Welcome to the official UA-cam channel of The Monkees, home of 60s chart-topping hits “Last Train To Clarksville,” “I’m A Believer” and “Daydream Believer,” as well as multi-platinum, #1 albums ‘The Monkees,’ ‘More of the Monkees,’ ‘Headquarters’ and ‘Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd.’
Monkee-mania began in Los Angeles in 1965 when Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, the late Peter Tork and the late Davy Jones were cast in the eponymous television series about a struggling rock band inspired by The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night. The quartet brought a singular mix of pop, rock, psychedelia, Broadway and country to their resulting music. By the time the series aired its final episode on March 25, 1968, The Monkees had sold 16 million albums and 7.5 million singles. Few could have predicted the impact The Monkees would have on music and pop culture at large, one that still reverberates more than 50 years later.

Rest in peace. Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith. I emailed Micky Dolenz in December and told him that I really enjoyed getting to see him and Mike Nesmith at the Texas Trust CU theater in October.
😊
I'm 64yrs gone and I have been a Fan of The Monkees since mid 1960's✌🏼
Please add these guys to the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame!
And what will that achieve?
@@lucasoheyze4597 They deserve it!!!
@@suzanne9622 Maybe it's partly because I'm in Britain and that Hall of Fame means very very little to us.
They should of been in there "years" ago.
It's to political with the bozos at the top.
The place is a joke. They don't deserve the Monkees or Zevon.
Great, Mike and his Gretsch 12 String!!!
Unfortunately, it isn’t the original. He said in an interview years ago. He had the TV show Gretsch and his touring Gretsch stolen. 😢
@@judybroyleschieze And now, he has a new Gretsch 12 String! I see them on the Monkees 2012 Tour! .-)
Vocals are solid on this tour. WOW! No complaints from me!
Hermosos recuerdos de mi corta juventud
Love seeing Mickey's sister back there.. she has a wonderful voice..
Absolutely brilliant.. 👏👏👏👏
I love the music and the show!!!!! Great seeing you still doing your thing!!!
Mickey has the Wizard Glick hat!
Ironic because it used to be Mike who was known as the Monkee with the hat. Now it's Micky! Poor guy can't come to terms with his baldness
I love this this is great
Wow! Micky sounds as good as ever and great to see him and Nez on stage together keeping the magic of the music alive ~ awesome band too ... love it!!!! Boyce & Hart
Belíssimo! Gosto muito de vocês!♥️👏👏
Can’t Wait hear the full Album and Hey Mike & Mickey can you come to Charlotte Please
Wish Davy and Peter were with us. The four were so right. 💔
Why is this not being released on dvd/blu ray?????
Hopefully it will be eventually since obviously they filmed it. Maybe they just didn't want to interfere with sales of the CD
Muito lindo!♥️
The Monkees may have originally started out as a tv show with but the music they made has stood the test of time and is permanently ingrained in the world. For that I think The Monkees should be recognized by the RRHOF . As far as not playing their own instruments early on is not relevant because many artists used studio musicians in their recordings back then.
Anyone know who the rhythm section players are? The drummer is seriously good!
Sounds good. Funny hat the Mickey is wearing I guess there is a bit of hair loss- me too
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤we love you your train your monkeys you are the best train to take you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
YES! The looks and sounds fabulous. So is there a DVD/Blu-ray version?
Certainly hope so eventually.
Why is Davy not there? BECAUSE MIKE NEVER CAME AROND TILL THE WHOLE BAND WASN’T THERE!
For one thing this was filmed 7 years after Davy died. He and Mike had a falling out after Mike unexpectedly left the 1997 tour following harsh reviews in England. They never made up.
Mike Nesmith, Mickey Dolenz,...Gee. Here, I am, wondering where are Davey Jones and Peter Tork. Then, I remembered. They haven’t been here in a very long while. Feels like a couple of missing teeth to me. Hurts.
Wasn’t this about leaving for Vietnam?
Good question
Yes it was.
I don't think I've ever heard a live track from anyone sound so good..
I have.
I have to It was so sad when Mike died So only Micky left 😢 I went to a monkees consent last month and still not even a teenager yet but hey hey I'm a drummer and I wish I was born in the 60s
Both Micky & Mike were old, but still sounded great. So sad only 1 is left.
Mickey is sounding in fine form. So many memories coming home from States school in the 60's and watching the Monkeys on TV in Australia.
uhhh That's Monkee's
Good times and the best of times.
7 year old kid watching these guys on tv ... very cool to hear them later in life
Lord. I miss the 60's.... Life was so much simpler and the music was so much better....
Michael Nesmith presente! Look at these guys! They went well beyond the Monkees and were two excellent musicians. Michael was a truly talented bluegrass and country icon. RIP.
glad he did.. rip mike
Let’s face it! By any objective or even subjective measure, Sixties rock or pop music was better by a mile than anything around today. You just listen to this song and marvel at it. I’m not your stepping Stone is another classic! I’m a Believer yet another. Just buy the Monkees Greatest hits and revel in it and forget todays confused, poorly realized noise that passes for music. 👏🏻🎸😎
Oh and buy ABBAs greatest hits and you’ll see Seventies music was better by a mile too!
Buy ABBA's box set. Loaded with hits and the beautiful lesser known songs.
@@v-town1980
You’re preaching to the Choir.
I already own their Box Set. And their greatest hits and more greatest hits!
Still luv you guys!
In 2018 I made the trip to America just to see them live! (And I was lucky enough to shake Mike's hand yay!!!!) Love you guys!!!
it was worth making the trip!
Roberta Marcon, Wow!! I bet you had a great experience seeing them L I V E!!! I used to watch them, religiously, every time they came on TV. Don’t remember when they started the TV Show. Just that, they were ALWAYS there. As far back as I recall. I still watched them as a teenager. Eventually, I grew out of my obsession. But I had a crush on each one of them at one time or another. I only had the 1st 2 albums of theirs,...that’s it.
I was one of the lucky ones who was there when they got their star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, and I was also one of the lucky ones who went to the press conference afterwards, and saw them the previous night at the Greek Theater {w/Mike.}
I'm actually watching this on a train to Clarksville right now.
Is it the last train?
Coincidence
I think not!!
Jk
Battle Of Trenton Clarksville is in Tennessee
Tell me you're coming home...
A good choice of train. 😁👍
Unlike most bands, these guys play every instrument in concert. They're truly men with many hats. Right on!
I can honestly say that I don't think that ANY GROUP has affected me as much as this one!!
pretty subtle anti-war song
So happy to have The Monkees in my life!
My life is so much better with The Monkees !!!
Same well by Mike😭😭
White-hot
I watched them every Saturday it was a big deal no school and watch the monkees
R.I.P. Michael Nesmith,
I'm seventeen, I started watching the Monkees TV show because all we had on TV was westerns. But I loved the show. It was funny, it had music, and their voices were amazing. I love you guys!
I loved the show as well, and have their music on my Spotify
I love the Monkees!
Ditto !!!
❤🎉😂😢Monkees we all love you here at UA-cam and everywhere in this planet❤❤❤❤❤❤
Saw them at three dates in 2019. Great shows! Played a lot of Nesmith Monkees era songs such as "Auntie's Municipal Court." Really fabulous. Do yourself a favor, buy a ticket if they're coming to your town!
love you guys
Why they are not in the Rock N Roll hall of fame is a crime. And yes, they can play their instruments.
😀😀😀😀
@whiteaxxxe "The ignorance is strong with this one!" -Master Yoda FYI, Nesmith wrote 12 of the songs on the lp. Whatever.
@whiteaxxxe Your rant suggest an attempt at projective identification. It's okay that you're a crappy guitar player. No one is perfect.
Oh my goodness I love this song this was my old first monkees album I got for. Christmas back in 1966
But they didn't. If Led Zeppelin wrote and played less than five percent of their best material, would they be Hall Of Famers?
Will the live video also be released?!
Apparently not, according to the Zilch! podcast.
Well every body keep asking about live dvd totally cannot understand why not...
Looking forward to seeing Mike and Micky in San Antonio this September; I know it will be a night to remember most fondly.
You guys rule
Godspeed.
Phenomenal

