God DAMN I love the visceral hatred he has for this game. It just seeps out of his pores, the way he manages to shoehorn in excuses to shit on it, even renaming the Tiers. How relatable!
While I do agree with the Azumarill/Medicham placements the early availability of the bands does make it really easy to slap them on so you passively gain more EVs in the stats that matter. Do you need to do this? no, but you can and it's not a hassle like breeding for nature/IVs.
I maybe a huge Clodsire fan, but his typing, defenses, plus water absorb is an absolute house. He walls so many things if you get unlucky during a normal playthrough
@ImportedCheese I 100% agree, just that meowscarada is actually fucken cracked and you still said nope the singing quadruped and whatever the fuck that duck is are better. This is the first gen where I played all 3 starters back to back, and the only where I think grass was the best since gen 1 bar none
3 segment dudunsparce doesnt actually increase low kick damage. low kick BP is 60 against mons within 55.1 - 110.0 lbs. 2 seg is about 85 and 3 seg is 105.
I'm glad Cheese could appreciate the joke with Dunsparce's evolution. I've seen so many salty comments from people who complain about wanting a REAL evolution for Dunsparce. Guys that's the joke. Dunsparce is supposed to be super rare, but super lame. Even the evolution is just Dunsparce getting bigger. It's perfect. One of the few good things to come out of Gen 9
-Be Imported Cheese -Put Clodsire and Dudunsparce in lowest tier -Get jumped by all the Clodsire and Dudunsparce stans -Cannot protect himself because Hyper Drill goes through Protect
@@ImportedCheese 100 base attack is bad? That's on par with Zygarde (complete), Giratina, Garganacl, every mythical pixie. It has 5 points over Qwilfish!
Intimidate is an actively bad ability for in-game. It forces the slow stat drop animation and text box every time you send it out, and the attack drop is useless because why are you getting hit? Same goes for any ability that pops up a text box (Frisk, Foreworn, etc), it adds up so much over the course of a playthrough
My Team of 4 Grass Types are up there in terms of this Tier List. When push comes to shove, they'll sweep anything! Never underestimate Dual Types ladies and gentlemen.
I’m making a fangame, and even though Breloom is only available after the 6th gym, I have to make the wild encounters Shroomish just so you can still get Spore on it
Funfact the Tuchinoko is actually a cryptid that can talk and has a crippling alcohol addiction. That’s it’s super power, it’s just a alcoholic man in a fat snake body
Grass is basically water, but your only advantage is that your good against water. Oh, and also adding like 4 or 5 extra resistances to your attack. The only reason you'd use it is if you don't have Water moves, or Basically Water attacks that have a niche to be effective against...water. Thanks Game freak!
Imo Ghastly should be area 2. It doesn’t get any good moves until either mid-late game tms or higher level up moves. Have fun using 65bp hex, not koing the opponent, and having the opponent KO you.
@@dinoman6481 in theory yes. In practice nope it didn’t ko most of the time. And it isn’t exactly early game. I’d say by level 25 you are in the early-mid mid game.
I love your content and the editing for the length is amazing! But I'd say personally Fuecoco maybe overrated still better than sprigatito but worse than Quxly. Fuecoco from my playthrough ran into again and again Pokemon with flash fire immunities. There are surprisingly a lot of Houndooms, Flareons, and Dashbuns especially in the "important" battles later in the game. Which normally would not be a problem but needing to use choice scarf to gain the speed advantage(I used it since even with High speed Ev's and a speed boosting nature I would be 10+ level's above pokemon and still being outsped) . While not from use but just looking at stat's Quaxly already has the stats to do what you would want it to do and only gets perfect from even 1 speed boost from aqua step. Also I would like to point out that as your main attack move torchsong's 80 power leaves something to be desired. Like even over leveled with your good special attack I would commonly need to hit pokemon that had a resistance to it 2 to 3 times to rack up my special attack boosts because of how weak the base power is. Compared to Quaxly which with 120 attack and amazing attacking set of like acrobatics/Close combat/wave crash/aqua step would just KO the opposing pokemon with a neutral hit and already be on the next. Also small thing I'm surprised Basculin is in sea with 92 attack and 98 speed. A mono but good type and a good abilliy is it because of aviability heavily weighed against it?
Having just finished the Only A run a few minutes ago, I still think Fuecoco is the best lol the scarf isn't 100% necessary, as long as you can torch at least once your other moves get so much stronger that you should be able to win
I tried to use Basculin in B2W2 (lower power level) and I can confirm it's textbook sea tier. It can't switch in because of its low defenses and struggles to OHKO neutral targets. It's filler at best
Cool, now I can do a full run where I'm only allowed to use Paldea's finest Pokemons! ... Which I totally would have if I had any intention of ever playing this game.
Gyarados is like Gallade tier imo. Waterfall at 21 is nuts. Also, Buizel is area 1, just like feesh. You trade some stats for earlier Liquidation and Wave crash for the final boss
On my first playthrough I stumbled on and caught a tera-ground Magikarp in a raid. I went to inlet grotto and got the Dragon Dance TM. I later beat all the desert trainers for the Earthquake TM. The rest of the game was beyond a joke.
25:10 "It's the Magician Pokémon, but it's a physical attacker?" exactly: it's a physical attacker because it's a magician, not a wizard or sorceror or something. Its "magic" is all tricks and sleight of hand.
I feel like Persian got a bit shafted here, certainly it doesn't matter much if you're just trying to beat the game as fast as possible but that speed tier and with stab technician false swipe and fake out, Hypnosis, Taunt, Thunder Wave and a bunch of other options I'd say it's peerless as a tool for catching pokemon
Azumarill is absurdly broken and damn near solos the game, it’s stupid strong and gets high power moves in the 20s. The one I caught route 1 was in the front of my party the whole time and did everything with me.
Masquerain is good in competitive singles because if you want Sticky Web, it's that or Spidops. So do you want spikes or stun spore as your other move? I mean you're a sash lead, so you're doing one or two things and dying.
@@ImportedCheese I work overnights, just finished the video. Corrosion doesn't just work on steel type. You always poison, even if they're poison type, steel type, or in a semi invulnerable state. So fly, dig, dive, or phantom force. It still makes sense on a fire type. Woo, two comments of engagement! Such metrics!
One thing that should be considered is that you can catch a high level pokemon and then breed it so you can get almost any Pokémon you want with perfect obedience after the intro
@@ImportedCheese That would be a problem if this was the old exp system or if it was the late or mid game but in the early game a level 1 pokemon can easily catch up that's how I was able to use my good old Deino before the first gym
Fun fact: If you use the battle warp exploit, you can get to nearly all of the Pokémon before you even fight the first Nemona Tera Battle. Oh, and if you’re worried about loyalty, just get a ditto and breed them. In short, nearly every Pokémon can be used to do all the stories.
Loved the list! Only small thing I disagree that pure normal is terrible, idk y that's such a trend, neutral damage is still really good and stab isn't everything. But to each thier own
Hey Cheese ! Too bad to hear you don't like SV, I had a lot of fun. It's terribly buggy but still a really good game imo For the placements, I'll only talk about Pokémon I used in game, in the same conditions as your tier list. Houndour/Houndoom : not sure this goes to Area 1. Most of the game, his stab is Incenerate (bp60) before you get the Dark Pulse TM. It's fast but misses a lot of OHKO. Its base def, at 50, is low enough that it ended most major fights fainted in my playthrough. Still pretty good but a major victim of the powercreep over generations Jumpluff : Deserves a bump to area 3. It's OK. Very early stabs bullet seed and acrobatics ensure 2hkos on super effective targets despite his terrible base atk, which is all you need from a support/defensive mon. Fast sleep powder makes it an excellent capture bot before you can buy quick balls (which is 2/3 into the game). Gets uturn for free switches. I honestly used this as much as my starter, though for different purposes Quaquaval : op, easy Area 1. Always has good stabs, strong and fast enough to sweep. Great starter Nacli line : area 1 for titan cheese, very mediocre otherwise Garchomp : you can capture a gabite lv 40ish right before the 7th gym and evolve it with candies immediately. Has a bad learnset, so it will miss some ohkos before getting Outrage/EQ TMs but still good when you get it. Area 2 Will comment about other pokémon I used in segment 2. Thanks for the great content :)

