aw, thank you :). i miss Butter too. having Peach running around reminds me of when Butter was her age, getting her nose into everything and loving every minute of it!
Amanda, your videos bring so much peace and tranquillity to my soul, I love to watch your routine with the beautiful and quiet scenario. Thank you for sharing.
I’m gonna remember that re:boredom being a resistance to the flow of life. I definitely live with that belief and am glad for it. Love the chance to feel the freedom of ‘being’ to celebrate guiltlessly the act of not ‘doing’. Always ready to act if necessary while quietly hoping to just be.
You are multi-talented Amanda! I would not have a clue how to change oil filter! Hope you and peaches have a wonderful week. Take some of the rainy time to sit, read a book or just stare at the wall. It is fun! 😊
You could do it - it's not hard :). I had to learn how to do all that stuff living on my boat. If I run into problems and there is no one around I have to be able to fix a few things :).
Yes it's a lot of work around there! But I sure enjoy watching! Love all your camera work and that shot of Peach running along the path was perfection!
Nice that Peach has been able to run about no doubt she enjoys it, Good to hear about your property black bear and that they are still behaving themself Lots of work but a joy to watch , what a wonderful place this is to live and work looking forward to the next time .
Hello Amanda, you are not alone, you have a dog, you have a visitors, a bears, wolfs, and who know what els, plus you have a lot's of friends online, who dearly loves you. You are living in a beautiful place.Nice video, very peaceful. Thank you for that.
You amaze all the things you know how to do and the up keep on the generator, you seem so organzied! I loce your videos ao much, enjoy you talking as you are working with the generator oil change 😊❤
Lovely to see young Peach off leash. My own pup is now 14 years old. I almost feel that old bear is fond of you and respectful in not getting too close but still likes to be near you! Greetings as always Amanda, from an off grid cabin in New Zealand.
haha... oh that bear would knock me on my a$$ if i got too close. i did get too close my first year here and the look he gave me!!!!! wowsers. i think back now of how stupid i was - haha!
Great video, Amanda. You are amazing. I wouldn’t be able to move for a week after doing everything you do!! 😇 Peach seems so happy to be off leash & running around again. Have a great week & take some time for you. You work too hard!! Blessings, Friend!! ❤️🙏🏻
haha :). My body just got used to it. My first months here were a bit tough... not gonna lie :). Peach is definitely happiest when she is outside! Thank you for watching!
You are doing such a great job all by yourself! I consider myself a pretty handy woman but this oil change, filter change, machinery maintenance would make me uncomfortable. And as I get older (50), I try to watch my back and try to avoid heavy lifting in the future. Things take longer but always looking for the easiest way of doing things. Trying to avoid hernia surgery 😂 Let’s hope you can enjoy some free time while it’s rainy outside 😊
Hello from the U.S.! Good to see Peach doing so well. She's adjusted quite nicely! I'm glad that the bear doesn't seem to mind sharing the island with people! Do you have a name for him? Hopefully it won't rain too much there, and you & Peach can get outside for a while. Take care!
Just came across your channel. Thank you for sharing your days. I am enjoying living vicariously through your days in nature! I enjoy your commentary and watching your day. I particularly enjoy the sound of the crows in the background. Peace Amanda!
Gmorning Amanda. Hope you are well. Beautiful big bear eh. We have so many around right now. They all look great coming out of winter this spring. Anyways, great job getting all the maintenance done, hope you found a little down time in your day 🌷🇨🇦
You never cease to amaze me with your ability to do everything. Peach seems to be sticking closer to you these days. Are there fleas or ticks on the island?
bigger like fatter!? or just bigger? i worry she’s going to put on weight with how much she has been on leash. lately. if we were in the city i could take her on an hour walk, but here not so much. the days she can be off leash all day i run her ragged 😆
Since November I have done 20 hours worth of work like driving and shopping, all electric build, I feel very lazy watching you do all that work. I have done almost nothing for the winter and loved every day off it.
@@AmandaOffGrid I have a few more tests to do this year with electric heat if successful how much would not burning wood improve your day everyday? Is there any way you could spare 9kw a day?
:)... it's 100% up to the owner how the cabins are heated. i enjoy splitting the wood and getting it ready for the next season and there is nothing like burning a wood stove inside when it's raining and cold outside :)
Hi from Calgary, How's Peach doing with feeling unsure of the 4-wheeler? I am headed to Vancouver Island on May 2 for a vaca. Can't wait. Will you be doing any sailing this year?
She's more comfortable with the electric cart than she is with the truck... i think it's the noise. She definitely hates the ride-a-long lawnmower! have an amazing time!
Maybe they need another caretaker with a dog, lol...to help balance the work/play mode and isolation. Although, the isolation can be lovely too. Peace girls...xx
Not yet! I haven't been that far. This is the farthest North I have come. My trip here was my first trip through the rapids! I've been working and loving my life here since I arrived - haha!
@@AmandaOffGrid I must be mistaken about the name of the body of water where the island is located. I was trying to ask if you had any time to take Anadna out since becoming a caretaker on the island. I recall that you have made a few trips over to Vancouver Island in other boats but not on your sailboat. In the places where I've kept boats in salt water they could not go so long without maintenance on the hull. The bottom and prop would get a thick coat of algae and barnacles and the zincs would need replacement. (I'm an old sailor and fishing boat guy that can't help but wonder about this sort of thing. 🤔) Maybe the water up there is cold enough so this stuff isn't so much of an issue. Best wishes & good luck !
the bottom of my boat IS looking kinda bad... not gonna lie. i had my zincs changed (and the bottom painted) right before coming here. i have a bronze shaft and b/c of where i am (no derelict boats etc.) it should be fine for now. but you're right they should be changed. i have not taken my sailboat out. mostly b/c Buttercup was just too old to get back onto any boat and if she couldn't come with me i wasn't interested in going anywhere. i take a power boat to town. if i took my sailboat it would have to be an overnight trip and i can't leave the property overnight.
Have you ever considered a stretch brace? It’s just compression copper material… provides tremendous support. I know lots of landscapers/construction people wear them. :)
When I first arrived it was definitely alot harder to lift these big logs. Much easier now, but for some reason my muscles are still really puny - haha!
How do you keep track of ALL the things you have to do? I suppose after a while, it becomes routine, but at the beginning, you must have had to make big manual of notes, schedules, etc. Yikes!
We miss Buttercup. RIP. But, it sure is a joy watching a big active dog running around the place. Peace.
aw, thank you :). i miss Butter too. having Peach running around reminds me of when Butter was her age, getting her nose into everything and loving every minute of it!
Hi Amanda. Peach really appears to obey well. I know that helps in how you know to trust her. Great video.
Amanda, your videos bring so much peace and tranquillity to my soul, I love to watch your routine with the beautiful and quiet scenario. Thank you for sharing.
that’s wonderful 🧡🧡🧡! i’m so glad!
I am retired. I enjoy doing nothing immensely. The freedom of it and I never get bored. They say boredom is a resistance to the flow of life.
I agree whole heartedly.

