Jesus christ I teared up hardcore and I'm a 38 yr old man. I lost my best friend to a motorcycle accident he also died instantly. Soni feel his pain. It brought back flashes of all our good times we had. Ughh man peace and love to everyone who reads this.
Can I be the one person to say this is actually great to watch and thank Carmen for posting it? That the "laughing woman" didn't bother me at all and the quality is actually a HELL of a lot better than most videoed shows like this? Yes? Ok, then I will :) Thanks! :D
I saw him do Smodcast and Jay and Bob get old at a live event, and him and Mewes did a bit with the interpreter there. It was definitely a highlight of the show
I love Men's movies, but his real gift is speaking and telling stories. He is one of the most genuine people I've ever seen, and a truly love him for that. He's gotten me to pursue my passions on multiple occasions, just by being a regular guy, but still inspiring.
There were some vaguely emotional bits in there. But since it was stretched out over twenty minutes of lightsaber-whacking, it's not quite as memorable.
existenceisrelative Really? I seriously teared up when Obi Wan is like "YOU WERE LIKE A BROTHER TO ME!!". I LOVED the 3rd film. It wasn't perfect, but I really dug the story they were trying to tell and I thought they pulled off the emotional moments incredibly well. Whether Lucas really achieved it, or I simply give him credit because I want to like it, I really enjoyed how it truly felt like Anakin was slipping into madness. When something horrific happens, or you stay up too long and start running on fumes, you start to feel like nothing is real and everything becomes dream-like. I really felt like Anakin's slipping into his Vader persona in one night was a stroke of brilliance because I wouldn't have bought a slow transition. It really felt like they orchestrated events perfectly by having Anakin indirectly kill Windu by not helping him with Palpatine. I really bought that it was the kind of decision one could make in a split second, but that, once you think about it, peels back the layers of reality by having to come to terms with what just happened. Then he has to come to terms with the fact that his mentor, the one he thought was the ultimate good-guy is really the ultimate evil. But he's being told that evil is really good. Then he's further pushed over the edge by murdering the children, something he has already done with the Sandpeople. At that point he's just a complete nutcase and it felt earned. Man, now I want to watch that again.
That signer chick is so cute! Anyway, thanks so much for making this available, no matter if it's not the full thing. Unless this was filmed and released somewhere else I don't know about, this is my only chance to see and hear this. Thank you. RIP Pete King.
Wow. Awesome. Kevin Smith might be the only person who is a bigger Star Wars fan than me. I have seen the first movie maybe 19 times. I was 17 when it came out in 1977.
I'm seeing him tonight and I have never been more excited for anything in my life. I have adored this man for years and his work has shaped my sense of humor and my general outlook on life. Tonight is going to change everything for me.
This was awesome! Thank you SO very much for recording and posting this. I know if I were there, I wouldn't have wanted to take the time to record. The fact you did it for free and posted it for others who couldn't attend speaks volumes to the kind person you are. Thank you very much for this! The stuff with the Signing Translator had me rolling!! :)
Perfection man, from the sign language jokes to his stories. The Pete story hits hard, had a person drift away and die as well, always used to play video games together, now everytime a new one comes out in the series we played I get a bit misty. True stuff Kev. And many thanks for the upload!
Here I am watching this...and I have no background relating to Star Wars...never seen a complete movie (started watching Episode One and got a headache never finished it)...but, but I like Kev Smith. Now I am watching your video here, pretty much listening and laughing. But at 45:07 on this video I almost went into full cardiac arrest. I was listening and I heard, "where are you". Not too audible, sorta a whisper...I almost died I was so scared. My brain couldn't function...I figured someone was watching me watch youtube... Turns out it must have been someone around you saying, "I am in a interview, Hello!!" Just thought I share...thank you for the video
Awesome, thank you. I listened to the podcast and the first thing I did after was look for video because I wanted to see the bits with the translators and you made it easy for me.
Carmen, muchisimas gracias por el video, estas son las cosas que hay que disfrutar un jueves a las 2 AM (hora Venezuela) sin pensar que tengo que ir a trabajar a las 8 AM (hora Venezuela, una vez mas), saludos! (look for someone to translate this if u don't know spanish, not because I don't speak english, it's just for educative entertainment for you I guess, to the rest of the people...DON'T TROLL ME! XD )
I was in the first row, to the left of stage, right in front of the signer. She deserves a raise. What a great sport. This was the highlight of the whole weekend.
