Been doing paint correction and ceramic coatings on high end cars now for awhile. After using almost every compound and polish, the meguiars 110 and 220 is worth it. The 110 leaves small uniform scratches to be polished out for easy removal. It also has a very fast cut, low heat, and wipes away easily compared to other compounds. I will say however it does produce a good amount of dust but if you are doing more than a 1 step correction then it doesn't matter. The 220 polish also has similar features and is great for hand polishing wheel faces. Produces little/no dust, removes the fine scratches from the 110 compound and also much easier to remove excess with microfiber towels (especially when working soft sticky paint). Would recommend these products to anyone. If you want to take this system 1 step further i would recommend using 3M ultrafine machine polish. It will give you 1-5% extra shine/pop but only if you think it's worth your time to do so. Will recommend these products over any of the chemical guys products (ive tried and used V32,V34,V36,V38, C4 correction, and P4 polishing) and these not only cost more for detailing more than 1 vehicle but also cause high amounts of dusting, hard to remove excess product, and very low working time.
Good to see MIke Phillips looking so happy when he sees his old colleagues from Meguiar's. I miss chatting with Mike Phillips all day long back on MOL!!!
Very informative information! I've ceramic coated my Pearl White Model S Plaid last year when new, it's always garaged, and looks the same and still feels as smooth as the day I coated it, now I would like to add some protetection wax. I have a question: Can I just add Meguiar's Deep Crystal Wax to the paint or would I need to use Meguiar's 3 in 1 Cleaner Wax? Thank you for your help!
I just spent 20 hours restoring my 1990 black corvette paint job with meguars compounds and polishing products. They worked pretty good but I wish I had heard of these 2 new products before I started, I could have probably saved myself a few steps. I am curious if I can go over what I've already done to bring more clarity to my 35 yo paint with these 2 products.
My word that paint is *hammered* man.. I've been playing with 110 and 210 and I'm liking it more and more, especially 110. They opened up the cycle time and cut down on the horrible dusting and compound haze. Removal is much easier with both. I can even finish down with 110 pretty well, especially with a B&S uro-fiber 50/50 pad. 110 and 210 both pair very well with that pad. Easily the best AIO and 1 step pad ever made. If you haven't tried one yet, stop what you're doing and order one right now! 👍👌✌
@@KWW0321 yep the 50/50 is my go to pad for a one step with hard clear and/or heavier defects. Cuts better than foam when using a finer polish. I start with 210 and foam, if I need more cut I'll switch to the 50/50. If that doesn't do the trick I can finish down quite well if I have to with just 110 and strict residue control if I'm working with a tight budget and really deep defects. I'm not a big fan of aio polishes, I prefer to do my thorough OCD surface prep and apply dedicated protection. But I have used Moonlight together with 210 and also with M83 for a custom aio polish and both have worked very well for me. Love Meguiars products for getting a lot done on a budget. 👍👌✌
@@jdisdetermined that's for the info I'll have to try that out, I've been using the lake country one step MF with final finish with good results but it can struggle on hard clears.
I'm finding M110 to cut harder than everything I have. I had a really destroyed, really difficult Bentley at the shop yesterday. I tried some of the heavy hitters trying to get the damage out with one cycle of passes. I tried 3D ACA500, AAT501, Rupes DA Coarse, Megs D300, Menzerna 400, and M110. I wasn't expecting M110 out perform the 3D stuff. I was using those Buff and Shine Uro-Fiber pads. They get labeled too much as a "one does all pad", but I find it to be a great cutter. It out cuts their Uro-Wool every time.
Used it for the first time last weekend definitely worth buying if you're a person who likes detailing your own car recommend first time to use on lowest setting 800 so you don't burn paint don't leave in one spot keep moving it over paint easy to use ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfzbDkCRyv3CFXnLZI4APZtRRuG2uRmP2 truck looks like new again used maguires black light battery life like all milwaukee products seem to hold up well 😀
I've had great luck using your products since 1985 in Los Angeles. I do wish that in your presentation to vigorously shake the bottle before using. Thanks
I came here to make a final decision on which compound/polish combo to try on my very first paint correction. I hate “circus tricks”. Smoke and mirrors, sleight of hand, etc. The utter lack of post polish results footage was so obvious, it killed any confidence I had built up during the verbose sales spiels. It obviously didn’t go as planned. And if 2 seasons pros can’t get good results on a 2’ section of hood, how are us “bubbas” in WV supposed to feel about the product?