I’ve loved the monkees since I was 9 I’m 66 I fell in love I have loved these guys since. Through the passing of our beloved Davy, then Peter , now Mike they through all the concerts and tours they still sound amazing. I’m sure their cheering Micky on from heaven as he celebrates his brothers
RIP Mike.
I love youuu
Davy Jones. December 30 1945 - February 29 2012 😓
Peter York. February 13 1942 - February 18 2019 😓
Mike Nesmith. December 30 1942 - December 10 2021 😓
All that’s left is micky
So, there is this video from this concert and also The Door Into Summer and... that's it! The rest of the show is audio only released on the Mike & Micky Show live album. How about releasing the full concert with ALL video on DVD or Blu Ray? It is the final Monkees concert ever professionally recorded and filmed. Let us see it!
Excelente, gracias por subirlo.
Se siente una emoción y nostalgia fuerte ver a estos genios.
The Monkees Forever!
Eventhough I was only 4 when the Monkees broke, I grew up watching them on Saturday mornings! Got to see Mickey at the Alaska State Fair in 2008! Awesome show! Awesome video! Glad to see they are still making it!
If you don't know about the movie they did, Head, find it and view it!
Is that Nez-in-law, Circe Link singing backup?
Battle Of Trenton
Yes it’s Circe in the background along with Micky’s sister Coco.
Legends! Talent!

