God, to think Owlcat went so deep as to put in an ending to a story that would never happen. Such good story writing.
I mean the original WotR have an entire storyline that happends if you fail so...

you don't actually have to expel any of your party members as an aeon to progress along your mythic path! the only party member that you are forced to lose as an aeon is camellia.
the text (paraphrased and summarized, since i can't remember them word for word) for each of them in the aeon ending where you choose to leave your memory behind are
>Woljif is born a normal human in a small village to a loving family, but grows restless. Claiming that nobody understands him, he abandons his home and travels to the no-name city of Kenabres, where he takes to a life of petty crime. He would often state, to his guards confusion, that "If the chief were here, you guys would let me go real quick!"
>Greybor settled down as a family man, becoming a silver-haired elder of a happy, prosperous family and town. However, when he puffed on his pipe, there would always be times where he gazes off into the distance, his eyes filled with quiet yearning.

Yup, I did not remove anyone, especially if it was first run... However in some cases banishing for example Arue (best example) could be said is... an act of mercy/pity. At least she was stopped from working towards outcome that benefited many but not her. That would be a bit unfair towards her.

the reason we don't share our memories with anivia and irabeth is most likely because they were not linked to our mythic power unlike our companions.

While i find it hard to go against my nature and be so completely lawful, true aeon is still probably the most satisfying yet sad endings.

But if Judge Dredd, as Aeon, removed himself from existence, then he wouldn't have have taken up that 'dying' Aeon's consciousness and become an Aeon himself, and therefore wouldn't have rectified the timeline from Areelu's meddling, and remove himself from the timeline. I love paradoxical time loops :)

Great video, as always. Just wanted to inform everyone that action bar on wotr sometimes goes completely blank and you cannot pick any items. This is happening on the enhanced edition on the xbox. They need to fix this ASAP.

Thanks for sharing this. I just played through my aeon run, and I wasn’t aeony enough to get this ending. I’m too soft hearted. I’ll never play through that path again, but I love this ending. The best possible outcome, the war that never happened.

LOL I got burnt out on Pathfinder so I have been focusing on other things. When I circle back to it I'll definitely do a Dredd build including updating some of my old ones.

While an interesting path, no fan of time travel fuckery, especially not such big one, but it's fine as a possible choice. Wouldn't like it, if it would be the only way you can solve the game, but they really deliver many different ways, quite outstanding for a not that big company.
Sadly...erasing yourself from existence is non canon.

Phrasma's last sentence makes no damned sense. You literally write YOURSELF out of existence; which also implies you straight up DON'T EXIST at that point to intervene against her say with Areelu anyway, and she says you will be remembered for as long as this universe exists. ONE of those things can be true. Letting your friends know about you even as you write yourself into nhilism is stupid - because it's potentially MUCH more harmful to their mental states in the long run.
See this is why I say the secret end should have just been the DEFAULT. Pick do you want to become a God; yes? No? Maybe... Nevermind the billion and a half meta sheets you need open to keep track of what you need to do to force the game to do what you want. Just a simple yes, or no. It'd be an appropriate call back to Baldur's Gate 2, and an actual reward for accomplishing getting to the END of the game. Since we have more than 6 party members at any rate the crystal thing is also BS. It should just be, do you want X party members to join you by sharing your Godly powers? Choose your own adventure with how many skill checks... but we don't get to CHOOSE our own ACTUAL ending? That doesn't seem wrong to you Owlcat? Just curious... because no matter what convoluted crap you pull to make the MC mythic = You. Made. Them. A. Demigod! From the start. They were already on the path to divinity by that ONE point alone, and every feat that empowered them should have been a step to the end of that road that says Yes. You CAN just straight up be a GOD. That is what Mythic Rank 10 should have meant. But I digress. I'm tired of harping on it.
* I'm still working to get a Gold Dragon melee run. I'm not sure cleave is worth it. Nor do I think definitively that the shattering defense will do much. Considering there are a couple of classes that get Uncanny dodge, I do have to wonder whether the enemies have that. Because I think the Flat Footed debuff is still buggy. It was never supposed to happen EVERY. Single. First round. Of combat. It's bad enough to need to reload if you get a domination attempt that goes through... having to reload just to get the actual action economy you're supposed to have each turn is bloody stupid programming. Frankly if your party can be "caught off guard" that easily, I don't know how any of them ever managed to properly call themselves Combatants. Which is what an Adventurer is. Generally speaking. Doesn't matter by which flavor it happens.
The game had plenty enough replayability in class options and mythic paths that they didn't need to try to force it to be 3 different genres. They tried it with Kingmaker and we told them it didn't work. So why double down? It IS a good RPG that could have been a great RPG. Even one of the bests, and definitely one of my favorites. I honestly believe that, even as frustrated as I get with all the detriments they try to force on your characters. Which again, did not need to be in the game. But we got what we got, and my faith in Owlcat is very mixed at best now. I will thank you for sharing this, as I was never really planning to do a True Aeon run. I like the concept of being Judge Dredd, but I don't like feeling like I'm being punished instead of rewarded - and writing myself out of existence even for noble purpose when Phrasma's just going to send Areelu into the pit to become the same demon she was in the original timeline (which she should know is very much what's going to happen) just does not feel very much like a good ending for my character. The worldwound never happened... Yet. [What I mean is that the dense death goddess sending her to exactly where she was in the first place to gain the powers to start her experiments, means that she WILL do so in the longrun; and nothing will change. So this is STILL a vicious cycle when you think about it... it will just take longer and start at a different historical point than was previously recorded * Which is in fact a base problem with writing anything to do with time travel, and very much why I don't tend to do that in my own work]

Also the Aeon commander himself didn't care about it, leaving the memory with the companions and also stepping in to still punish Areelu.
It mainly means, that you did a lot of freaky shit to change things, but it still happened as that.

They're a reflection of the Aeon, In this ending the Aeon forgoed love for duty to the law, Irabeth is a representation of such, She's an agent of law and an agent of law cannot foster love for the criminal. Thus, in this fair world, there is no such thing as a "Noble thief with a heart of gold when the situation rises." So Irabeth's wife got her just ending for working against order. As an example Wolfjit ends up jailed no matter the relationship you hold with them
