I may get slapped around for saying this, but I'm still running mine with what came in the box when I got it 3 years ago. It works well for me and I catch plenty of fish with it. I keep watching all the videos about the updates, but haven't jumped off the ledge to try any of them yet. It seems like guys are all over the map on whether they like the updates or not. So, I'm still waiting and watching until I see something to change my mind and see more consistency among the guys reviewing them.

@@The_Garmin_Guru You can’t roll back after the perspective update and it work like before. It has to be pre perspective box that has never been updated. My box died and the new one had the newer software. It also introduced me to the dead zones and ghost tree. I still get pissed when I fish with someone that has the old software. 🤣. I’m talking box software here.

U are the man.. Ok was a diehard 25.3 guy .(unit 1222) I never update when things are good..but I did the 26.1..took it out and after 3 hrs of messing with settings,I was ready to chunk it in the lake .. updated 26.2...put in water..the base settings that it started me on,were good enough to fish. Very happy...then started using color gain, focus, and the others to micro adjust. .I was very pleased....so I suggest the 26.2...its amazing when u fiqure it out

It would be 2.20 on the black box. 2.30 brought perspective view. I still have my doubts if your unit and black box have been updated or didn’t come with that software. Thanks for taking the time to run these tests. I’m running 25.30/2.55 now and will probably check out 26.2 over the weekend.

@@The_Garmin_Guru doubts that many have gone back to 2.20 and never got that clean screen again. My unit came with 23.00/2.41. I tried going down and it didn’t work. Seems if your unit didn’t have that software already it never really worked but look forward to seeing yours.

I have a comparison video on BBC as well. I did 2.20/2.55/2.57. It will come down to personal preference. There are way too many variables for two people to have the same quality with same settings in my opinion. Also you have to set it up to how you fish. Settings close range will be different than having your forward range set to 90-100 feet. Nice video. Should do 2.55 vs 2.57.

Great info as usual, what u think a guy that has not even powered up his livescope that he got in December, don’t know what software is on it, should do? I’m thinking load the newest and never look back. New 106sv never powered on also, currently running an elite 7 chirp on the trolling motor but got the gt 50 something with it that I wasn’t planning on using unless I got another unit for the console. Would I be crazy for not putting the gt on trolling motor when it’s mostly going to be my livescope screen. Very anti split screen.

Wish you would go back to sharing your settings. I don't care if they don't help me on my 1222 unit. It just gives me something to try or possibly a starting point. I am regularly trying different settings on my own. I don't understand why some would get upset if your settings didn't work for them.
