As a cancer patient, I would rather die from a procedure trying to fight cancer than die from the cancer by doing nothing. The Whipple procedure has saved/prolonged lives. All cancer surgeries and treatments carry a risk of death, but that risk is smaller than the risk of death from the cancer itself. At least your friend tried. I am so sorry. ❤

You are absolutely correct. I worked at a hospital which did Whipples. The patients came out with 3 or 4 kinds of tubes, requiring so much post-op care that our patient load was reduced by one if we were assigned to care for a Whipple patient. When my 80-year-old mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, I was really conflicted about whether surgery would be best for her, but she said even before the official diagnosis that she did not want any surgery if she ended up having cancer. She said that she had a wonderful 80 years and that she was willing to accept whatever fate was in store for her. When she got the diagnosis of Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, she elected not to have any chemo because at that point, it would only increase her lifespan by a few weeks, and she would rather be mostly well with a steep decline at the end rather than being sick most of whatever time she had left. She died 6 months after her diagnosis as she wished, she was relatively well for 5 months before she began her rapid decline in her final 3 weeks. This taught me that accepting no treatment is also a valid choice for cancer patients.

@@tokyotessie cancer treatment is indeed a personal choice. I am 32 so I would do the procedure. But definitely not doing any cancer treatment at 80! I probably wont do anything after 60 if I even make it to 60. If someone decides to do it, and they die, I say at least they tried, but that doesn’t mean that not trying is a bad thing! ❤️

Possibly a future video on "harm reduction" in what to leave out, when you can't afford to be additive in your supplements? I feel like people need more education and reinforcement on what NOT to eat than what ELSE to eat.

My Dad was an Orthopedic Surgeon who came to the same conclusion for the same reason. He found his patients that didn't do surgery but went to PT to correct muscle imbalance and ate a good diet, often healed themselves and ended up with a similar result after 5 years, as the patients that had the surgery, and were stronger / better shape than prior to the injury as well. He personally needed his knees replaced in a bad way, as they were severely bowed out and literally bone on bone with arthritis. He would be so stiff by the end of his long surgery days, he could barely walk to his car or bend his knees to drive home, but he didn't want to risk an infection so he never had the surgeries even after he retired. It reminds me of my Neuro Opthamologist telling me 10-15 years ago to hold off on corrective eye surgery until I no longer noticed all the eye Drs in his office wearing glasses, because if they wouldnt risk their own eyes, I shouldn't either. I suspect that has changed by now but interesting none the less.

I'm a huge fan of Dr Youn's videos and bought his first book, "Playing God," a few weeks ago. I've had horrendous & weird health problems my whole life, and I would give absolutely anything to have ever found a doctor as compassionate and truly caring as Dr Y. His book was what the ads like to call "unputdownable," which is usually BS, but in this case it was true. I literally laughed out loud, cried, held my breath, all while reading it in one sitting. As soon as I can scrape up the money, I'll buy his new book, tho my financial situation probably will prevent me from following most of his recommendations (having destroyed jaw joints & being completely unable to eat solid food won't help with the diet). But oh, how I wish most doctors had half the caring & ethics of Dr Y. Or even 1/10th. I've had so much abuse & disgusted dismissal from so many doctors because of my weird symptoms (I have a rare genetic condition, Acute Intermittent Porphyria) that I've been called a lying, hypochondriacal, attention seeking time-waster literally dozens of times by MDs that are supposed to "do no harm." Severe emotional trauma is harm, too.

OMG, that sounds just awful! I'm *so* sorry that you have had such terrible treatment for your health. I was a professional nurse for 28 years, but in 2017 I got terribly sick and became a professional patient. There were so many doctors who were happy to brand me a borderline personality disorder despite only being a high-functioning ADHD survivor who had depression after years of maltreatment by my medical staff. But after years of complaining about my disorders and getting one miserable quack after another who just did tests and then told me it was all in my head, I had to make a change and it started with *myself.*
I realised that no one is going to *speak for me* me if I don't *speak up for myself,* but we also need to remember that medicine has become a drudgery in many lives and it can be true with the doctor and his staff too. They have less and less time given to them by the insurance companies and are told what tests they can and can't do, as if the adjustors have medical degrees, which they decidedly do *not.* A little understanding on our part goes a long way. And remembering that doctors hear people complain all day about how they are suffering, it sometimes makes them a little intolerant of *our* problems.
However, you are your own advocate. No one understands the life you've had but you. You can keep in mind how much the doctors go through, but ultimately we have to stand up for ourselves and tell shitty doctors that they are not treating us well and that they are hurting us rather than helping us.
After several years, I began cultivating my *OWN* care. I finally have the health team of my dreams. I encourage you to discuss how you are surviving your medical condition rather than how it is killing you. I'm not telling you how to behave, but you will find a more ready ear to listen to you if you remember to give them the respect they deserve, but don't let a bad doctor walk all over you. Walk away! (literally, but *my* walking away is in a wheelchair! Bad doctors see the back of my wheelchair as I drive out of their offices, in search of one who will respect *me)*
It's a corporate world out there and your doctor is selling himself as much as your plumber is. If he doesn't fix your leaking sink, *get a NEW one* and keep shopping until you find one who is good to you.
May this new year be a fresh start with grace and blessings. You deserve love, but don't forget to give it to yourself as well as those around you. Namaste!

