    I love Lad Na BUT I don't order it from Lad Na/Pad See Ew stall. I usually order this dish from A La Carte restaurant because it has much more ingredients like sea food, beef etc. So you can choose a different meat you prefer. I love Lad Na Goong (shrimp) most.

    Wow that is a lot of sugar going into the radna😮 I know that they put sugar in almost everything and the food in Bangkok is on the sweeter side compared to the south. Once I ordered dry egg noodles with pork and it taste sooo sweet. I will never forget to order noodles without sugar now.😅

    • @jamesheng1878

      It’s both. It’s just English doesn’t have the letters to fully communicate the exact sound it is in Thai. Pailin Kitchen recently did a video on this actually .

  • @schubertuk
    @schubertuk 3 місяці тому +1

    Was this video published with 'Lad Na' and then republished with "Rad Na' or did my eyes deceive me!? [Yes I know Rad Na is how the Thai people are meant to pronounce it - with a rolling 'R', and Lad Na is how they actually pronounce it-- apparently!]

    Using mangrove wood…. Disappointing contribution to environmental damage, biodiversity loss, lower water quality and increased risks to climate change.

    • @ozsmiley07
      @ozsmiley07 3 місяці тому +19

      Mangrove wood for charcoal production in Thailand can only be taken from sustainably managed plantations. Harvesting of mangroves off public land is illegal. And plantations by law must also contribute to the rehabilitation of former mangrove wetland areas.

    • @mongkoktakeaway
      @mongkoktakeaway 3 місяці тому +7

      @@ozsmiley07you’d be ignorant to think there’s such a thing as genuine sustainable harvesting anywhere in Asia.

      Mangroves will be virtually non-existent in Thailand in a decade or two. The impact upon sea life and the food chain will be devastating. But hey, there will be no shortage of tacky resorts and go-go bars.
