Your Picot stitch is beautiful and an absolute wonderful choice for the flower. I was fortunate enough to tune in this morning early while having coffee and picking up one project which is the crazy quilt block for the K3n SAL. This summer piece is coming along great I love the lavender you stitched. We have a local Needlework shop here in my area caters more for cross stitch fairly well stocked in floss but they don't carry silk threads or ribbon or wool threads. There used to be a Sit and Stitch on Sunday afternoons I attended a few even though I don't cross stitch and was very welcome. I plan to stop in the shop this weekend for a floss color I need and check if they have a sit and stitch still. Oh my buyer beware of shops without pricing on things it's a given it will be expensive. I recently visited a thrift shop nearby, and nothing was priced and the store was in need of cleaning. I picked up a wooden spool and asked if they would take five dollars, she replied fifty and I laughed in her face and said You need to change the store from thrift to antiques with those prices, and maybe price your items because I found 5 things I would have purchased if the price was on it. I put down the spool and wished her a nice day. Then went to my care for a wet wipe to clean my hands. The next store I went to had quite a few spools all under five dollars I only needed one so all in all a good day. Just thought I would share my story with you.
Thanks for sharing your story about the not so thrifty thrift shop! 😳 Yes - if a shop has no prices anywhere I’m more wary that it’ll be $$$. Too bad too because shops in that retail space typically don’t do well.

You taught me another new stitch in this video. I'm not sure I would want to do it in all those petal though. LOL It does seem to faster once you get into your groove though. It turned out beautiful. Your weather sounds like what we will be getting in Ohio. We went from winter to summer in a flash. I was wearing a sweatshirt last week! We are old! We eat around 4 but sometimes later depending what we had for lunch. We've always eaten early. My husband used to get home from work around 4 and we would eat when he got home, so it's just stuck. I love the project so far. It's such a colorful difference from what you started with.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. This stitch is easy, a little fiddly, but such a great outcome. We’ve eaten early most of our lives too. I have to start training hubby when we get closer to autumn to remember we aren’t going to eat at 4:00 or he would be snacking all night!
Thanks so much Linda. Oh I would send the heat your way! Though you’ve had heat waves before and don’t have air con so be careful what you wish for! 😝🤣
@@marthamanigross I’m doing well. I’m in Williamsburg right now. I’ll be here until next Sunday. Would love to meet up. I know it’s short notice so I understand if it’s not convenient for you. Hugs ❤️🙂
Good on you for persevering Martha and I remember this stitch from my dictionary of stitches - thanks for the prompt to remind me to use it. Cheers, Christine
I remember it from your dictionary of stitches too! It has taken me awhile to use it and the first time was in the blue lagoon texture piece, and I loved it there. It’s different when using it on a smaller piece! Thanks Christine.

Beautiful stitching, wow!🎉❤
Thank you 😊
Love your woven picot flower Martha. Great job! If you can please send any surplus sun/heat over to the UK we'd be extremely grateful 😂
Thanks so much Linda.

@@CraftyLinnieP oh gosh. Enjoy your visit. This heat would make it very hard for me to be out. Hopefully in the future! 🤗

Dinner for me is 4 to 5:30. My sewing group is all day, 10 to 5. Everyone brings lunch.
That’s a LONG stitch group! Lucky you. Bringing lunch is smart. Dinner time is just weird to bring something.
Dinner would be hard during a group thing. I only stay at my group until 3. @@marthamanigross
I'm sincerely impressed-kudos to you!
Thank you.
