Great video, thank you! I read about some herbs that other women use that you didn't mention, and I wonder about them: sage, nettle, and rose petals. I would love to hear your opinion about them.
Rose petals and nettle would be quite lovely. I would just be careful with sage. It is a powerful stimulating emmenagogue and long term use could really influence your cycle. Plus it's one of the most powerful anticatarrhal herbs that I know of! It would be VERY drying. Just my thoughts of course!

I have a large 13cm ovarian cyst. Bigger than a grapefruit. Of course the doc is wanting to do surgery in less than a month. I'm trying to take matters into my own hands and prevent that major surgery. Doc says he's never seen one that large shrink on their own. But I know people have healed their terminal cancer, so why can't I heal my benign tumor? My monthly is regular every 28 days. I'm 45 but not menopausal. This type of cyst/tumor isn't effected by the menses process. I've got to get this thing taken care of asap! It's also compressing my bladder but I'm urinating ok. I'm needing to do a multi level approach. I already limit my carbs, sugar, gluten, red meat and pork, and processed foods. Also gave up diet sodas. But I'm about to go dairy and soy free, too. Also, starting healing affirmations, sleep hypnosis videos, sound frequency, etc., to deal with the energy and spiritual parts. So now I'm looking at holistic herbs for the womb area so I can physically purge and heal. Which led me here lol. Fertility isn't a concern with me. I need herbs for purging this large tumor/cyst that stems from my left ovary, but is actually now located midline over my bladder. They didn't check my uterus, so not sure if I have uterine fibroids or not. I actually did, several years ago in the early 2000's. But I had them removed in a medical procedure. I was told there's always a possibility of new growth. So that may also be an existing issue, I just don't have it confirmed with testing. The doc wants to remove EVERYTHING just cause I'm 45 and it's convenient. The U.S. performs 80% unnecessary hysterectomies on women yearly. According to some recent studies. My state (MS) is in the top 3 states for doing unnecessary hysterectomies. I definitely believe it after receiving my recommendation. The risks associated with removing ALL my internal female parts is much higher than if I just get the cystectomy along with probably taking my left ovary due to it possibly being too damaged. It's like getting your left arm amputated because it's beyond saving, but they go ahead and take your right arm too, because you just might have a problem with it in a couple of years. Sounds completely ridiculous but that's basically what they're doing. Taking women's organs out of convenience. I found all this out after my GYN appt. It wasn't because he volunteered any info. Women are done so wrongly. Imagine if men were treated in the same manner. They go in with some scrotum pain and 8 out of 10 times, the treatment is to take both their balls. Healthcare would change then! But women.. dismissed and mistreated. Sorry, I went on a bit of a tangent there.. back to me trying to heal myself... In my situation, which ones would you recommend specifically?
It sounds like you are taking some amazing steps towards a healing journey. I agree that the allopathic model tends to be invasive and the removal of organs as opposed to healing. This can be very frustrating for sure when what you want is true healing. Your analogy of the arm is very true indeed. I am unable to recommend herbs outside of clinic due to Health Canada regulations. Also as a practitioner I am obligated to do my due diligence and ensure I have all the details on record. My suggestion would be to try and find a local herbalist who can guide and help you. Being you are in the US, it would be much more convenient and cost effective to find someone local who can help guide you. You have amazing access to healers and practitioners out there which is lovely! Lots of great herbalists south of the border. Best of luck on your healing journey.
Oh that's amazing! Mugwort is a common herb to use in yoni steaming as well and wormwood is in the same family - they feel very similar energetically. Thank you for sharing!
Essential oils are volatile and vaginal tissue is highly porous and sensitive so yes, it is too potent and you could burn yourself using essential oils.
My apologies for the delay in my response. I thought YT gave me notifications for all my comments and they do not. I am trying to get caught up tonight. Vaginal tissue is very sensitive (as it is a mucus membrane). It would be susceptible to burning and quite frankly unnecessary when you have good quality herbs. And yes, small amounts of oregano and thyme would be great especially if you are dealing with an infection.
Hi. Is there any essential oils you recommend at all like jojoba? Its not so strong and the closest to our sebum. I'm actually also trying to figure out how to make natural intimate wash and some of them included jojoba oil You still think its preferably not to use it down there ?
@@mel999. Jojoba is a carrier oil which is completely different than an essential oil (which is a byproduct of the plant distillation process). Carrier oils, like jojoba are lovely options for our skin and that one in particular is a favourite of mine 😍
That's a great question! I wouldn't do this more than 1-2 x a month to start. See how you feel and connect with your body. She'll tell you. In terms of infection though, you could repeat this many times, but I do recommend contacting a natural health practitioner and working within their guidance. Best of luck and thank you for watching!
The blend that I sell to the general public covers a wide variety of bases. I can swap out a herb or two to try to cover more specific symptoms (for example marshmallow root for calendula to help with dryness), but once the case gets too complicated I prefer to have a short consultation with folks.
Sorry for the late reply! I don't always get notice of these comments and then I have to go hunting for them. Trauma in the sense of emotional or physical?
HI there! If you check out the description of this video there is a link to my blog post that has ALL the details you'll need! Here it is: spiraeaherbs.ca/yoni-steams-for-vaginal-health/ Thanks so much for watching. ♥
I would never add essential oils to a steam blend personally. It has more to do with the strength of essential oils and the sensitive nature of the tissues than the bowl that you are using. There is far too much risk of burns and irritation. I would just use herbs :)
There is a link within the description of this video. It will take you to my blog post that is on the exact same subject. Everything is written out there in detail including common and botanical names! Hope that helps.
This is my general formulation so it is not for anything in particular. If you check out the accompanying blog post (link posted in the description) I go into more details about the therapeutic properties of the herbs in this video. Hope that helps and thanks for watching ♥