I just luv this video. "Peach Come!!!" 🍑 ❤
😆😆 i say that sooooooo much when she’s off leash. she’d be way deep in the forest if i didn’t get her attention every once in awhile 😆
What peaceful, beautiful land. It's so relaxing just to watch your videos.
Thank you Linda. I'm so glad you enjoy the videos!
You do so much work around there in all your videos. Have you ever given some thought to hanging out inside and do a question and answer video?
i've thought about it. i just have to plan it :). it has never occurred to me that people might have questions they would want answered - haha!
Hi Amanda! I love watching you go about your daily chores. I envy your lifestyle. So peaceful there with Peach. Keep the videos coming! ❤
Thank you so much!
Glad to hear that the bears know who's boss and stay away...😂😂...stay safe...
haha :)! yah, don't think he's bothered too much by us :)
Another great video of your life Amanda and Peach too...Hope your both well 🙂

I hear ya. I find I am getting out of bed at around 4AM just so I can have a couple hours to do nothing :). Have a great week.

oh there's lots i cannot do :)... yes, there are ticks. i check Peach regularly!!

Love the drone ...
Morning Amanda, you must enjoy this life a lot? Tell us about your boat life and sailing experience
How many people do you know have chores that include picking up bear poo! Fun times! lol.
Loved this!
Hi Amanda ....i've seen ur show on tv and searched for u . I like what u do .... going about ur chores and stuff .... ur just GREAT !!!! 6:19 6:22
Love your weather reports, I'm a little obsessed with the weather myself. Lol
Is peach getting bigger since you got her or is it just me?

@AmandaOffGrid bigger like taller, I don't think she fat at all, I just thought she looked like she was growing.
I thought she looks bigger too but I think may be muscle since she runs back and forth so much! She's maturing and enjoying life ❤😊
Good luck ❤
I talked to you a few months ago..and I saw a show you were on. So I subscribed to your channel... looks like your doing well.

My gawd Amanda, take care of your back. From someone with steel implants in spine. You do backbreaking work!😮
oh wow!!! yes… i’ll be careful!

I have a to-do list :). Some things are just regular daily things that need to be done, but others are once a month, every couple months etc :)
Im starting to wonder how you look without a hat😂❤
I assume you fish & crab, right?
Lot's of salmon and prawns... not so much crab.
