or useful.
I was very glad to find your channel Wendy, in some respects you helped my cause. I'll be 80 in a couple of months and I'm a regular back packer and all year round camper. My grown kids and Grand daughter often shake their heads and ask "Is it safe?"
I took great delight in showing them your video about how you deal with possible threats and pointed out that here in Wales, UK, that unlike the lady in the United States amongst the Grizzly Bears, the worst wild animal I am likely to encounter is a large Rabbit with a bad attitude..😊
I look forward to watching more of your adventures.
Nothing worse than a feisty rabbit, I hear they run in gangs and take over your campsite!
I'm only 75 but have been hiding in my warm little apartment while my backpacking gear sits neglected in the closet.
This channel and your lovely comment have opened my eyes, and are giving me much needed inspiration to get out there. Thank you!
Start gently, fine weather and short trips will tempt you back into a great pastime. Good luck.@@lapsedluddite3381
love to see the dialogue. this channel can help facilitate that learning from one another. great!
Have just found you Wendy, and have subscribed after watching a couple of your videos. You are so inspiring, and I am looking forward to watching all your existing videos, and hopefully the many more which are to come. Maybe I’ll even catch some of your glorious relaxed confidence to take myself off on some (even small) adventures! I really hope so… At least there are no bears in the UK! Thank you xxx
Septuagenarian here. Nice tone, Wendy.
thanks very much.
You're editing is very professional 👍
Thank you! 😁
I will be turning 62 this year. We love camping and being outdoors. Nature brings us peace
Hi Wendy , Ive only recently discovered your wonderful channel, which im thoroughly enjoying.A disability has robbed me of confidence this past 10 years , but is now fixed.I have totally lost my confidence in many things , but im honestly inspired to learn from you to be at peace in wild spaces and life in general .May you always walk /hike in peace and happiness. Many thanks for sharing your skills with us.
thank you very much Jane- Being at peace can be found anywhere I think but being outdoors seems to open the gateway more easily for me.
Good suggestion. No wildlife stories, they may want to listen in!!!
You have a lovely little community Wendy. I just got back from a solo camp and I was thinking about your bear stories while lying in my tent in Australia trying to sleep through the night noise of fifty bird varieties and a rampaging possum and wishing I was able to record it all. Congratulations and I'm looking forward to your next adventure. PS there may have been a koala 'bear' in the gum tree above, I heard its gravelly growl.
Hello Judith. Sounds like an amazing area for birds. A great way to be kept awake. Can't imagine a koala. They look so absolutely beautiful , are they a danger at all. I know nothing about them really other than they look like the Koala teddy I had as a child. Maybe not quite so cuddly!!!
One of your videos came up in my feed this week, and I'm so glad it did! I'm 54, and just discovered my love of hiking about 3 years ago. My youngest daughter was my hiking buddy, and she flew our nest and moved to Colorado. I miss her company and have been hesitant to hike on my own. But after watching a few of your videos, I'm totally going to start back in my state parks and places I know well, and get myself back out in the woods! Thanks Wendy for the advice, and a reminder that we can do just about anything we set our minds to if we plan and prepare!
hope it goes well for you. Sounds like a good plan you have charted out for yourself. Have fun!
Hi Wendy!! I just subscribed!! I am trying to overcome fear in a high volume Grizz and Black Bear country to hike alone. I will be going back and watching your channel to gain some insight and inspiration. I have a feeling this channel will blow up among independent women that want to challenge themselves. Thank you for posting! I love your personality!!
Inspiring ❤
Thanks Patricia

Hi Wendy! I just became a grandma too (in my early 60's) and I've just subscribed--just found you yesterday. I appreciated your video about things we are afraid of, as I plan on doing some solo hiking myself and it was very encouraging to hear your point of view. Thanks so much and will keep an eye out for what you do next.
Thanks for subbing! I really appreciate your time to watch
thank you for the awesome content
Glad you enjoy it!
Wow, Wendy from 1 gramma to another you are very inspiring.
Thank you Sandra. We grandparents can really support one another and hopefully model our love of nature to the young folks in our families.
Hi Wendy! I’m loving your encouragement in camping . Please try and remember to tell the temperature . Very helpful and interesting😀
Love seeing the stuff you are used to seeing - but in western PA - we don’t share the same view . I feel transported!!😅❤️
Thanks for the tip and I will try to remember that although I don't carry a thermometer. Maybe I should consider that. I am happy to share my environment with you and am pleased you are enjoying it. I am sure there are wonderful place where you live too that I have never seen. Isn't this age of social media great for that? thanks for sending along your thoughts.
🇧🇷