Hi Glenda! Thank you so much for watching and reaching out. At this time I have not listed my Yoni Steams on my shop (but I will get them listed this week because there is demand!). Until then you can email me at spiraeaherbs@gmail.com and we can arrange something. Many blessings to you!
@@daviamurray As long as none of the herbs you are using interact with your medications or pre-existing health conditions, you could use the same blend of herbs for a tea.
My pleasure! Not everyone wants to buy one or has it in the budget to get one, so I like to give frugal and practical advice when I can. Happy steaming!
The exact mechanisms are not something I could adequately explain I don't think. It's not really a "science" thing more than the spirit of the plant agreeing to help with this work. Mugwort has direct ties to working with spirit and our ancestors and it is through that way that the plant can help. Hopefully that answer makes sense.
HI Whitney. I am sorry that I missed this comment. I used to sell them in my shop, but I closed it down at the beginning of the year to focus on my clients and sharing herbal knowledge.
HI Wendie! I mention in the video that I have a link to my blog post in the description that lists all of the herbs. :) spiraeaherbs.ca/yoni-steams-for-vaginal-health/
Yes all of the herbs can be used as a tea, but it's definitely wise to research contraindications for them first. Just in case you are on medications etc. that could interact.
Yes it does in many ways. On a deeper level it helps to strength the actually tissues... making them like a new elastic instead of an old stretched out one (if that makes sense).
Ah yes this is a wonderful question! There is a belief in most herbal medicine modalities (especially TCM) that cold feet translates to a cold uterus (and kidneys and bladder as well). So while we do womb work, keeping the feet warm and therefore that channel of energy warm ~ we increase the effectiveness of the steam. Hope that helps and thank you so much for watching!
That is a great question. The current consensus is that the herbs used could cause excessive bleeding in some women. The suggestion is to steam just prior to the arrival of your period to help with symptoms like cramping, clotting etc. I hope that helps!
You mentioned the effects of menstrual pain onset or offset , heavy flow , and other irritability . My period is regular and my flow is light… would I still benefit? How does toning the uterine help me or relaxing it?
Thank you so much for your comment and stopping by. Truthfully, everyone can benefit from yoni steaming. By helping to ensure proper circulation to the area and aiding the tissues to become healthy and vital. Consider it like a maintenance practice. We don't always take our car in because something is wrong. Sometimes we just need to rotate the tires or change out the oil! Hope that makes sense ♥♥
As in essential oils? They are extremely potent and volatile and with such sensitive tissues and close proximity to lymph nodes it could be problematic. Burning would be a real concern for sure.
I'm unfamiliar with yoni pearls or their purpose so I can't speak from an educated place. My understanding is that they are for vaginal insertion and I can say that all the herbs in this blend are safe for topical mucus membrane use. Hope that helps!
I only have the one blend available and I tried to make it as "general" as I could. I can easily substitute one herb for another. You can just leave that note in the comment section of the order :)
Hi there Marinel. Thank you for watching my video. As I mentioned in the video I cannot comment or provide any advice to individual people without seeing them in clinic. In general, yoni steaming is very safe for most people. If you feel there may be cause for concern to hesitation (specific health conditions you are dealing with), it is always wise to seek an appointment with a herbalist or qualified natural health practitioner.
Ah yes oral traditions would have been a strong part of your heritage and upbringing I imagine! But I bet it's like riding a bike... Once you start using it all that knowledge would come flooding back ❤️
I am Canadian. We pronounce the H in herbs as do any countries who utilize the British vernacular and spellings. Most herbalists on YT are from the United States which is often why you will hear it pronounced with the h being silent. Hope that helps! ♥
@@SpiraeaHerbs Yeah, as someone who learnt British English I was quite amazed to learn that American English uses a silent 'h' when pronouncing the word. I love the diverse world we live in! Great video by the way😊
Your Video is very educational and is structured very well but I have one question why do you continue to pronounce the H in herbs? Because the H is silent…….. your pronunciation of all the other herbs is Key on point but with me being a early literacy instructor I just wanted to mention it. I don’t mean any disrespect whatsoever.
This is a question I get frequently, and I pronounce the H in herbs because the United States is the only country in which it is silent (as is my understanding). Canada is apart of the British commonwealth and in those countries the H in herbs is very much pronounced. This would include all of Britain, New Zealand, Australia and of course Canada. I hope that answers your question. dictionary.cambridge.org/us/pronunciation/english/herb
It's definitely possible. Legally I cannot diagnose anything, however I can direct you towards areas of research. It's possible you are releasing toxins and /or emotions and traumas held. There are strong energies held in the uterus area as well, so it's possible you could be experiencing an energetic release of some kind. Without knowing your medical background and history it's hard to day for sure. However, this should guide you on what to research further. I would definitely hold off from doing another and perhaps work with a health practitioner to determine if this is the right therapy for you. Or if you are very connected your body you can check in with yourself to see if this feels like a good healing process or not. I hope this helps in some way 🙏
I do! All of my social media accounts are found in the description sections of my videos, but for your ease I will also post the link here ♥ instagram.com/spiraeaherbs/
That greatly depends on why you have no period. Whether it is due to menopause or amenorrhea would greatly change which herbs you would use. Canadian Health regulations prevent me from diagnosing or providing any specific guidance to folks who are not my clients, but that would be my first line of thinking. From there you would explore herbs that are specific to your situation!
Hello Dear. I hope you would answer my Question. Before the Yoni Steam, I had a heavy period and pain but after I started using a Yoni Steam my period become very light and irregular. Some essential oils are made from steam distillation which is not the same process as we are talking about here in this video. While trace amounts of essentials oils may be released during the yoni steaming process, that is nothing compared to the extremely strong concentrations your delicate skin and mucus membranes would be exposed too if you were to use straight essential oils. I hope that helps explain the difference.

