I don't care what anyone says, these guys will always go down in history as my generation's urban cultural innovators and part of our personal favorite actor/comedians. Every friend I ever made in my teens to now knows and remembers their positive influence with their entertainment and work through out these years.

Hand Glove I don't think Smith would let Mewes fall off the wagon. This whole podcast show he does in order to help him cope with his addiction. I respect that. I don't have any friends that would do that for me. Well, I don't have any friends, period.

Seth Stone Pot will get an addict started again, there is a reason when addicts go to treatment, they tell them no drugs period. Pot is not "nothing", only potheads say that.
This episode brought me to tears! As someone who has battled addiction all my life & was even sober for 8yrs at one point. I'm climbing once again. These two are so damn entertaining and inspiring.

What a great Friend, Kevin Smith. I have so much respect for you. And Jason Mewes is a fighter and comedian. I love how much strength and courage he has to talk about his past situation. Excellent way to further process a "past experience" and find build acceptance with himself. Very Cool.

I think it's actually pretty cool that Jason is so open about this.
Both of these guys are as real as they come. When they were based in NJ Kevin would let fans visit their View Askew office and always gave a full tour...He'd talk for as long as you wanted and you always left with an autographed poster or book. Class act and just a great dude! Love these guys and will gladly support them with my dollars forever.

Jay and Silent Bob Get Old is an amazing thing that Kevin and Jay are doing for people trying to wade through their bout with addiction, depression, or both (usually both are presented together---a causal relationship).
I think we forget to take our heads out of our own asses quite a bit and fail to notice peripheral things like a friend or family member that may be dealing with something. Hell, even in our daily interactions with perfect strangers! We forget that we have the power to make someone's day just a little bit better by accessing our empathy more frequently---with very little effort, really. There really needs to be a makeover performed on our current perception of and therefore treatment of people suffering mental illness, and remove the stigma associated with it. Mental illness, like other illnesses of the body, can be either acute or chronic. Meaning that the idea that "mental illness equals crazy" is an unfortunate misnomer. But things like this show are great leading examples of extending our empathy past that of our family or friends to everyone we encounter. I can only hope that more folks follow suit.

My best friend showed me Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back in high school. I was painfully shy. He was funny and loud. I pursued arts and music, he fell down the whole of heroin. I wish I would have been smart enough to help him at the time. I watch J&SBSB almost every single night. Send your prayers to "Jimmy Apeshit".

it's not focusing on "negativity", it's acknowledging the mistakes of the past so that he doesn't repeat them. Like ...imagine telling your life story... now all these people know you better... Jason Mewes probably feels like he's obligated... but not in a "oh fuck, I gotta go to work (obligated)"... And i'm sure his story inspires others, because a lot of people know how hard addiction can be to get rid of, and Jason knows this as well... so in a effort to help himself... he's helping others...
And btw no one ever pried into these guys lives, they've been very open about this stuff...

being fidgety doesn't mean anything. I've never done a drug in my like and I'm very fidgety while talking to people.

I like to believe that he's staying clean, since he gives his sobriety count every episode, and his wife, his kid, and Kevin are all keeping a pretty close eye at this point. I think his mannerisms are a combination of the personality he's always had and the after effects of drug abuse.

As a recovering addict I could say that I'm pretty sure mewes is on dope here, he keeps swaying back and forth and fidgeting with his nose. I doubt he had the clean time that kevin smith thought he had at that time.

During the time she was growing up, the CIA was doing some pretty unethical mental experiments, some involving children. That much isn't very up for debate, if you care to dig. It is essentially provable. Less so, Courtney Love's involvement, but looking at the history of her entire life through that lens, it isn't a ridiculous speculation.