I Clay bar my camaro and started with the hood first using meguiars 210 by hand and don't know what happen but getting it off with a microfiber towel wasn't easy.
I have a 1990 Chevy G20 motorhome highly oxidized. I know so little ... but want to get it right. I think it is a single stage ... but the 2' high top is fiberglass ... now what?
I have a huge ordeal, what can i use on my paint to get rid of etching from bird droppings? Droppings etched into the clear coat not to the point where it cracked the clear coat but after washing i can still see the stain
i, I am using Ultra Pro Speed Compound M110 and Ultra Pro Finishing Polish M210 and the results are great but Have I to apply other steps like sealant or wax? If it is yes, suggest one please
Yes, after using a compound and polish, it is good to protect the paint. Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant is an excellent choice. www.autogeek.net/wg5500.html
Can I mix the product lines? Like use the M110, then follow up with the M205, rather than the M210? Or would I be better off using the full system, and stick with the M210 after the M110? Please let me know, as I’m in the process of prepping my cars for an application of high quality ceramic coating.
Looking for a good compound to remove severe water etching on all car windows for a client in a few days. Read the Megs 105 might be a good one for this. I love Megs so I’m hoping there’s something I can pickup at the local auto shop. I’m going to be using the griot’s DA g8 and g9 with the Griot’s glass polishing pads, and I’m hoping their fine glass polish will remove all the etchings without having to spend too much time and have a lot of dust because they are windows. Any suggestions?
A vehicle compound will not remove physical etchings in the glass. Glass is extremely hard. You will need to most likely use CarPro Ceriglass with CarPro Rayon pads to help with etchings. This video explains the exact steps required to use the ceriglass system - ua-cam.com/video/t15n7ATZpVs/v-deo.html
@@autogeek thank you! I actually bought those from your site yesterday, but it would’ve been $60 for shipping to get it to me by Monday so I’m hoping Griot’s glass polish and pads will do the trick while I wait for carpro’s products to ship. The Rag company has a newer video on using compound on windows (as well as so many other people) so I thought it would work, but I always want to do the best work possible and have the right products for the job 🙂
M110 cuts way harder than Ultimate Compound. Event though M210 has more cut than Ultimate Polish, it has less "nourishing oils" in it, and seems to deliver more clarity.
I have all sorts of foam pads but no microfiber. Do that mean I have to by some microfiber to use M110 & M 210? Do you need as many microfiber pads to do a car? Thank you from a beginner.
Invest in a few microfiber cutting pads to start and try them out. They're very cheap and great for cutting and getting the job done efficiently. You'll never go back. About the only time I use a foam pad is for finishing polish and black application pads to apply waxes and sealants.
This video is absolutely terrible, after the firstdemonstration you showed a very quick glimpse of the result, which was obviously not as good as you had hopped (it really didn't look any better), I could tell by your reaction to what you saw, a quick change in the scripted and a second attempt I made and you don't even bother to show the results too busy chatting instead of concentrating on the demonstration which is what you are there to do. I am amazed that a well respected company allowed this video to be released. Definitely not a promotional video it actually does the opposite, fortunately I know that regulars products are good, I am currently using them.

So true, I can attach extensions on my rotary, anywhere from 1 inch to 8 inch backing plates and pads, wool, foam pads for cutting/finishing, anything from a heavy cut compound to a fine finishing polish. I think people are just scared to learn it and get good at it, but the rotary works, and very well. These new 15mm, 21mm DA throw machines work very well also, but I hate that they still stall on curves, contours, I think if I did go with a new machine, it will be the Rupes Mille, kind of the best of both worlds.
