The Streamer is one of my fave basses. I have yet to find one that doesn't look or play unbelievably well, even the Asian made ones. And points for playing "The Crunge"! Cheers!
Many thanks for your (quick) reply! Yes, that is what me and the local bass technician were saying the other day... that manufacturers wouldn't make most of their basses run on 9V if they weren't satisfied enough with 9V. The 18V modification is an option for those that really need it. So, the Warwick Streamer Stage I 4-string is my next purchase! :)
Anyone thinking of buying a Warwick bass - if you have the money, do it!! I bought my first in 2009 (Corvette $$ 4 string) its amazing build, top materials, unique features, like adjustable nut, 2 piece bridge, and subsequent ease of playing i truly believe helped me to attempt and conquer bass passages that weren't happening on my other bass. I now have a 5 string $$ and just wish i'd of done it a long time ago. I recorded in the studio with the 4 string $$ this year 2016 and it has to be the most satisfying bass sound ive been able to get in a studio. I write this not because im a corporate slut but i believe in passing credible info to the next person, and hope to get credible info from my computer from like minded folk.
They are two completely different models. We have two product demos online for two Corvette models. You're welcome to check them out! Thanks for watching!
Hey Andy, as is typical with most 5 string bass demos, using the B string as a thumb rest is hardly a 5 string demo when the B string on most 5 string basses can be very week so a good demo using the B will tell us a lot more about the bass as we've probably heard a regular 4 loads. Had several Stage 1 4 strings over the year but would find it very informative to hear the B on the Stage 1 5. Stage 2 5 string I like especially the narrower string spacing compared to the wider Stage 1 5 string but a bit too bright..
Well, we don't think it's a necessity, otherwise we would not design our instruments to run on 9V. The additional headroom you want to get out of the modification is your personal taste. As you say, the majority of manufacturers' basses run on 9V circuits. It works fine, the preamp delivers a good signal to the amp and in my personal opinion, this is as much a matter of taste as is the question of playing with/without a pick or which type of strings you use. If your playing needs it, get it.
What kind of finish is this? At first I thought it was nirvana black, but the natural color of the wood seems to be shining through more than with nirvana black... It's absolutely gorgeous!
Hi, Warwick! Thanks for these demo videos and for the quality products you make! I'm thinking about buying a Streamer Stage I 4-string (not like this 5-string in the video) and I assume the pickups are connected to one 9V battery? In that case, is it possible, for those who want, to connect it to two 9V batteries for a total of 18V? As you surely know, this modification is done to achieve more headroom. Hope to hear from you! Thanks and keep it up!
Hi Andy. Thanks again for this great review. This time the SS1 sounds punchier and warmer than your usual sound with SS1. Is it different settings or the new wenge neck makes the difference?
Just a tip, since I know you guys regularly read the comments section. You should update the site for more mobile functionality. I wanted to see the price list of the different basses, but it downloads as a PDF, which isn't viewable through my android device. Just a tip. Love the Warwick bass sound and was thinking of getting a new Warwick bass.
Hubert G-Blouin Agreed on the work of the site and the great basses. I love my streamer Jazzman and will surely be getting a streamer stage 2 lefty at some point in the future. Only thing holding warwick back is the out of date website. You guys are great for answering people back and are the only guys who put out videos showcasing your instruments. So are way ahead of the game in most ways, just an up to date website is all Warwick needs, in my opinion. Its also a bit strange that for a German company, that its surprisingly hard to find your German basses on thomann, thought I got a lovely 6 string corvette bubinga, I would have liked to glance the German made ones too. :)
Dear all, thanks a lot for your comments! At the moment we are working on our website and on a mobile version. Comming soon! Stay tuned! Cordially, Anne
Even though they are built by Warwick, each line has it's own name (RockBass, Pro Series, Artist Series etc) so we're able to tell the difference between - for example - a Warwick Corvette, a Pro Series Corvette or a RockBass Corvette. It would be redundand if we called them "Warwick Pro Series Corvette" or "Warwick RockBass Corvette".
Thank you for the answer! May I ask what you personally think of it? I assume that Warwick produces only 9V battery circuit bass guitars so this (the 18V modification) is not seen as an absolute necessity. Also, it seems almost all other bass guitar manufacturers also make all their basses with the 9V circuit.
Perhaps a hearing test is in order? It seems that I hear the low B in there. Most players do not hang on the B string constantly. I think Andy is using it about like most people use it. If you overuse the B, it sounds pretty shitty FOH.
That quick access cover needs to be revised. Mine is SERIOUSLY a bastard to get open. I'd much rather have had screws. Got into the habit of checking batteries a day before a gig, but it's still way more difficult than it should be, especially from something intended to make life easier.
I tune my basses to B flat and quite often let the B flat ring out. How does the B string perform on the Warricks since the guy playing is not using it. I cover the bottom or yield to the Hammond's foot pedal and left hand on Sundays?😕🤔💒😇🎻Thanks
they should always include $$$ in the demo cause if its to much where not going to buy so if they think this is suppose to get a bite yes it will but if its not worth it to us then its a no go lol
most warwicks are 26" only the streamer CV is 9.5"! is a little flat to my taste but i have to say that they are reallly confortable while playing for hours!
nowhere, warwick will tell you to contact their custom shop, ive been waiting for word back on a lefty infinity for 7 months now and i dont expect anyone to get back to me anytime soon. Quite ridiculous
Dear Iggy Tubmen , I'm sorry to hear that! Can I ask you which E-Mail you've contacted? If you want, just send one to me: m.lorenz@warwick.de and I will take care of it. Once again I'm sorry that this happened! best regards, Michael.