Arigato HAMMMERRR is probably my favorite thing about this video. What a great Tinkaton, protecting the chat from the evil bots.
Very effective despite low attack!!
God DAMN I love the visceral hatred he has for this game. It just seeps out of his pores, the way he manages to shoehorn in excuses to shit on it, even renaming the Tiers. How relatable!
How inconvenient
Maybe the DLC will be good
The fact a Gallade with Night Slash, Psycho Cut, Leaf Blade and Sacred Sword can solo all of Geeta's team makes me happy.
Sharpness good?!
@@ImportedCheese Sharpness good!!
I can't believe Gamefreak powercrept Kricketune with Spidops
Kriketune is still the maestro of memes
Gotta say, I love your editing style.
Thank you! Let's editing!
While I do agree with the Azumarill/Medicham placements the early availability of the bands does make it really easy to slap them on so you passively gain more EVs in the stats that matter. Do you need to do this? no, but you can and it's not a hassle like breeding for nature/IVs.
This applies to everyone but Azumarill/Medicham are just where the bands were mentioned.
True!!!!!!!
...50 base speed tho
The Yungoos joke was great
PALDEA FIRST!
The way you said "Regional bird!" Gets me every time.
Sick of these regional birds
Picking Skeledirge?
In the wise words of Oingo Boingo, "It's a dead man's party, who could ask for more?"
Best signature move!!
I maybe a huge Clodsire fan, but his typing, defenses, plus water absorb is an absolute house. He walls so many things if you get unlucky during a normal playthrough
Horrific stats and walling is useless
Your pure hatred of grass types leading you to putting meowscarada at the bottom is truly next level
It's a terrible type
@ImportedCheese I 100% agree, just that meowscarada is actually fucken cracked and you still said nope the singing quadruped and whatever the fuck that duck is are better. This is the first gen where I played all 3 starters back to back, and the only where I think grass was the best since gen 1 bar none
3 segment dudunsparce doesnt actually increase low kick damage. low kick BP is 60 against mons within 55.1 - 110.0 lbs. 2 seg is about 85 and 3 seg is 105.
truly unstoppable
the first impression pun had me dying and i don't know why 💀💀
!
-Be Imported Cheese
-Put Clodsire and Dudunsparce in lowest tier
-Get jumped by all the Clodsire and Dudunsparce stans
-Cannot protect himself because Hyper Drill goes through Protect
bad base attack
@@ImportedCheese 100 base attack is bad? That's on par with Zygarde (complete), Giratina, Garganacl, every mythical pixie. It has 5 points over Qwilfish!
Intimidate is an actively bad ability for in-game. It forces the slow stat drop animation and text box every time you send it out, and the attack drop is useless because why are you getting hit?
Same goes for any ability that pops up a text box (Frisk, Foreworn, etc), it adds up so much over the course of a playthrough
butbutbut.....................what about VGC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i need the second segement of the tier list so i can build a team with only the worst of paldea so i can pretend this game is remotely hard

