Walhart: You forget your place, BOY. I am the Conqueror! I will unite the world! Chrom: No! I will… And not by forcing all the people to choose the sword or the knee. ^ The above exchange provides the title line of the chapter, which is indeed called "The Sword or the Knee".
Alm and Celica both were likely pissed at Walhart. On the other hand, I want to believe that Virion was another one of Alm and Celica’s predecessors because: A. He wields a bow as well as a sword if he becomes a bow knight. Alm was also proficient in bow and sword combat. B. He has green hair like Alm, which in Fire Emblem games, hair color has a strong connection to lineage. C. Not only is his homeland Valm, but he is also nobility. So yes, I bet Alm and Celica were hoping for Virion to kill Walhart. It may not be canon that he’s related to Alm (yet), but it sure as heck would be a great thought that the predecessor of the Hero of Valentia fought alongside the predecessor of the Hero King Marth to kill Grima.
@@bassmandan9484 Considering thousands of years have passed since Alm and Celica the chance of any Valmese being related to them is quite high, especially if you are nobility.
@@hoshueyeplopper4465 Agreed. Heck, enough time had passed between the games for technology to be WAY more advanced than it was in Awakening. It would be like someone today claiming to be related to Caesar Augustus.
Walhart, he seems like a in a world of conquest, like how in Fates King Garon he was in a conquest as well, conquering Hoshido is Garon's main goal, like how Walhart is trying to unite Yiilse under Valmese Empire rule.
Walhart is basically male equivalent to Edelgard, since they both wear red, have white hair, like using axes as weapons, and want to conquer the world, because they feel like they want to free the world from a certain religion (Walhart wanted to conquer the Ylissean continent so he could destroy the Grimleal and prevent them from resurrecting Grima the Fell Dragon (Chrom also wanted to prevent Grima from being resurrected, but his ideology isn't as extreme as Walhart's), Edelgard was disillusioned by Church of Seiros and felt they were too corrupt).
I mean Edelgard is actually the female equivalent to Walhart since he came first. Also do people not realize this type of character is their own archetype? Red Emperor? A character who wishes to conquer the world no matter the cost in order to create a truly free society, typically in FE fashion it's about religion and gods. Arvis and Rudolf also fall under this classification. They pretty much all have similar ideology. Usually they're percieved on two extremes. By those who understand their cause but view them as misguided or extreme, and those who believe their actions now can be justified with the future they're creating. They're kind of an amazing character archetype.

That last voice clip with that phrase was absolutely perfect.
"Emm, I tried..." :'(
Do you think Alm was watching over Walhart and was like "nigga, I was trying to PREVENT other countries from being taken over"