This bass playing is legit legendary, resided so well with me man! Great job
this is probably the mot beautiful bass i've ever seen in my life.
I would love to see a video where you compare same type off bass but made from different wood :)
SO Beautiful!
Andy Irvine what a legend! Fantastic player
I love Warwick...I miss my Warwick bass so much! :(
The Streamer is one of my fave basses. I have yet to find one that doesn't look or play unbelievably well, even the Asian made ones. And points for playing "The Crunge"! Cheers!

Stunning Bass
Gorgeous bass
Love the tone
No, the listed features only include all Warwick Basses (made in Germany) and not the PsoSeries or RockBass line instruments. Thanks for watching!
Hi there! Yes, you can order this as a custom shop option, no problem. Thanks for watching!
That opening groove was super dope

Dam, I want this bass so badly.
He played one of my favorite Zeppelin songs(The Crunge) which is very reminiscent of James Brown; the tone of this bass is great.
They are two completely different models. We have two product demos online for two Corvette models. You're welcome to check them out! Thanks for watching!
Damn this is the only bass revieuw you did where it doesn't sound messed up.. and all hi-fi
Hey Andy, as is typical with most 5 string bass demos, using the B string as a thumb rest is hardly a 5 string demo when the B string on most 5 string basses can be very week so a good demo using the B will tell us a lot more about the bass as we've probably heard a regular 4 loads. Props on playing Led Zep for the demo!
Andy's always smiling. Top, and playing JPJ. Top azz

Great you just cost me some doe Andy, bought a Wick SS1 just now. Fuuuu!
I want to have - Warwick Streamer Stage
What kind of finish is this? At first I thought it was nirvana black, but the natural color of the wood seems to be shining through more than with nirvana black... It's absolutely gorgeous!

me encaanta!!!!
3:53 Melhor timbre.
Andy plays nice.

Dear Ianthebassist, thank you for your hint! We are working on our website and improve it. Work in progress! Cordially, Anne
Framus & Warwick
I have to agree with mister Ianthebassist. Your website needs work as much as your basses kick asses! (And that means alot!)
Hubert G-Blouin

what is that finish? colored oil, presumable, but what is the color called?