My pleasure! Not everyone wants to buy one or has it in the budget to get one, so I like to give frugal and practical advice when I can. Happy steaming!
Would yarrow be safe for breastfeeding mothers?
For a yoni steam it would be fine, but for long term internal consumption I would not recommend it during lactation no.
Where are you located? Do you ship to California?
I'm located in Ontario, Canada and I do ship to this States yes 😊
Please write all the name of herbs in description box, that you use.....
There is a link to the blog post I wrote in the description. If you follow that you will get all the information you need! 🥰 Thank you for watching.
Hello again. I came back for a refresher and now have a question. How does the mugwort herb help with ancestral trauma? ?
The exact mechanisms are not something I could adequately explain I don't think. It's not really a "science" thing more than the spirit of the plant agreeing to help with this work. Mugwort has direct ties to working with spirit and our ancestors and it is through that way that the plant can help. Hopefully that answer makes sense.
What is the reason that we do not want to include essential oils in our yoni steams?
The skin there is far too sensitive to use such powerful medicines. The risk of burns is way too high. In my opinion.
Can you provide the link of your video on "Sourcing Quality Dry Herb"

Do you have a link to purchase an order of Im herbs for yoni steams?
HI Whitney. I am sorry that I missed this comment. I used to sell them in my shop, but I closed it down at the beginning of the year to focus on my clients and sharing herbal knowledge.
Do you supply other businesses with herbs or is this just for you? I'm trying to buy herb's and I'm new to this.
Just for me. I can't grown enough to supply lenders unfortunately.