If they had just thought to edit the end of the 'cut out' out, and end on 'we were humming Star Wars songs', it would have SEEMED like that was the intended final statement, LOL...
Kevin is the same age as my cousin. Same Star Wars passion too. My cousin had every action figure, and even had the Star Wars wallpaper in his bedroom until middle school, until some kid ragged on him and he pulled it down.
I didn’t realize until recently how Kevin was invested in Boba Fett. Can’t wait to listen to him review The Book of Boba Fett when that comes out later this year.
they're an easy crowd because what it's really about is love of star wars. any hardcore star wars fan would just love to sit around and here these kind of stories from anyone. there's nothing wrong with that. he's not there to make a mark as a comedian.
So hilarious. Wish you could have shown the whole thing. The Sign Language banter he was having with the girl working for the hearing impaired was completely awesome :-)
I had really given up on KEVIN SMITH as an artist or filmmaker but he's so welcoming, entertaining and a bundle of presentable talent, you could hire him for your granny's funeral and it would be a celebration! Good on the Fatman!
Funny thing, Jay and Silent Bob are basically copies of R2 and C-3PO thematically. R2 and C-3PO are copies of a pair of slaves in a Japanese movie, the Hidden Fortress by Akira Kurosawa, which also forms the basis for most of IV: A New Hope. Toshiro Mifune was even supposed to play Obi-Wan originally, as Obi-Wan is based on his character from The Hidden Fortress, the General. Funny he goes to Japan and the reporter connects things.
"Alright folks, before Kevin Smith comes out, I gotta remind you that you're supposed to cheer very loudly for Kevin Smith because he's Kevin Smith and you're all dumb sheep in this here cheerfest we've planned, so don't forget, you have to cheer LOUDLY!"
He didn't ruin your childhood, remember that he's just showing you something that you can watch with your kids and then fresh batch of movies all new trilogy for the new generation before I say so on and the process repeats itself. They are all different movies with unique settings and travel across tons of planets and environments and seeing other worlds in new and exciting ways. You can show your kids your old pre special edition vhs original trilogy before bringing them to see the new ones cuz they're so timeless and the physical practical fx that go hands on don't end up looking corny by future generations looking back on it cuz they had the best team with years of experience from long before they started filming a new hope. George Lucas is a man who believed in a dream and put it on film and that's what Kevin Smith is as well. Thank you
Damnit Carmen!!! Why didnt you bring a backup camera?!?! :) I was so caught up in what he was saying. Now I will always wonder how the story ends. This will haunt me forever. Seriously though, thanks for posting this, wish i were there.
"We made it pete", his voice breaks, so many feels.
Irish Musclegeek Gets me every time.
Jesus christ I teared up hardcore and I'm a 38 yr old man. I lost my best friend to a motorcycle accident he also died instantly. Soni feel his pain. It brought back flashes of all our good times we had. Ughh man peace and love to everyone who reads this.
Wow, that almost brought a tear to MY eye...
Can I be the one person to say this is actually great to watch and thank Carmen for posting it? That the "laughing woman" didn't bother me at all and the quality is actually a HELL of a lot better than most videoed shows like this?
Yes? Ok, then I will :) Thanks! :D
The laughing woman was cute, and kevin is just the best :)
That sign interpreter - what a trooper! xD
Damn you Kevin Smith ! You killed me with the "We made it Pete" :(
Me too bro...Lost a best friend a few years back...Just glad I was watching this alone...
He should hire that sign language interpreter to be at every show, the interactions with her make this my favorite talk he's done.
I saw him do Smodcast and Jay and Bob get old at a live event, and him and Mewes did a bit with the interpreter there. It was definitely a highlight of the show
The dude is always so interesting to listen to, no matter the subject
31:46 I like how the woman is half way through signing "Silent Bob over here" before she realizes he's talking about her :-D
Kevin Smith should bring this sign language translator with him on all speaking engagements, their interactions are hilarious.