See most people don't know this but Spidops being a terrible Pokémon is actually a reference to how bad the BUGS (and glitches) are in this game :0
Wow, GameFreak didn't have to include that detail!!!
Funfact the Tuchinoko is actually a cryptid that can talk and has a crippling alcohol addiction. That’s it’s super power, it’s just a alcoholic man in a fat snake body
life is pain
oh my god no wonder it's on Larry's team
I hope Qwilfish is in the first part. That would make watching the ranking more convenient
It's in part 2
@@ImportedCheese Qwilfish part 2? So we have to both watch part 1 AND part 2? How convenient for the youtuber and more content for the students
Grass is basically water, but your only advantage is that your good against water.
Oh, and also adding like 4 or 5 extra resistances to your attack. The only reason you'd use it is if you don't have Water moves, or Basically Water attacks that have a niche to be effective against...water.
Thanks Game freak!
buff grass pls
you also resist electric instead of being weak to it
Lmao this was amazing as always Cheese.
Let's! Premium!
Hey good job editing 8 hours down to 2. I know that takes an absolute ungodly amount of time to deal with. Great channel
Thank you! See you in the 2nd segment!
@@ImportedCheese as always sir cheese
Imo Ghastly should be area 2. It doesn’t get any good moves until either mid-late game tms or higher level up moves. Have fun using 65bp hex, not koing the opponent, and having the opponent KO you.
what about psybeam!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@ImportedCheese non stab 65 bp sounds reallly good
65bp hex is good enough for early game, especially considering that it is STAB coming from 100 SpA, which is insane for early game.
Having just finished the Only A run a few minutes ago, I still think Fuecoco is the best lol
the scarf isn't 100% necessary, as long as you can torch at least once your other moves get so much stronger that you should be able to win
I tried to use Basculin in B2W2 (lower power level) and I can confirm it's textbook sea tier. It can't switch in because of its low defenses and struggles to OHKO neutral targets. It's filler at best
Always remember: Stuffing your pokemons face with sandwiches allows you to bypass the badge check
also there are some static tera types like a water tera garchomp thats level 65 or a jigglypuff at the rock area with rock tera iirc
Super late, sadly
S tier commentary every video, Youngoos segment was the highlight to me lol
PALDEA FIRST
44:34 You can also walk into a wild mon with Pawmo following you and get the win in that battle for a level and it'll work.
Pawmo keeps winning

