Hey, I actually made it to a Claus Kellerman episode within 30 minutes of posting... and yet again the power outlet hair style is impeccable as always!
Very interesting information on the bushes. The problem I find on maps is getting proxy spotted by the enemy lights, because both teams lights head to the same area to spot. Good vantage points are getting more scarce because light tanks are queuing up to occupy the key spotting positions, the enemy know where lights go and so they blind shoot, you get crowded out, usually by allied TDs which makes spotting hopeless, particularly if the TD fires and is lit up! This means lights have to move away completely, or occupy a poorer position in an attempt to spot. The rewards are often sparse for light tank players and this can be due to allied tanks, particularly TD's, moving up too far and not taking in what is shown on the minimap.
That being said, prokhorovka is still the map on which light tanks have the highest influence on the outcome of the battle and can single-handedly win the battle most of the time.
Great video, Claus! I learned some good stuff that I didn't particularly get about the bushes until watching this. My skill level in WoT is what you would call a muppet, so every lit bit helps!
Two good games this morning Claus. That second game and seeing an EBR make a 90* turn while doing 80 kph and never slide or lose traction is BS. So is going in reverse that fast and maneuvering (Transmission do not work like that) and is the driver doing all that while looking in mirrors? 🤣BS. How do you zigzag on dirt, sand, mud, snow and ice doing 80 kph and NEVER lose traction? Anyhow enough of my rant, but sure I am not the only one who feels this way. Thank you Kellerman for the schooling this morning, Rock on sir 🤘😎
Not to mention the squealing tire sound effects. Tires squeal on mud and grass, right? The whole wheeled vehicle software looks and sounds like it was taken from a 1990s game console. All that’s missing are magic powerups rising up from the ground.
I enjoyed this video earlier this morning, with my coffee as always...every fricken' day... Always a pleasure, just to simply listen to someone my age (kinda sort of close...54). Always excellent gameplay (with freaky RNG shit...Yesterday, with the arty guy auto-aiming, and hitting someone across the map, "Arty auto-snap shots are enabled"). Who the hell, can hit an EBR, at max speed...right through a Train? Nice shot!!! I may try a Light Tank line some day. A person can hide, spot, not even shoot...and still get a very high score. Great video today!!!
Usually I watch your channel for having a good laugh on your commentary but this time it was really a very useful video which made me understand why I always suck in light tanks.😅
Claus thanks for this video, I never knew about the bushes stacking and concealment , Now i understand how it works. Your content is awesome, Great channel 👍👍👍👍👍
@16:25 The Lion had to have gone down the hill and stayed on the low side of the undulation while crossing toward the ramp at the tracks by his base. When there, it used the bushes (stacking as Claus mentioned in the last battle), and then upon leaving the bushes to go up the ramp and over the tracks, was spotted by the EBR. There will also be a slight delay upon spotting as the polling might have just happened before the Lion left the bushes and by the time the server polled again, the Lion was already 15 more metres ahead or so. This delayed spotting mechanic used to be terrible a number of years ago. Especially in city maps where a tank would cross between two buildings but only appear until just about across the other side. No way to ever hit them. The game has improved that immensely, though. But, not without at least some delay, still.
one thing is, the spotting checks run every half second, which is fairly fast second thing, that Lion could've had full camo skill + low noise exhaust for all we know
@@justADeni I think the spotting checks vary based on the distance, or at least they used to. I don't know if there is any public information about the current state of the mechanics.
Claus called me out at 8:28, and I wasn't even in this game .. Now I feel like a movie star on the red carpet !! I But even in a replay from the EU I guess I'm just as famous Coke_a_Cola rides !!!
On that map you do not go to the elevated bush right from the start because you can get outspotted by the enemy scout who stays low and get to a foward position faster. When the enemy scout is detected and killed you can go up or move foward in the outer bush line. That player was just very lucky. The enemy T100LT tried to outspot him but his team was unable to kill the Manticore.
Nice video Claus! I'm honestly the worst light tank player of all time lol... During your video literally twice the boosting comercial of team Raptor... and yesterday too! You would say that this is easy for WG to detect, I assume. Thx again 🙂
Something I have seen people do in the lion; they put low noise exhaust on it. Assuming they had a bounty low noise exhaust, a good crew, and anti-reflective headlights, they would have 36.5% moving camo, & 43.57 stationary camo.
11:06 Muppet Question!?!? You say "Don't stop, you're still lit" How do you know that? I saw the " light bulb " go off to indicate "lit" but how do you know when it's over? How do I know I am no longer "lit"?
Played this map 3x today - sun 23 mar 2023 and in "all" 3 games got practically zero assist in 2 of them because in those games heavies were sitting railway line and under bridge A5 another heavy sitting bushes A2 and another heavy sitting A0.. game 1... 7 tanks spotted 327 assist easy win enemy team due to camping heavies. game 2... 5 tanks spotted 857 assist mostly from other LT and Med game 3... 9 tanks spotted for 3372.. due to not many heavies in MM but still camped. And lately this is not an isolated incident and happens like 70% + of the time

@@MorningNapalmAlternatively, your comment is vague and tangled. It has to be the reader's fault. There's no way your prose could be anything less than perfect! As written, you're saying you can see the invisible shape bounding all or part of a model for the Minotaur and that it's Russian.
@@billomeagain No, read again: "the hitbox for Russian tanks (purple line) for the Minotauro" If I was saying that the Minotauro was Russian, I would not say "for the Minotauro".
If you think this game is stupid, on Console we have a TD that has 36 meters concealment on the move (Wiesel TOW). Oh, and it does 1450 dmg per shot every 19 seconds. But seriously, that Leopard shot was insane LOL
Manticore did the right thing in the beginning. You want to get rid of the enemy light. After that I would do it differently. I would clear that flank and then you have all the tanks in the middle in crossfire. My record on this map is 11k in ELC even.
Something else not mentioned is that when you move (W key), you switch from stationary concealment (high camo) to concealment on the move (lower camo). If you want to move, do what the Manticore did repeatedly and hit the R key once to move forward slowly instead of using your W key. That way, you retain your stationary concealment while still moving. Also, don't fire. You lose all concealment when you do that (minus any bushes you might be using, of course).
lion was using exhaust! and yes, ebr does not have good view range. that is the reason. and on this map, lion quite often has 36% camo on the move. now calculate again!
If you go up to D1/E1 at the start you will often be spotted before you get there, and can be deleted from the game. The first task is to try to eliminate the enemy LTs so that you can move more easily to any bush and can outspot all enemies.
Lion probably have more like 37%stationary, and 30% on the move... Some players, like me does set up their mediums more like a light tank... It gets more powerful that way. Checked with tanksgg lion can get over 42% conceilment.

The one mod that would be very helpful is a distance ring around each tank - you can toggle on/off - to know your 15m range, etc.
