Replace the tank switch valve with a relay. Can buy them with a mount and pigtail at most auto parts stores. 2nd laziest way to get it done, but more reliable. Just make sure whatever tank you use the most is in the relay's non powered position. Easy greazy.

I keep a airless paint sprayer setup on hydraulic oil in the garage and once a month starting in november I spray the chasis on my vechicles. When that shit is atomized at 2000 psi it coats the fuck out of everything. Really helps keep the rust down on my rigs.
Should work just keep the selector switch on the dash or the pumps in the tank will fuck right off and not run. Also if it has it it may have a third pump on the frame rail somewhere so be warned that will end the project right there without high pressure in the tanks. Fords are weird animals around that era.
@@jr540123 Look hate to break it to you but the Ford is an 1984, she is a tad bit older than what your use to. She only has one fuel pump and that is connected straight to the engine and the highest the fuel pressure ever gets is 5 PSI. Carburetion not fuel injection.

I had a super chip. Keep it with the truck if you program one 7.3 and then try to do another without resetting the initial one it locked the programmer up on me and the truck had gotten sold so now my programmer is just an odb scanner for my truck

You can eliminate the factory valve for the fuel gauge with 2 standard 5 pin bosch style relays. It is actually very easy to do.