This weekend, hopefully
@@ImportedCheese I’m happy waiting as long as I need ❤️
If only everything had specialized starter moves. Oh man

As someone who learned the hard way I promise you it takes more than 5 minutes to evolve Rellor into Rabsca
Just gotta run in circles!!!
Maybe I'm missing something, but did you ever make that dedicated review video of S/V? 17:49
You haven't missed anything...maybe someday
Rise of the Planet of the Infernapes
Cool, now I can do a full run where I'm only allowed to use Paldea's finest Pokemons!
... Which I totally would have if I had any intention of ever playing this game.
Pls don't buy this
Gyarados is like Gallade tier imo. Waterfall at 21 is nuts. Also, Buizel is area 1, just like feesh. You trade some stats for earlier Liquidation and Wave crash for the final boss
Sharpness is good though...+50% damage!!
On my first playthrough I stumbled on and caught a tera-ground Magikarp in a raid. I went to inlet grotto and got the Dragon Dance TM. I later beat all the desert trainers for the Earthquake TM. The rest of the game was beyond a joke.
Gyarados level-up movepool with early waterfall
I'm loving the trailer :) Creative! And the gloves!
Such value out of these 100円 gloves! Two intros!
I've been going back and forth on whether I want to buy this game. The preamble was VERY informative. 11/10
Definitely do not buy it
glad to hear the dudunsparce love, i think it's a perfect design too
good theming
Still remember the moment I learned what the move Torch Song did when Nemona used it against me lol
It's a better fiery dance....wtf
Oh my god, this thing's HORRIBLE !
(Not the intro tho. The intro is fire )
25:10 "It's the Magician Pokémon, but it's a physical attacker?"
exactly: it's a physical attacker because it's a magician, not a wizard or sorceror or something. Its "magic" is all tricks and sleight of hand.
Disgusting dishonest grass types
Look mom, there I am getting betrayed with the macho brace

2:26:50 hey it's not That bad, you can get eevees to spawn right outside Cortondo at like, level 10.
Also Sinistea chips are easy to get if you use your pal flamigo since scrappy does not care about the ghost type
I think you can also find them outside the town with the evo item guy
Gulpin is great at one thing though: being derpy and cute
Worthless!! Gulpin deez nuts!!
I think Gallade or Breloom work better for catching
I enjoy listening to you talk 😊
Thank you for watching!
Azumarill is absurdly broken and damn near solos the game, it’s stupid strong and gets high power moves in the 20s. The one I caught route 1 was in the front of my party the whole time and did everything with me.
50 base speed
Probably kept the DP/legends/SWSH mons so they could just re-use all the assets
Very possible
Masquerain is good in competitive singles because if you want Sticky Web, it's that or Spidops. So do you want spikes or stun spore as your other move? I mean you're a sash lead, so you're doing one or two things and dying.
Masquerain buffs paying off!!!!!!!!!
One thing that should be considered is that you can catch a high level pokemon and then breed it so you can get almost any Pokémon you want with perfect obedience after the intro
but then it's level 1...
@@ImportedCheese That would be a problem if this was the old exp system or if it was the late or mid game but in the early game a level 1 pokemon can easily catch up that's how I was able to use my good old Deino before the first gym
Raichu with nasty plot and surf is decent
"Decent" is being far too generous!!
That's so much work to get lv 1 pokemon tho
Loved the list! Only small thing I disagree that pure normal is terrible, idk y that's such a trend, neutral damage is still really good and stab isn't everything. But to each thier own
Normal was great neutral stab!!!

Sudowoodo's German name is really funny: Mogelbaum! Which I'd roughly translate to "Cheatsytree". x)

Oh hey, it's me
Hey Cheese ! Too bad to hear you don't like SV, I had a lot of fun. It's terribly buggy but still a really good game imo
For the placements, I'll only talk about Pokémon I used in game, in the same conditions as your tier list.
Still pretty good but a major victim of the powercreep over generations
Jumpluff : Deserves a bump to area 3. I honestly used this as much as my starter, though for different purposes
Quaquaval : op, easy Area 1. Always has good stabs, strong and fast enough to sweep. Great starter
Nacli line : area 1 for titan cheese, very mediocre otherwise
Garchomp : you can capture a gabite lv 40ish right before the 7th gym and evolve it with candies immediately. Has a bad learnset, so it will miss some ohkos before getting Outrage/EQ TMs but still good when you get it. Area 2
Will comment about other pokémon I used in segment 2. Thanks for the great content :)
I will never bend to the hoppip lobby
An open world game without level scaling is fine.
But not for an open world _Pokemon_ game's gym leaders!
The wild pokemon don't have to scale, I guess
