I've never made a movie before but one of these days I am going to make a low budget horror movie based on my fears of the deep here in my hometown lakes in Oklahoma. The waters are murky and I've always had an unsettling feeling even since a kid that there could be something in this lake and no one would ever see it or know what happened to you.

THIS GUY MADE HALF OF THOSE PEOPLES CHILDHOODS, there would be no daredevil movie without smith, which means there would be no NETFLIX daredevil. He wrote so many movies that I never knew he wrote. All different genres and tones, not to mention his own movies that he directed. What a guy

Today is the day I have officially fallen in love with Melissa Benoist. There’s one music queue from all of Kevin Smith’s movies that I actually care about, and since 2/4 answers was Goodbye Horses I’d figure nobody was going to say The Wookie song from Clerks, but the fact that Melissa said that just blew me away!
I wasn’t into her at first because the few seasons of Supergirl weren’t cutting it for me then the Arrowverse and all the crossovers happened and she finally got a new (more badass) costume and I watched this, and yeah I’m pretty smitten.

After watching Reboot on Blu-ray, I came here to watch Kevin tell the story of reconnecting with Ben. In my opinion, it's the most beautiful scene that Kev's ever written and might be my favorite Kev Smith scene out of all his movies, especially because I'm about to be a first time father myself. Ben's line of "It's no longer about me. Now I'm the stage, and that little girl is the star" made me cry like a bitch.

Since Kevin loves to talk so much and I see him on all his podcasts and UA-cam videos, I sometimes forget he's SILENT Bob, even though that's where I know him from first. LoL. He's so damn cool and such an inspiration for everyone.
Kevin, I f**cking loved this wayy more than Quentin Tarantino. I think you're kind of selling yourself short though when you talk about the difference between you as a past film maker in the film maker you are today when it comes to emotion and real feeling and heart in your movies. And I'll explain why. The thing I value more than anything else about an actors performance and a directors effect on a scene is facial acting. The ability to communicate everything you need to know with just expression. In Clerks II when Becky is teaching Dante to dance, there is a moment during the "ABC" song when Dante is just watching her go and the look between them is so powerful I teared up. And I do not cry often. But if you ever wanted to tell someone you loved them fully and completely in the most perfect way, it would be the expression those characters share in that moment. So in my opinion, you've had a really good handle on having real emotion in your films for a long time now. Cheers sir :)

After watching Reboot on Blu-ray, I came here to watch Kevin tell the story of reconnecting with Ben. In my opinion, it's the most beautiful scene that Kev's ever written and might be my favorite Kev Smith scene out of all his movies, especially because I'm about to be a first time father myself. Ben's line of "It's no longer about me. Now I'm the stage, and that little girl is the star" made me cry like a bitch.

I remember watching Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back in wide release back in 2001 in a packed theater and the audience loving it. Kind of sad that Kevin Smith's movies have to be seen in 1-day specialty release now. :/
Since Kevin loves to talk so much and I see him on all his podcasts and UA-cam videos, I sometimes forget he's SILENT Bob, even though that's where I know him from first. LoL. He's so damn cool and such an inspiration for everyone.

I think you're kind of selling yourself short though when you talk about the difference between you as a past film maker in the film maker you are today when it comes to emotion and real feeling and heart in your movies. And I'll explain why.
The thing I value more than anything else about an actors performance and a directors effect on a scene is facial acting. The ability to communicate everything you need to know with just expression.
In Clerks II when Becky is teaching Dante to dance, there is a moment during the "ABC" song when Dante is just watching her go and the look between them is so powerful I teared up. And I do not cry often.
But if you ever wanted to tell someone you loved them fully and completely in the most perfect way, it would be the expression those characters share in that moment.
So in my opinion, you've had a really good handle on having real emotion in your films for a long time now. Cheers sir :)