HI Wendie! I mention in the video that I have a link to my blog post in the description that lists all of the herbs. :)

Can you ingest these herbs as In making a tea?
Yes all of the herbs can be used as a tea, but it's definitely wise to research contraindications for them first. Just in case you are on medications etc. that could interact.
@@SpiraeaHerbs ohh okay thank you
when you say toning does that also mean it acts like an astringent to like move stagnated blood or cysts in the ovaries ?
Yes it does in many ways. On a deeper level it helps to strength the actually tissues... making them like a new elastic instead of an old stretched out one (if that makes sense).
@@SpiraeaHerbs oh i like that illustration - thank you
@@loveyourchichos My pleasure! Glad it helped.
I keep hearing that you should keep your feet warm but why?
Ah yes this is a wonderful question! There is a belief in most herbal medicine modalities (especially TCM) that cold feet translates to a cold uterus (and kidneys and bladder as well). So while we do womb work, keeping the feet warm and therefore that channel of energy warm ~ we increase the effectiveness of the steam.
Hope that helps and thank you so much for watching!
Hi and thnk you for this video. My question is why cant you steam on your cycle?
@@SpiraeaHerbs thank you very much for the wonderful video and reply :) merry Christmas!
@@SpiraeaHerbsthank you so much for sharing the video. How can I order from u. Am Based in south Africa.
Why don't you use oils? Is it because of risk of burning with the heat?
As in essential oils? They are extremely potent and volatile and with such sensitive tissues and close proximity to lymph nodes it could be problematic. Burning would be a real concern for sure.
Im a Yoni steam practitioner and im looking for whole sale ..
HI there! I am so sorry I missed this comment. Feel free to email me at spiraeaherbs@gmail.com to discuss potential wholesaling options.
Are there any benefits to this for someone who has had a hysterectomy?
I would say yes generally. Especially if that someone still experiences dryness, irritation etc. in the vaginal canal.
Can this be used in a yoni pearl which stays in you for 3 days.
I'm unfamiliar with yoni pearls or their purpose so I can't speak from an educated place. My understanding is that they are for vaginal insertion and I can say that all the herbs in this blend are safe for topical mucus membrane use. Hope that helps!
I went to your site and didn’t actually see this blend. Am I not looking good enough ? It had most of them just not the marshmallow root?
I only have the one blend available and I tried to make it as "general" as I could. I can easily substitute one herb for another. You can just leave that note in the comment section of the order :)
can I do this?i have vaginal discharge
Hi there Marinel. Thank you for watching my video. As I mentioned in the video I cannot comment or provide any advice to individual people without seeing them in clinic. In general, yoni steaming is very safe for most people. If you feel there may be cause for concern to hesitation (specific health conditions you are dealing with), it is always wise to seek an appointment with a herbalist or qualified natural health practitioner.

Sorry but I must tell u the h is silent in herbs. Great video
I am Canadian. We pronounce the H in herbs as do any countries who utilize the British vernacular and spellings. Most herbalists on YT are from the United States which is often why you will hear it pronounced with the h being silent. Hope that helps! ♥

Touche.I stand corrected.
@@jenniefayhamilton8964 It's a beautiful world of diversity! I'm glad I could shed some light 💜🙏

I did a yoni steam and am experiencing cramps and lowe abdominal discomfort is this normal? I feel almost as though my cycle is due but its not.

What it you have no period.
Late and not coming on time. I have a period feeling but my period doesn't come on time and I am not happy with the fact that becomes very light and short.
Can you please help to understand this??
I even went to a Doctor, She gave me a pills to help me bring my late period by doesn't work much. So what Can I do to Solve this problem??
Thank you!
Hi Suzzy. It definitely sounds like your body is trying to readjust it's hormonal cycles. But I am not a doctor and cannot legally diagnose. I am also prohibited from offering any medical advice outside of my clinic. That door is always open if you would like a consultation or you could seek out a natural health practitioner that is local to you. Good luck!
@@SpiraeaHerbs Ok. Thank you so much for your reply Dear. If I would like to book a Consultation with you, may I know which country and City your Clinic is please??

Y do t u put essential oil in?
No I definitely do not. The risk of burns would be too high. The herbs themselves provide enough healing 💙🙏
Amazing video.. btw I liked your tattoo, can u show?
I'm Hindu, from India!!
Oh thank you! I have many tattoos, but I assume you are referring to the om one :) I have been a practitioner of yoga for many many years and got this tattoo to honour that part of my spiritual practice.
Ohh waaoo I liked the reason!
why not just essential oil thats what the steam is thats how essential oil is made
Some essential oils are made from steam distillation which is not the same process as we are talking about here in this video. While trace amounts of essentials oils may be released during the yoni steaming process, that is nothing compared to the extremely strong concentrations your delicate skin and mucus membranes would be exposed too if you were to use straight essential oils. I hope that helps explain the difference.
Ok
👍❣ 😎
Thank you!