@@koriw1701 You are so right, that we have to be our own advocates. It's so difficult at times, especially after years of emotional abuse, as you already know. I'm pretty sure I start out every appointment treating a new doc with respect, and try to stick to factual data, not just gripe. After coming within literal weeks of dying THREE TIMES in the last decade b/c strings of doctors refused to believe i was anything but a nutcase, I admit I no longer have much compassion for how overworked doctors are, even tho intellectually I know they're under the corporate gun, but I keep that to myself. I worked for years doing basic research in a lab attached to a med school, so i got to work for & with MDs, & train residents that were interested in research as well as clinical, in lab techniques, in addition to going a about a zillion docs as a patient. I have to admit, the things the residents said to me about how much they hated their stupid, whiny, time-wasting patients (all exact quotes), really appalled me...& these were people who didn't yet have years of listening to people complain. This was back in the late 80s & 90s when corporatization of medicine hadn't *quite* taken over yet. It never seemed to occur to them that I was an actual human who might have some reaction to what they said...with two wonderful exceptions, they treated anyone who wasn't an MD as if they were bugs. On the rare occasions as a patient I run into a doc who treats me like a human being, i stomp on the impulse to fling my arms around their ankles, but I do make it a point to tell them that I am very grateful to them for listening to me and treating me with compassion. They seem quite startled when I do so, so I guess they don't get much warm fuzzies either.

please have your home checked by a very honest trustworthy mold inspector and check for black mold many homes have black mold in the walls.
the walls have to be inspected internally behind the walls not just a lying air test done in the middle of your living room.
there is an attorney and her office is called "just well" in Texas and she and her family had come down with all kinds of diseases that doctors were calling somatic and they came to find out it was black mold in the walls throughout their brand new, newly built home! And she finally found an inspector who knew black mold and found the black mold in all of her walls.
they had to vacate the home
      Permanently!
      and probably demolish it.
her family have had illnesses and now they are slowly healing.

@@kellyhoward6941I think most people can agree with your statement. It all starts from the top . These so called medical school and greedy hospitals are allowing such doctors to behave in such a poor and uneducated manner . Compassion should be taught and enforced . And Patients should be able to score their doctors in a national database . Etc etc
I have horror stories myself of being treated like a bug . I almost died twice . and insulted many times. There's never been obesity in my family, and yes, my aunts and uncles (mom has 9 siblings, my dad's an only child) they all have amazing skin, have all not even shown signs of aging until 60. Right now they're almost all (some have passed) 60-80 years old and in relatively good health. Most people do not need "treatments" like Botox. My profile picture is from this year, and I just turned 51 in August this year. Will be 52 in 2024. And all I ever used (past years to seal in more skin care) is Nivea's blue tin. I have extremely dry skin. And I don't think my skin looks bad, at all.

I've been on collagen-enhancing supplements, ultra-sound treatments, laser treatments, healthy green eating, and lots of exercise for years, and it had nowhere near as good of an effect as a simple facial fat transfer. Of course these are good for overall health, but I don't believe they're the skin-care miracle that people make it out to be unless you start extremely early before any sagging or hollow cheeks develop.

Ugh sales pitch. Here buy this and don't have surgery or hey I'll still do that face lift to. Makes that money either way.

What you calling Autophagy is what Muslims do when fasting Mondays and Thursdays of every week. So fascinating that this practice have been done for centuries. And we just know exactly how to explain the benefit of it.

All those years of medical school and 0 training on nutrition and skin care!?!?! That is actually terrifying. Another reason to not trust doctors. Nutrition should be the first thing learned! I hate it here.

Normal for 200 years. Yes, terrifying. Have you ever seen a nurse's cart at the grocery store? Chips, desserts, sweet beverages, maybe meat. LOL

If only the surgeons causing awful complications from surgeries, promising patients gen*tala that look ‘real’ would think like you. Instead of getting as rich as they can as fast as they can while being treated like stars 😤

Do you have to be so scammy and create emotional videos to push your products? Also, studies have shown that some of your recommendations are no better than placebo. This video is no different than a midnight infomercials on TV. You are making our profession look bad