You should hire a bass player that uses that low B string for playing instead of a finger-rest.
although its a nice finger rest that deep bass tone is so nice
Perhaps a hearing test is in order? It seems that I hear the low B in there. Most players do not hang on the B string constantly. I think Andy is using it about like most people use it. If you overuse the B, it sounds pretty shitty FOH.
He definitely used it in the slap riff between 1:09 and 1:29 a couple times
That quick access cover needs to be revised. Mine is SERIOUSLY a bastard to get open. I'd much rather have had screws. Got into the habit of checking batteries a day before a gig, but it's still way more difficult than it should be, especially from something intended to make life easier.
Are the bridges from the warwick shop also solid brass yet?
Warwick could make solid block of plastic with dental floss strings and a headset mic and it’d still sound better than half the basses out there.
I would like to know if the streamer stage 1 has in the back circuit compartment a knob volume like the old streamers . Thanks
Is this gorgeous Streamer I 5-string available with a standard neck width option?
Hi warwick! What is the string spacing @ the bridge and on the nut for this one. Thanks!
THE CRUNGE!
is there any custom shop near singapore?
oh look! a Spector Bass :D
Бас очень шикарный ..а сколько стоит такой.5ти струнка
What's the song at 1:31???
The Crunge, nice Zeppelin's song
What's the difference between this one and the corvette ?
I tune my basses to B flat and quite often let the B flat ring out. How does the B string perform on the Warricks since the guy playing is not using it. I cover the bottom or yield to the Hammond's foot pedal and left hand on Sundays?😕🤔💒😇🎻Thanks
George White Bb is A;)
Is this a broadneck? It looks narrower than the usual Stage 1.
whats the retail on this?
I'm looking for a Streamer within the same price range as an American Standard Fender Jazz. Can anyone give me some suggestions?
is the pro series and rockbass not considered a warwick?
Indeed, because most people forget to include the acute accent: wengé
they should always include $$$ in the demo cause if its to much where not going to buy so if they think this is suppose to get a bite yes it will but if its not worth it to us then its a no go lol
www.warwickbass.com/warwick/data/Warwick.de/Downloads/Preislisten/US-Lists/US_2016_KMC/Current_KMC_USA%20Masterbuilt%20Pricing.pdf
What's the point of a 5-string review if you rarely show the low B?
Right, no point...
It makes a great thumb rest.
Hey, Andy! What's happening?
yeah Led Zeppelin.
Can someone tell what is the fretboard radius on these basses?
most warwicks are 26" only the streamer CV is 9.5"! is a little flat to my taste but i have to say that they are reallly confortable while playing for hours!
Thanks!!!
Yeah, Andy is just a big guy.
seems like the video isn't finished
where can I buy the left handed one?
nowhere, warwick will tell you to contact their custom shop, ive been waiting for word back on a lefty infinity for 7 months now and i dont expect anyone to get back to me anytime soon.
Show the low B
!!
what's the name of that Led Zep song 3:33 ?
+IndigenousOne : It is called "the Bridge" and is found on the LP "Houses of the Holy" a grat Album, by the way...
you're the man.
thanks bro :)
It says that it's called "The Crunge"
Awesome bass, great playing, but I'm sure it would sound a lot better if you tuned it properly ;)
I want to know what is the cost of this bass.
Hi there, you can find most of our Streamer Stage II models here: shop.warwick.de/en/instruments/electric-basses/warwick-masterbuilt/streamer/streamer-stage-ii ;)
Either he's only a little fella or that bass is fucking huge.
He's a fairly big dude! It's a good size instrument
Yggdrasil Smog I'm 6'4 and weigh 250lbs and that bass is a pretty big chunk of lumber even for me.
its in tune amateurs.
Problems?
Whats the price of this bass?
Please have alook on our Website. You will find specs, pics, vids and prices there. Enjoy! warwick.nosgroup.de/erp-system/warwick/tmp/siteexport__warwick_neu_de/de/Warwick--Produkte--Instrumente--Made-in-Germany--Warwick-Series--Streamer--Streamer-Stage-I--5-Saiten--Bilder.html
Thanks alot bro :D
Warwicks Just a Nut just adds more confusion to the set up process. Nothing wrong with a good setup with a normal nut if cut properly.
Wen gee.
The G string is low xddd
What is so special about the nut? Alembic had those for decades...
***** Yes, and they used to be plastic!
Tor Sverre Engen So what if Alembic had them before? My basses still don't have one, and I think they're pretty rad. :P
I thought it was pronounced Wen-gay?
wenge is pronounced "when-gay"
china base.... forget it. If i will connect a base for 120$ to this gear it will sound like that one...
lol
"wen-gay" not "wen-gy"
I have a 6 string stage 1, will NEVER part with it!
i think thats kinda bad