Wooooooooooow
I pre ordered the CD and the Vinyl.... At least this purchase is not going to break the bank....
Dolenz still has a wonderful tenor voice at 75!
i still say if the record company would of let mike write the songs like he wanted to they could have been taken more seriously as one of the greatest groups of the 60s ...
Each song has meaningful memories and meaning would understand why I am greatfull for all generation to generation for following
LOVE IT!!!
DVD release please !
Rock on!! 💞💞💞
There's a Clarksville here in Michigan. Every time I pass the exit I think of this song.
2degucitas Have you ever passed by Pleasant Valley Road? I have to sing it every time.
Why did i not know those places existed
Might be about that Clarksville.
@@poni_poki Where is Pleasant Valley Road?
Going to see them in Vancouver B.C. in April can't wait
As I'm sure you know by now you're going to have to wait a bit longer. All the dates on the spring tour have been rescheduled for the fall. Hopefully our lives will be back to normal by then
Uhhh...I don't think you will be able to do that. Leastways probably not this month.
@@stephaniestavropoulos1639 I know the date changed til July.....f
Dont fucking think I'm not following this
Oh man the memories... love them so much
I have been thinking about the golden age of AM radio. This song epitomizes that era. In Southwestern Michigan, we were rocking to WLS AM out of Chicago.
Awesome video.
"89, WLS." This was a great station! Larry Lujack Tommy Edwards Animal Stories. Fred Winston John Records Landecker {"Records truly is my middle name."} Sorry! This is about the Monkees. WLS was mentioned, & I got a bit carried away and off topic.
@@stephaniestavropoulos1639 You get a shiny new dime just like Uncle Larry used to give to Little Tommy.
Back in the 70’s at night, I was able to pick up WLS all the way in southern VA!
Thankyou Great
Lovely, Americana at it's best!!!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the music🎶
Wonderfully done brought back extremely fond memories❤❤
What a treat thank you for uploading this!
I also want to add...The gang should have done a live LP for the public back when all 4 got back together in the 80s.. Still a little miffed at mike for coming on board AFTER THE LOSS OF DAVY.... Should have been a part when it happened in the 80s...
At least we got this from all four.

You forgot about Peter.
@@SANDYMILLER23 Mike came back 7 years before Peter died.
@@SANDYMILLER23 No... I was talking around the time that Davy died.. Now all of a sudden Mike jumps on board.. I guess I can now say that with Pete gone.. Mike is fully onboard... Hate to be a smart ass .. But that is the truth...
@@TheBossOfProWrestling He came back for a few dates in the start... But I wonder other then his video ranch.. Did he not like Davy or other members... I would have loved to have seen him with the others....
Fantastic! Thank you for posting!
Looking forward to seeing Mike & Micky in concert next month!!
There's a Clarksville, Tennessee as my great-grandfather was once a United Methodist pastor of his church. Seems almost 100 years. MIckey Dolenz was a WNBC radio personality i thought. MIKE A PRODUCER RIP davey and peter
It was WCBS-FM in NYC, Mickey did morning drive time until the station switched formats.
While it wasn't initially intended, Clarksville, TN quickly became the "Clarksville" of the song because of the Air Force base just across the state line since the song was about a soldier wishing to see his girlfriend one last time before going off to war.
That's M-I-C-K-Y.
Great songs, shows, tour, and a top notch band of some of the best musicians around. I wish the live album would have included the show opener "Good Clean Fun", but it is absent for some reason. Thank you.
Sounds great! I'm glad I caught this tour. It was really a lot of fun! So sad about Mike's passing, but Micky is carrying the torch.
Awesome!
Everlasting memory. Love each and every one of these guys. They have brought so much joy to my life. And still do.
Just saw an old Army training movie from '67 and this song was in it.
😮
Great job! Love it! From us here Down Under, Australia

RIP mike
Who can possibly dislike this?!
It's worth buying one of the extensive multi-disc compilations of Monkees material. It's nearly all brilliant. Full of superb songs and fantastic musicianship (yes I know it wasn't actually them playing most of the time, in the early stages, except for Mike) and some of their less remembered tunes are absolute gems and as good as anything of that magical era. Who'd have thought a 'fake band' would turn out to be so genuinely great. And this is a great performance!
Their best stuff was when they played their music. Third album on.
@@Th3K1dd It's all great. You can't ignore the early classics. Written by some of the greatest song-writers around, and played by a fantastic band. Head is a psychedelic masterpiece.
@Rob Micky and Davy.
@Rob They were all working musicians. Micky sang and played guitar with his band The Allniters, Davy played drums and was in musicals (he learned to play guitar and bass),Peter could play 5/6 instruments and he and Mike were working in the folk scene.
almost 7 $ shipping? you must be joking!
R.I.P
It'd have been great to have seen them reunite when Davy Jones could've made the gig. He's missed, but in spite of the loss, they still sound quite fine!
Peter Tork also. RIP
@@Bluesbabesrv Thanks for the correction. I didn't mean to overlook Peter's having passed. RIP, sir...
When are you coming to The Fox in Riverside CA? Was so looking forward to seeing you. Please reschedule!
I LOVE THE MONKEES🤩
Mike figured out (too late) to be cool.
Mickey has an incredible memory and remembered me 25 years after I worked with him. Astounding!
RIP Mike
Exactly! More please. More!
Sounds amazing!