I love Men's movies, but his real gift is speaking and telling stories. He is one of the most genuine people I've ever seen, and a truly love him for that. He's gotten me to pursue my passions on multiple occasions, just by being a regular guy, but still inspiring.
No one can deny that the emotions in the fight between Obi-Wan and Anakin on top of the volcano were there. It was amazing when I saw it.
There were some vaguely emotional bits in there. But since it was stretched out over twenty minutes of lightsaber-whacking, it's not quite as memorable.
***** "I HAAAATTE YOU!"

Man, now I want to watch that again.
***** (Yes, Christensen included. He is a very shit actor, and it shows even on SW at times) *Fixed
yeah it was wish the story was there connecting it to everything else
That signer chick is so cute! Anyway, thanks so much for making this available, no matter if it's not the full thing. Unless this was filmed and released somewhere else I don't know about, this is my only chance to see and hear this. Thank you. RIP Pete King.
Thanks for posting this, great job! Too bad about the battery, I can listen to Kevin's stories all day.
Wow. Awesome. Kevin Smith might be the only person who is a bigger Star Wars fan than me. I have seen the first movie maybe 19 times. I was 17 when it came out in 1977.
you can literally see him see his memories as his eyes dart back and fourth when telling a story
I'm seeing him tonight and I have never been more excited for anything in my life. I have adored this man for years and his work has shaped my sense of humor and my general outlook on life. Tonight is going to change everything for me.
Says he has till 2014 to do Clerks III or else its never coming out. Its 2022 and we got Clerks III. HELL YEAH!
And it was horrible
Cheers Carmen for posting this video! Gutted not to have the whole Q & A what what we got to see was brilliant! Thanks
The announcers reminded me of those self help psychos like Tony Robbins or w/e.
thanks so much for posting this!
"We made it, Pete" ... I can't even... #bawl
got me too man
This was awesome! Thank you SO very much for recording and posting this. I know if I were there, I wouldn't have wanted to take the time to record. “We made it Pete!” And now I’m in tears just like you Kevin
Kevin Smith is an absolute legend and he's the king of the talkers

11 years ago - and now we have 9+ Star Wars Movies and a Mandalorian AND a Boba Fett TV Series and much more.
Embarrassing.
Kevin Smith starts at 4:27
Very happy to find this! I was there and it will forever be burned into my memory!
Here I am watching this...and I have no background relating to Star Wars...never seen a complete movie (started watching Episode One and got a headache never finished it)...but, but I like Kev Smith.

Just thought I share...thank you for the video
Thank you. Impressive video. I can just imagine that you had an amazing time. Thanks for the contribution again.
Awesome, thank you. I listened to the podcast and the first thing I did after was look for video because I wanted to see the bits with the translators and you made it easy for me.
Best part of the whole thing... the interpreter, Kev was having sooo much fun with her. ;)
"You know who's gonna get us off??? Fat Kevin Smith."
Thank you so much for giving us such charisma, Kevin. 😂😂😂
Thank you Carmen Williams, you made my Saturday night
This is one of my favorite things I've ever watched.
Thanks for recording and posting this!
Good effort! Thanks for sharing the experience for those who couldn't be there!
Carmen, muchisimas gracias por el video, estas son las cosas que hay que disfrutar un jueves a las 2 AM (hora Venezuela) sin pensar que tengo que ir a trabajar a las 8 AM (hora Venezuela, una vez mas), saludos!

This is hilarious, I haven't laughed this much in a long time!
Thanks for posting this
This is classic Kevin hilarious as always thanks Carmen also the women who keeps laughing sounds hot lol.
Thanks for posting this video. Ignore all of the idiot comments about the crowd or camerawork. You did a great job.
Just stumbled across this - The Mandalorian must be pressing some of Kevin's buttons now :D
And I'm so sorry for that signer :D That was hilarious
the big brother i never had. guy is an icon to life :)
I was in the first row, to the left of stage, right in front of the signer. She deserves a raise. What a great sport. This was the highlight of the whole weekend.
Thank you so much for this
Even though you ran out of battery thank you for giving us what you could and it kept me entirely entertained :)
That first sign language translator had better been paid gold in her weight. LOL!
BIg thanks for puting that online.
Kev`s funny like always
Devastated when the story cuts out half-way through
If they had just thought to edit the end of the 'cut out' out, and end on 'we were humming Star Wars songs', it would have SEEMED like that was the intended final statement, LOL...
Thanks for uploading this Carmen, really enjoyed it. to bad your battery fel flat.. but whaddaya gonna do right, this was great any way!
"If it doesn't happen by 2014, then it'll never happen."
Well shit
And eight years later, he finally made it.
magnificent : ) Thanks for this. I've dropped a like and subscribed
I still have my AT-AT! And all my other old toys! Now I know why I love Kevin Smith!
Carmen I am mad as hell at you right about now! Stopped right at the end. BUT thanks for recording what you could.. Lol
Kevin is the same age as my cousin. Same Star Wars passion too. My cousin had every action figure, and even had the Star Wars wallpaper in his bedroom until middle school, until some kid ragged on him and he pulled it down.
IS THERE A PART 2!? :-O
Thank you for providing this good sir :)
I didn’t realize until recently how Kevin was invested in Boba Fett. Can’t wait to listen to him review The Book of Boba Fett when that comes out later this year.
I love the back and forth with the ASL interpreter 🤣
I was there for this, what an awesome show
I had those mini playsets. The jabba, darth vader, and boba fett heads that opened up into their iconic places and little figures.
I'd usually find someone laughing annoying, but that is a great genuine laugh.
It's good to see he finally lost all that weight, he was sweating buckets here, those lights must have been killer.
Nobody tells me to act like Silent Bob, except my wife when she tells me "Shut the fuck up." XD
My favorite voice-actor and favorite director in one room? Serious Joygasam!!
Loved when the male signer walked on stage and was like "bring it on southwest"
Kevin Smith is a great American story teller. It follows that he would become a screenwriter. He appears to see life as a movie.
Interplay with signer is hilarious. Who but Kevin Smith?
I still have my ATAT! So many great memories.
this is great lol Kevin Smith is the man
up to 21 minutes and fun to watch, thanks
Love how no matter what the question is he ends up going into a 10 minute story
they're an easy crowd because what it's really about is love of star wars. any hardcore star wars fan would just love to sit around and here these kind of stories from anyone. there's nothing wrong with that. he's not there to make a mark as a comedian.
I'm pretty sure I'm in love with the ASL translator. Just saying.
I remember the X-Mas when the AT-AT was new..I got the Millennium Falcon and my brother got the AT-AT. I was so happy.
I know how you feel. Christmas 1983. The rebel snowspeeder!!!!!!!
I've always wondered why the 'cons never have a professional camera set up to record and post videos. It's always footage from audience members.
Thanks for this! :)
So hilarious. Wish you could have shown the whole thing. The Sign Language banter he was having with the girl working for the hearing impaired was completely awesome :-)
"They have a sign word for glory hole!?!?!" Holy balls I cant breathe I'm laughing so hard..
loved this. thanks
Kevin Smith's opening monologue is like a stand up set :D
9 years later, we're anticipating The Book of Boba Fett...
Thanx for posting!
Thanks for the upload.
I had really given up on KEVIN SMITH as an artist or filmmaker but he's so welcoming, entertaining and a bundle of presentable talent, you could hire him for your granny's funeral and it would be a celebration! Good on the Fatman!
24:03 This is probably the funniest on-stage interaction with a signer I've ever seen 😅
Thought it was an EVO tournament for a split second with that giant screen
Funny thing, Jay and Silent Bob are basically copies of R2 and C-3PO thematically. R2 and C-3PO are copies of a pair of slaves in a Japanese movie, the Hidden Fortress by Akira Kurosawa, which also forms the basis for most of IV: A New Hope. dude, his star wars movie idea was pure gold
i was there, lol cool to see this again
Kevin Smith is such a beast!
Kevin Smith is one funny ass guy! Have enjoyed watching the dude's stuff since Clerks came out.
i love hows he just fucks with the signer
Just wanted to say thanks.

I was so into that when it ended
In what sign language school do one learn the sign for "glory hole"? oO
Awesome quality !
